I remember how bs this mission was on hard mode. Despite having a Jedi on your side, and all those vehicles, the AI just cannot do much without you. Very nice killstreak though!
God I loved the LAAT gunship in this game, its one of the things I loved about the original BF that 2 didn't have with a few exceptions, starfighters on ground battles.
Right? It's so much fun to load it up with a full squad. Definitely miss having starfighters/gunships on ground battles too. Also miss being able to go prone and the hud looks too simplistic compared to the original.
@@StarMarshal Indeed, going prone as a sniper and just camping on some of the larger maps like this one and Hoth and Rhen Var was weirdly immersive. The first battlefront felt like even if you were the main powerhouse it still felt like a challenge on harder difficulties, usually cause the friendly AI isn't that great, but definitely having star fighters and the HUD being more detailed was nice. The Dune Sea map often id just get in a Tie and take pot shots at Tuskens and zoom around again, I feel like the ships were pretty maneuverable in this game.
@@Ashguy733 the friendly AI definitely needs to be babysat when playing on hard mode. They will at times just stand in the middle of nowhere or won't capture a command post until you're there. I also loved maps where there was a third party like tusken raiders so it could cause a three front battle. Also Heroes were near invincible (unless you crush them, launch them off the map, or lure them to the sarlac pit).
@@StarMarshal I haven't played it in awhile, but were Heroes even playable in this game? Or just AI inserts? I was genuinely curious, because I feel like BF2 focused more on playable heroes, space combat and special classes that kinda made the maps in that game a little less then this one. Like the larger maps like the Geonosis one aren't as plentiful in BF2.
@@Ashguy733 no, that's one of the biggest reasons people loved BF2 was because that was when heroes became playable. Ironically, they were balanced to a degree back then which is why they feel so broken in Dice's version of the series. Funnily enough, I dusted off my BF2 CD and noticed right away how ugly the Geonosis map was. The skybox looks really bad compared to the original and the layout is very uninspiring. At least BF2 did Galactic Conquest better in my opinion.
One thing that i much love SWB 1 rather than SWB 2 is that they served us with jet fighter/gunship in battleground. It's easy to smash the enemy on air.
i never look up how to play missions but this one broke me, no matter what i did my team was being obliterated, and all i needed to do was sit in a gunship the whole game lol
CIS has K:D of 3:1. This is such a tough map when AI drags you down that fast CIS ended up with 202 kills and the rest of the republic had 70. nice work
*The Clone Wars: Zero Hour. Everything changes, for better and for worse.* 0:05: They didn't destroy all forces. It's like the First Battle of Bull Run, only "the good guys" won this battle in some degree. And while all this is happening, a lot of clone commandoes get clobbered by being placed in battlezones not suitable for their mission parameters. Of course, units like Delta Squad end up very lucky, though there are occasional failures like Theta Squad. Oh, and Jedi like Eeth Koth (unless we're talking about the Alt-universe, where he somehow survived, albeit with the probable death of Sora Bulq, who survived in Legends and ended up a dark acolyte loyal to Dooku) and Ur-Sema Du perish. 0:38: Some dead Muun guy named Hego Damask. Good thing you ordered to Pile In. Those clones sure aren't like those UNSC Marines and Army troopers. Geonosis: Spire sure is a blast to play. The Dust Plains map substituting it in the sequel is still good, but the lack of notable air support really makes it a bit lacking. Personally, I would have charged towards the enemy frontline and rocket spammed the Techno Union Hardcell-class ships while weaving away from their retaliatory fire. It's difficult but doable. Now, for three long years of war, with battlefronts ranging from Muunilinst, Dantooine, Hypori, Mon Cala, bloody Jabiim (which arguably gotten lucky in the Alt-universe, as hinted so far in the Kenobi miniseries), Rendili, Honoghr, Atraken, Brentaal IV, Boz Pity, the Triad of Evil (the Confederacy of Independent Systems planets Saleucami, Mygeeto, and Felucia) and more.
I just decided to play this game after not touching it for like at least decade, probably more... I learned that I played this game on medium as a kid... Losing reinforcements because the AI can't keep a command post for more than 5s is brutal.
A lot of invasion forces, the Nazis included, might beg to differ. Trust me, there are surprising perks to being the side that gets struck first and becomes the defender for a long while.
Fucking Droidekas! They are OP. The moment they set up, your teamate count decreasing faster then time countdown! And the only thing that can break they shield fast is vehicles. Grenade launcher won't help.
Good strategy! As different other strategies failed for me. But still a lot of effort. I ended up barely winning 5-1 since the friendly AI is so deficient 😅
Clone troopers used to fight to destroy evil. In Revenge Of The Sith Palpatine revealed his dark secret and ordered the Republic to destroy the Jedi Knights. All but Anakin Skywalker Obi Wan Kenobi and Yoda were killed. The Republic has then become the Empire and it was the beginning of the Galactic Civil War between the Empire and the Rebel Alliance
Dude this mission is so shit. And on steam I swear there is no difference in difficulty from easy to hard. Although I actually got closer to winning on hard
I couldn't beat this lvl in my childhood, thought I'm too unexperienced in shooters, but I can't beat it 15 years later, and now I can see clearly, it wasn't my fault. The game is unbalanced.

