Really enjoyed this review Brannon. I just ordered these tonight. Keep up the good work and Merry Christmas! I have the same phone you do and I just got a Shanling M6 Ultra DAP which is capable of LDAC, so best of both worlds. 🙂
I just saw this on Amazon and I always wanted a neckband speaker but bose still too expansive. I heard the sound on the Monster boomerang petite neckband bluetooth speakers are similar to those expensive ones.
I'm starting to prefer soundcore even if they aren't the best for the price because the app is so good. Have Liberty 3 Pros and don't see a need to upgrade until something comes out vastly superior
I have the liberty 3 pros. There's some hardware issues with mine such as connectivity and not being able to charge the left earbud sometimes (nowadays it charges to 90 and that's it), but man I tried using Samsung buds and they don't compare. It's like I can't take anything less than what the liberty 3 pros give me. It can be comparable or better, but not less. They're amazing!
I have liberty 4s last 2 weeks. I find the eartips uncomfortable, and the noise cancelling poor. Worst is the poor wind noise reduction. I also have the liberty 3 pros and they are way better in every respect.
Hey Brannon, I would love you to compare your best soundcore Earbud with the Airpods Pro second edition. No price comparison between both, just App and Sound quality with ANC. I had many, many earbuds company (Bose, Sony, Jabra, B&W. I still a Soundcore lovers for their APPS and Base sound. Ordering the Liberty 4 to test by myself without dancing ! As usual, great review Brannon! A+
I returned these after only a few days. They were completely and utterly unusable for my commute. I cycle, ride two different ferries and a train every day (weird commute I know, but it's comprehensive!) and the L4's ANC just had a panic attack at every single one of them. No amount of firmware updates, swapping tips, running the fit test, running the calibration, adaptive, fixed, high, low, nothing did anything to fix them. 1.) No wind noise algorithm. ANC on or off, they tried to kill me on my ride to the ferry terminal over about 5mph. That also means that standing on a windy pier or in a windy downtown also caused obscene, painful mic clipping. 1more's wind mode is still untouchable by any other brand at any price. 2.) High frequency turbocharger noises from my foot ferry's engine or the brakes on the train were basically untouched. I know high frequencies are generally weaker, but these were noticeably terrible. 3.) The pulsing rumble of the large ferry engine or the seattle light rail made the ANC so angry that I swear it was trying to kill me with hand-grenade like pulsating sound waves. It just freaked out completely. I'm not kidding when I say that some literal knockoff, $25 airpod pro 2's I got on aliexpress on a whim have ANC that's twice as good in every single situation. I don't think anything was wrong with them because just walking they were okay, in a room with fans, fine. But commuting, good god no at every step of the way. They sound okay. Not great. They lack the almost planar like thump that the galaxy bud pro's had, they lack the space and soundstage and separation that 1more tunes for, they just sound... fine. Even with LDAC enabled, I preferred the far wider soundstage and separation in the comfobuds mini's that don't have LDAC. The case design is okay, a little too bulky still. The squeeze controls worked well. The eartips fit okay, but there are no alternative options due to the proprietary shape and way anker integrated the heart rate sensor (something amazfit's earbuds had years ago without the sensor, they even increased the bass with your heart rate for workouts and had integrated magnetic ear loops for workouts... in a smaller case) Anker's app is a little slow and kept crashing in the background. 1more's app is better, samsung's was superb (I really liked their home screen widget to just toggle specific ANC modes) Overall, absolutely not. These things would be a POSSIBLE good deal at like $80-100. Not even close for the $170 I paid.
I have to say I disagree, I think these are a fantastic set of true wireless earbuds. The only real issue I have with them is the case being too small to fit my third party tips properly in the case. The noise cancelling is mid tier, its not the best, on that I agree. I cannot speak enough to the frequencies you mention as I simply don’t come across enough of them whilst using these buds on my day to day. I tested on both original and third party ear tips. The case design isn’t bad, I think its slender enough and easily fits in a pocket without much bulge. I never ran into issues with the app. I do think the low end is lacking a bit but I have always preferred bass emphasis on EQ settings. The XM4s for this reason still seem to be my go to. I recently bought a pair of One Plus Buds Pro 2’s and they may be my new favourite. Again though the case doesn’t allow my third party ear tips to fit inside the case.
@1Reaper1 a followup, after anker insisted I try another pair and let me keep them, they became my wife's daily user. The left one died in under 6 months and anker can't replace individual buds. Since I personally hated the sound quality and thought the NC was super mid, we got a pair of the liberty 4 NC. They're superior in every single way. Sound, the anc is a huge class above (phenomenal is an understatement) the l4's just suck out loud by comparison despite costing more. All I preferred on the l4 was the squeeze interface on the stems and the case a bit more
There’s a problem with these im facing . I recently purchased it and charged it completely. I noticed that the right earbud drops battery very fast as compared to the left one. If you Google it you’d see it’s a common problem with this model of earbuds. Withing 40mins of listening to music the right ones dropped battery while the left did not.
Seriously? I have the Jabra 75T's as well and the app is NOWHERE as detailed and adjustable as MY Soundcore's Liberty 4's app....and it's not even Close.
Great review. I have the Liberty Air 2’s and these look a bit smaller. Felt the 2’s were a bit bulky. Wish I could try the LDAC out. My Liberty 3 pros do sound great with my IPhone though. Battery life on Soundcore products are amazing also. I use my buds all day and can get to lunch without them needing to charge. That is with Transparency on. Most of my other buds last 4 to 5 hours with transparency on.
LDAC is overrated trust me you wouldn't notice it. LDAC is still a lossy codec meaning you will still experience some compression. I've tried LDAC and lossless using a 2.5mm balanced cable and I still could just barely hear the difference(using Tidal master quality).

Comedy not fair revie.w The Anker Soundcore Liberty 4 have poor treble accuracy. The range is very overemphasized across the range and is more prominent in the right driver. As a result, vocals and instruments are harsh and painful while sibilants are piercing and painful.
