Thanks to Out Of Season for the approval.
This video is for promotional use only.
Well if just the prologue is over 97 minutes, I can't wait for the whole thing!
Its actually a compilation of previous works but yeah.
This is the artist's earliest works from 2015-2016 collected into one package, not a current new album.
Here's some more oldschool dungeon synth!

Whoosh.....
Guess, anyone who likes that kind of music, may be a patient one.
Dropping by to say thank you to everyone who has purchased this collection so far on CD, Digital or Tape! We'll be working to release some of the material from this collection on vinyl in the future too. Up next we have releases from Morketsvind, Mournful Moon, ForestTemple/ShadowDungeon, and some older title represses too! Regards!
Thanks, Cant wait!
One thing to say Out of Season, pleaseeeee!!!, I need that your label edit that LP edition, because you know what happened with forest temple last edition on LP, Goatowarex took this opportunity and is a label that in 3 minutes they sold everything, and really to be honest we work and have things to do, not sit all day pressing F5 every minute to get a copie of that LP
Thanks a lot, and the best vibes for your label
@@danielalejandroheredialoza6804 Thanks mate, we try to make our releases on OoS as widely available as possible and easy to buy for you guys. Hopefully we can make some more great reissues in 2021. 👊
Don't forget Fief as well!
Hey, don't know if you know, but what's that sample at 2:54? It sounds sort of familiar and I can't put my finger on it
I like how the songs in this album each have a pairing
Narchost - Carchost: the two guard towers in the towers of the teeth
Angband - Ard Galen: Ard Galen was a complete contrast to the thangorodrim until Dagor Bragollach, with green fields
Ringil - Grond: Ringil was the sword of Fingolfin, the high king of the Noldor who challenged Morgoth. Morgoth had, you guessed it, grond
Isenmouthe - Ered Lithui: Pass in the northwestern Mordor, and Ered Lithui the mountains of ash that protected the land
Numenor - Felling of Nimloth: Numenoreans felled Nimloth shortly before the sinking of their high civilization and the utter doom that awaited most of the dunedain
UA-cam recommending random bands to me is what I imagine it was like to buy records/cds when trying to find new music where you just pick the coolest album art and see if its good.
Record stores still exist, although in smaller number. You could still have this experience if you want to.
Great Tolkien inspired dungeon synth. So epic and so tragic sounds of ancient legend.
The Silmarillion bring me here!!!
A human of quality!!! So few comments are related to The Silmarillion!!! So many people saying things like ‘Hail Thangorodrim’ and I’m silently just like ‘oh hell no it’s a bad place people’
over an hours in character creation and another in the prologue --RPGs vibes.
Since Jeremy Soule probably isn’t going to be composing the next Elder Scrolls game soundtrack, can we get this band, Old Tower, Old Sorcery, Caladan Brood, and Summoning to be the soundtrack??
I like the way this guy thinks
hell yes
my dream
that would be orgasmic !
Thangorodrim and Fief are same guy. He’s also friends with Jake from the Caladan Brood.
One of the best dungeon synth artists!
Why should i pay for a spotify subscription if they sponsor crappy authors and also they have none of the goody goodness of this stuff? Love Thangorodrim! I toast for a long life filled with many more releases!
Because its convenient
@@MasterCowsChaos how is paying to skip bad songs convenient
@@Bathory_Bear are you asking me why having instant and unrestricted access to 35 million songs is convenient?
@@MasterCowsChaos Yes.
THat and they censor a lot of artists. If Varg ever started making political work, he'd be screwed. The real music is in the DIY underground, irregardless of genre.
I rarely ever like any video on this site but this deserved a like for a reminder of some of the best and most captivating feelings of immersion I have had for a long time. It's like being transported into a fantasy realm and experiencing all of the joys, trials, tribulations and wonder through the soundscape.
Many of the dungeon synth works evoke this feeling and are timeless pieces of masterwork craft.
In love with the artwork!
Brilliant! So minimalist yet conveying so much thought and energy.
I’m really digging both the sound and the cover art.
Atop the earthen peaks, scorched black by aeons of fiery breath, circled by fearsome beasts of mythology. It is there where legends are birthed and heroes forged.
Prophecy foretold; when the land rivets with strive and struggle the primordial peaks shall echo, and from there shall rise one born of the wyverns and the dragons.
Thangorodrim always has great melodies.
This masterpiece just showed up in my feed, and I clicked on it for the artwork and reference to Melikor... But it blew my socks off! I don't know what I was expecting, this is the first time I've been exposed to "dungeonsynth", but listening honestly just inspired me to have my next rpg group involve Angmar heavily in their adventures... The atmosphere is perfection, thank you for making such wonderful art!
I'm taking a break from long, perilous journeys and hanging out at the Green Dragon Pub for awhile 🍻
I understand now. It's the prelude to Akalabeth! So beautiful. Thank you.
Love this! Someone that knows!!
Fantastic work, a perfect specimen of the genre and a great introduction to Dungeon Synth
Put it on, couldn't turn it off. Thank you Thangorodrim.
One of the best releases by OoS this year. Thangorodrim is the master!
God I hate this abuse of acronyms. What is that supposed to mean?
The label Out of Season, you got it in the description above.
You dont listen to much music, do ya?
@@loikperezrenouard9398 Thanks man much appreciated. I hope you achieved great things with that 1 sec you saved writing OoS instead of Out Of Season
@@rcautela7405 No big boy, it happens to be huge world outside of the Out Of Season label (which can be abbreviated in OoS)
Wonderful, thank you so much!!🌻
Que obra de Arte!!
Maravilhoso
Definitely one of the greatest.
Outstanding and mesmerizing!!!!! Hail Thangorodrim!!!!!!
I sometimes wonder what age the average DS fan is...
Perfect music for thinking about castles and mighty warriors.
I reckon 30-35 is the average age. Old enough to have grown up pre-internet and experienced some form of RPG.
39
I'm 19 going on 20 for statistical purposes
35 🤘📸
@@raccoonrecordsnz I myself am 21 years old, grew up with the internet but grew a fascination for old school RPG´s (Morrowind,Dark Souls,Oblivion) and Magic the Gathering.
Edit: I thought, that it would gather teens like synthwave does
Wonderful
The legend return

