Thanks Jeremy. Faguinho Chaves is one of the best keyboard players in Brazil and in addition to music producer and samplers. He presented this keyboard on his channel and gave a good impression, but in yours hand , everything turns to gold
You are such a great source of experience and advice and you have made great comparison videos that made all of the difference for me to be comfortable with my purchases.
Medeli has been making his own brand‘s keyboards and e-drums for nearly 40 years. But their brands are mainly targeted at the low-end market and are very popular in Africa. Even most Chinese musicians don't know them. And Medeli's another main business is to help Kurzweil, KORG, M-Audio, ALESIS, ddrum, Simmons Drums, KAT Drums......and many other brands to manufacture instruments. It's like a builder who has built too many houses, he can also become an architect to design some blueprints. I think some techs or UI in this unit are not copied, but authorized by Yamaha. It may even be that Yamaha wants to use Medeli to seize the low-end market, and share profits together. It happened before, some Medeli keyboards use the same Kurzweil sound library. By the way, the management in OEM factories nowadays is very, very strict. For example, Foxconn, which makes iPhones, can't even secretly make one more iPhone itself. Apple can track every single chip and motherboard. Not to mention plagiarism, losing huge OEM orders for unknown markets. In fact, the relationship between the OEM factory and these world-famous brands is very good. There will be a lot of problems in the manufacturing process (just like an architect's scheme, may easy to draw but hard to build in the real world). These OEM factories will help these brands a lot to solve a lot of problems. In return, these brands will also provide Medeli with some tech support. Why do I know these? My friend's factory makes headphone for Sennheiser, SONY, BOSE, AKG and so on. Even some new model, SONY just came to the OEM factory and choose the speaker unit. They just design the shell. XD
At last my dreamy wish has come true. Indeed I have been waiting for almost last 15 years to see Cheap China clone Workstation Keyboards but in good quality for musicians as they mostly do with smartphones and I am sure this will end the monopoly of Korg, Roland and YAMAHA..Thanks for breaking this news JEREMY!
Very nice look, but what about the quality of the keybed ? And the sounds ? And the speakers ? I have the impression that Medeli have put a PSR-E463 in a PSR-SX body... So I'm not sure it's better than a PSR-S670...
Based on the price of this unit, it looks like Yamaha is making a very sweet profit on their arranger keyboards. I hope Medeli sends you a test unit. Excellent reporting, Jeremy.
I'm sure Yamaha is certainly making good profit. But there is still nothing in the class of the PSR-S/SX series. It's so easy to make music with them.. Just that they are too expensive. You'll need more effort with, say, a Roland BK or Casio CT-X.
and AKX10 operates very close to SX900 / Genos, only the styles and voices quality need to be improved with firmware upgrades. AKX hardware look very good.
10:46 - It's the same Live! Classical/Nylon Guitar present on PSR-2100 (I still have my PSR-2100) and released first on PSR-9000. This guitar sound was present until Tyros 1 and PSR-3000. This Medeli AKX10 is a copy from previous Yamaha keyboards such as PSR-S, Tyros 1 and legacy top models, but I consider that this keyboard can be an attractive choice. I was studying its owner's manual and I could see that all voices are 100% compatible with GM/GM2 standard, many of them can be copy from special Yamaha voices such as Live, Sweet and Cool.
Ciao Jeremy complimenti per il video , chiedo la keyboard visualizza anche midi karaoke e mp3 karaoke ? non trovo nessun riscontro in altri video thank by by
Hi Jeremy and thanks for review . Hi everyone here. Advice you the functions and sound of Akx10 for small normals live performances?. Please let me know the potential of Akx10
I'd be really interested in this keyboard(though I do prefer traditional workstation keyboards.) Perhaps Medeli could make their version of the Korg Krome EX??
