Youngsters, please take note. When you can play, sing, and sound just as good or better then your recordings, with just an acoustic guitar, and singing with no drums, bass, keys, etc, then you know you are a great musician.

Some have so much music inside, that they can't keep it under lock, they sing and play and leave traces...

Your right, i totally agree.... nothing throws u back to a time and place in your life with any more clarity and certainty than when you hear a song from that particular moment.... instantly your thrown back in time! Just like if i crush the leaf of a tomato plant and smell it BAM instantly im thrown back 35 years to when i was 4 years old living on the family farm... wierd i know and funny thing is i dont even remember a vegie garden there but all i know is whenever i smell the leaves on a tomato plant i know it makes me feel happy INSTANTLY, and if for only a second im that 4 year old boy again 🙂

Chaddons Chaddons I agree, it seems just like yesterday since I was in my Grandmothers kitchen/ living room/ bedroom watching a severed pigs head bouncing up and down in a large saucepan of boiling water balanced on the hot coals of a open fire, the staring eyes of pity full porcine followed me around that 16ft by 16ft living space, then my Grandfather seeing I was disturbed by the dance of death being portrayed before my prepubescent eyes handed me the severed leg of a chicken he had just despatched plucked and dismembered, he showed me how to pull the still warm tendon that protruded from that now useless limb and make the four digits expand and contract, I miss those happy days, TIME FLIES IT REALY DOES.

Even though I have seen this video a few times now, I had to watch it again today! First time seeing Men at Work in Monterey back in 1981 or there about, as a young 26 year old guitar player tending bar at the local Hell's Angle's club, pretty much changed my attitude of guitar playing and utilizing arpeggio playing in rock tunes... Duh... nobody was doing it except for guys like Greg Lake, Steve Howe and a handful of others. Great players for sure, But.... Colin took it to a level of a poet with a guitar. So... 30 years later, give or take. I see Colin again, on his own. Solo guitar in a bar.... WTF !! And saw this happen... I had pretty much put my guitar away for my profession as a contractor building custom homes... Now, at 66 and retired, I sit around and play all of Colin's songs acoustically, fingerstyle, jamming with a few friends and built a nice home recording studio. So put your headphones on, get on Colin's home UA-cam site and listen to his latest version of Men At Work, and play.... Got it? Do it, do it right now.... This man will go down in history as one of the top writers, guitar players and generally one of the best troubadours of all time. (Troubadour-Wandering Poet and musician). My wife and I go see Colin as often as we can. Love his stories, though I think I know all of them now... Like Ringo said... I know all my stories, I want to hear yours. Thanks, Colin, and Norm!!! Great. Next time, make sure the phones ringer is off. LOL

This guy is one of the reasons I miss the 80’s. Another great song from a great time to be alive.

Colin is so great. Sat 3' from him at Le Express during a solo set back in the '80s.
Thanks Norman for doing what you do!

I love this version. I downloaded this video and convert it to audio. And always listen to it everytime I walk home at night from work.

So many great songs from the forgotten ( mostly) Men At Work, glad to see Colin is still around.