This is exactly what I was looking for, brilliant stuff,

Easily the best DS artist

Thats so good album

For long the land has remained peaceful; without strife, without turmoil. Then the earthen peaks rumbled and from this rumble was born fearsome beasts of fiery scales, who then descended upon all the land. One by one the kingdoms fell as they were reduced to smoulders, for nothing could hinder or halt the great dragons in their campaign of destruction. Eventually the peaks rumbled once more, this time letting out a terrifying roar as ashen miasma filled the now reddened skies, while burning rock rained down. After the earthen peaks had settled, after the lands had been scorched black, after the ash had settled; all that remained was a barren world, irritated by the red burning sky.
Yet from this unprecedented calamity would rise a single man, one born of the same scale as the dragons themselves, to bear the flame, the very flame that brought ruin, and turn it into the instrument of prophecy. Soon kings and warriors were heralded from all corners of the world to praise the new flame, in a newborn defiance against the tyrant rule of the dragons. This defiance came to be called: The Everflame pact.
Now it is time for the brave and the adventurous to rise to the occasion and band with the Everflame pact; so arise, hero, seeker of justice, arise, adventurer, seeker of new land, arise soldier, seeker of treasure. Arise! Arise all to the great mission to defy the draconic order!
Is this a Dance of Dragons ref?
Damn this really hits while reading the nirnaeth arnoediad
currently sculpting a 3D dragon model for the end of my art course, I’m going to use this for inspiration. 🐉
Classic! Ranks up there with Mortiis!
I really like the artwork, a unique style
unique? its a seminal style.
Much loved in the maps of Tolkien, born in the hands of medieval scribes.
A tribute to old myth, a reminder of the ongoing tale of the fantastical journey of man
@@mr.dalerobinson I challenge you then to show me one single Tolkien map, and one single medieval illuminated manuscript in which dragons, volcanoes, and the sky looks like that
@@ewaldseiland8558 Idk what that guy says about medieval, but as for Tolkien he is right, check out Torin's Map from Hobbit - it is both in book and is shown briefly in Fellowship of the Ring. The Mountain look rather similar as well as the dragon, main difference is the colour.
Had a wonder binding of issac run listening to this
AAAAAAAAARGH I LOVE THIS
Listening to this while reading the alchemist 🌅
Reminds me of Old-School CRPG music like Lands of Lore etc.. Cool!
I have honestly no idea what Dungeon Synth is, I guess it must have something to do with DnD. But I want to thank you for this amazing music! The first 15 minutes just squeezed a nice beginning of a chapter out of the depths of my imagination. It is about a king who just fed a foreign embassador to his red dragon. :)
Nah, it's not specifically about DnD although people do like associating this genre with it. Mostly it's reminiscent of old fantasy videogame music, using MIDI-like tones to set a sorta dreamy mood.
The genre actually originated within the black metal scene in the 80s and 90s, when the first song on a black metal album followed this style. It has evolved into its own thing since, and now it has many subgenres of its own.
It's music inspired by old 90-s games! Here some!

@@DrossProwler whats a good early 90s BM album with dungeon synth interludes?
Oh fuck, that first song slaps so hard.
🤓
“ Music of Ainur and The Creation of Arda ”
Quite a few audio glitches in this upload unfortunately, but I suppose that incentivises purchasing the album, doesn't it? He's an amazing artist well worth supporting.
No song has ever captured the gloomy feeling of an Empire past its prime such as this~
damn this totally rules \m/
Wow
Woooowwwwwwww
Gives me the same feeling as revisiting Morrowind
👍👍
Some loop Fief at start... then Thangorodroeimoheimomoeindimodindomson
Literally the same person behind both projects
He earned well the eolic
Who all is here for Melkor and the rest of the Angband gang?

Reminds me of later albums of Burzum.
Holy shit, I come back to this just because of min 20:14
So god damn epic
This and zelda. Hell yess!
I'm literally a knight
jo ma boy! it wpuld be great if you could include a tutorial to your music on how to unsummon the dragons and wizards if done listening. thx

Thangorodrim saves
how am I a week late on the new Thangorodrim album ? Need to get my shit together
Intro sounds a bit like Cobblestone & Magic from Fief I, but I'm not complaining
WOW! Cover art is by whom? No account on spotify ?
makes me feel like I'm in age of empires
like old albums of Elffor
😮😮😮😮
Would it be possible to purchase this for use on a UA-cam channel?
I don't get why this is referred to as 'old school' dungeon synth. It wasn't originally released in the 90s and its not particularly lofi (no tape hiss). It was made in 2020. Its just Dungeon Synth, nothing 'old school' about it, but still good.
Think it's referring to the overall style bud
W hoah.
When is the rest of this coming out?