Not to mention it has native support as well so just another obstacle that slows/kills your team.
One last separatists survivor : Droideka.

The clone commandos on Geonosis are both tragic and really, REALLY funny
180 kills?! Did you really just do almost all the work for your team? Even with a Jedi helping?!
Mace must've been distracted given how big the map is. I've seen it where the Hero will just chase after one unit and then get lost.
@@doommarine1667 chasing after one Geonosian while the rest of the clones are dying by the scores to droidekas
Yea, this map really does feel impossible with how slow you can walk and shoot on the ground...
Fun Fact: Temuera Morrison is the voice of the clones & Republic announcer.
No shit

Losing reinforcements because the AI can't keep a command post for more than 5s is brutal.
This is tricky but what I will sometimes do when taking out the Technouoin Ships is I would try 2 take a Hailfire Droid & blast away at them.😎
Oh, never thought of that. Always thought the AT-TE was the fastest way to destroy them.
He who strikes first wins 😎
A lot of invasion forces, the Nazis included, might beg to differ. Trust me, there are surprising perks to being the side that gets struck first and becomes the defender for a long while.
The good old LAAT gunship.😎
Firing beam cannons!
By far the most frustrating mission. I got 160 kills and still only won by 5. For some reason friendly AI refuse to capture command posts.
I 🤍 the Republic victory theme.🙂
Well said.
Fucking Droidekas! They are OP. The moment they set up, your teamate count decreasing faster then time countdown! And the only thing that can break they shield fast is vehicles. Grenade launcher won't help.
That's precisely why I don't feel bad about using the gunship.
Damn, you're good at this game!
I'm trying to play this mission in the remake and no matter what I do I can't win
Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones - Star Wars: Battlefront (Classic) - The Battle of Geonosis (Separatist Crisis)
NPCs: Geonosian Soldiers
Hero: Jedi Master Mace Windu
Vehicles: LAAT Gunships & AT-TE Walkers (Galactic Republic); OG-9 Homing Spider Droids & IG-227 Hailfire-class Droid Tanks (Separatist Alliance)
Good strategy! As different other strategies failed for me. But still a lot of effort. I ended up barely winning 5-1 since the friendly AI is so deficient 😅

Can it be beaten without this method?? I don't think so but just wondering
Great job
Good guys wear white.😎
I don't know, blue, purple, and pink are getting really popular nowadays for the forces of light across the Multiverse.
@@michaelandreipalon359 I was talking about what the clones would say in the Clone Campaign expansion in Galactic Battlegrounds.
I know. I was just getting correctiony all of a sudden, hehe.
Lmaoo it’s 2022 and I been doing this mission shit loads of times before a win…
Dude this mission is so shit. And on steam I swear there is no difference in difficulty from easy to hard. Although I actually got closer to winning on hard
it seems the only way to beat it is with the gunships, your team are just bullet sponges and have the accuracy of stromtroopers
@@TheRevMan I hate how unbalanced the friendly and enemy AI are. You have to do literally everything yourself.

Maybe that’s my problem. I can’t see stuff at all, how are you getting all those kills?
By shooting them with the gunship.
Hell yeah
God I remember my copy always crashes on this level only and I can’t progress
Yoy gotta love how the Laat actually acts a gunship here
Shame they remove this bf2
This is ps2?
180 kills
Ridiculous that this is the strategy lmao