Hello sir jeremy, i am one of your fans here in youtube. I baught medeli aw830 aspire 76keys organ online. But unfortunately, there was no manual inluded in the package sent to me by the seller. I am a visually impaired person from the philippines. I would like to ask big favor to you sir. Can you please make a complete tutorial on how to use this medeli keyboard? The sound of this organ is very much beautiful than the other competitors with the same amount of price. But I'm not familiar the many functions of the organ. I hope that this favor will be granted by a yours, Sir.. thank you very much and more power to your channel.
Hi Jeremy, I have been distributing Korg keyboards in my country for many many years, and I do know that the Korg factory publishes a list price named something like "Medeli factory", so I am 100% sure that Medeli manufactures many Korg pianos and keybords. And my friend that distributes Yamaha in another country told me that Medeli also manufactures keyboards for Yamaha: both Medeli and Yamaha share the same main circuit board. I have also distributed Medeli keyboards for 10 years or more and I can assure you that they are highest quality!...after hundreds or thousands of pianos and keyboards sold in 10 years, almost 0% come back for technical service. The quality is incredible good!!!
Since you already have the PSR-S970, my gut feeling is to go for PSR-SX. Going for PA, it's learning everything all over again. But if you're willing, it's fine as well.
Medeli AKX10 has "chord velocity" feature that I could not find on Tyros, Genos. With chord velocity, the style is played with soft or loud volume based on how hard one play chords with left hand. Pretty useful feature as it allows the style to be played with some dynamics, similar to touch response for right hand playing. This feature makes a lot of sense. Correction about: "Yamaha can certainly add this feature with a simple firmware upgrade BUT .... as usual, Yamaha holds it OFF for "next generation" keyboard forcing us to buy new models". YES, Yamaha keyboards also have this feature, I start using it from now on.
But what about its material quality? Such questions should also be raised for other famous brands! Because I have seen many of my friends who purchased costly famed brands spending their hard earned money and at a later stage came to a hault facing issues from keybed, joystick, soft buttons & so on !!! For myself even, I had to shove- off a Yamaha psr 295 which started showing issues with its unresponsive keys! It is us who bow down to these famous brands & never doubt their internal qualities but face problems short time after purchase!!!
Medeli is really good, I have a Medeli SP400 which can be considered a "clone" of the Alesis Coda Pro, but no, is a really good digital piano. It has 88 fully weighted keys, it has front headphone jacks which I love, frontal usb, nice screen. And it's roughly $400-$499 USD not bad at all.
Hi Jeremy, can AKX10 play MP3 files? so if I download a MP3 file on to the keyboard, will I be able to play it? and how does the Bluetooth work in this?
Nice keyboard and a lot of really great sounds. I just wish the speakers were rear mounted. Top mounted speakers always make the keyboard look like a toy.
sincerely you think that for a first arranger keyboard it is good to take this one ?? I will not be disappointed with the piano sounds? or guitar or sax?
We are now 1 or 2 years later, I was able to play on the Medeli AKX10, but there are no other styles for sale or extra sounds...and that makes Yamaha, among others, so attractive, I don't see anything on their European website either , no updates and extra packs... finally I can report that Yamaha styles (with the .sty extension) don't work on the AKX10, it just doesn't read them. Have you tested all that? Jeremy??
Well, most are already singing it's praises however I will withhold my opinion until Jeremy actually gets one, tests and reviews it. It may or may not do so well then. I also play accordion and am familiar with some Chinese ones. Lots of glitter however when you get under the hood, they sometimes don't glider as much. At this point. there are to many answered questions. Yamaha needs to upgrade the E series and fill in the gap between then E473 and the SX700 perhaps by fixing the aging S670.
Hi Jeremy, thanks for the great review. I am playing with the idea of getting an Arranger Keyboard and watched many of your videos on Arrangers. It is very helpful to get your unbiased opinion and I appreciate you always also pointing out the things you do not like about a specific device. No machine is perfect and there are always compromises to be made. I have a question: You present the AKX10 as a competitor to the SX900. But isn’t it a much more a competitor to the SX700? The price gap to the SX900 is huge, but the SX700 is not too far away. Speaking of the SX700: Would you recommend to pay the extra money (720€ vs 1160€ in Germany) to get the SX700 instead of the AKX10? I would be willing to pay that if the sounds and styles and maybe the quality of the keyed are significantly better. One thing that draws me towards the Yamaha is the access to many additional styles (free and commercial). I really like the AKX10 panel though. The three real time knobs with switchable assignments remind me of many workstations (Korg Nautilus, Krome, Kross,…) and are pretty useful I guess. Keep up the great work.
Two of the things that I like about the PSR-900SX are the way you can record sections of a song and then rearrange them, and the chord looper. Both seem to be absent on this?
Exactly same sounds and Styles from Yamaha. At 9:15 you can listen to the StudioKit drum set and the Sweet Soprano sax both from Tyros2. At 10:25 same British Pop Style with the Standard Kit drum set. At 11:28 the DanceKit drum set. All sounds come from Tyros1 / 2.
I only saw your video today. I have bought Medeli A1000 (which I found 5 years ago on a local music store, and it impressed me so much that time). The Medeli A1000 had one of those styles that were mentioned. I think this model (Medeli AKX10 is an upgrade of Medeli A1000, on top of what they had features, but this new one impressed me so much. I have been wondering is there any way to make custom sound samples or instruments on Medeli A1000 and I had been searching around the Internet, but found nothing. I would be very interested to get the Medeli AKX10 once I have saved enough money for it. Very impressive keyboard and workstation. Thank you for the video, Jeremy!
What is really missing. No lyrics e.g. when you play with midifiles or as a *.txt file to a style. Also Sync Start seems not to be possible to save in a performance. Sorry, these things needs to be fixed. Also a 76 key version would be great for more professional use.
If Medeli can provide more support, fix some minor software issues on the AKX10, provide "pro voices" pack, "style" pack, Medeli can compete hand on hand with Yamaha. Of course, as long as the price is low as it is now.
We seems to have another Behringer lol. I just need a stop-gap keyboard until I can afford another analogue. I'm just currently stuck with a bunch of monos. Out of the cheaper medeli keyboards like the M17, MK100, or others please Jeremy, do you know if they're reasonable I've only heard UA-cam video so far? Really mostly after some half-decent piano sounds. And maybe some strings. They cloned Kurzweil and now Yamaha
Thanks J.. Nice to see competition... Good luck to them...look at the car market and how well Eastern Europe and China have done!! Could do with a copy of a korg with the EK's OS. Another year or two it will all be on apps. and we will only need a controller board and tablet, so they are just sweeping up the last possible sales opportunities ... Keith
So, how this compares to Yamaha PSX600. If Medeli had some learning modes and lyrics display mode like Yamaha, it would be just great. How is the quality of the sounds? Number of them doesn't really matter.
Medeli OEM for quite a number of brands. But, as far as I know, Yamaha still has their own plant in Indonesia, Vietnam and India and manufactures everything themselves. The Medeli AKX10 isn't officially released yet. Nov is the targeted release date.
@@logicnext9230 For your knowledge, they also design stuff. They have universities with new engineers coming out as pop corn. The government promotes invention and creativity on young people so, they don't need to copy. Sure they did copy a lot but things are changing. That is why usa is worried of competition. Just look for ASM Hydrasynth and JDI to name a couple.
Medeli Styles Compared With Different Names With Yamaha's Original 9:15= Cool8Beat (Came On The S710 As the First Style) 9:46= ContempRock (Arrrghh My Favorite Style) 10:21= BritPopRock (Full E4 Series First Style) 10:47=Sernetejo (E263,E363,E463, I Don't Know Yamaha Will Add Different Names) 11:48= FoxRot (Very Rotten Classic Style lmao) 12:12= Cool8Beat (E Series and The PSR Portatone Original Arranger Workstations) 12:42= Tango (A Variation) 12:59=Hardrock (E And PSR Portatone Original Arranger Workstations Series) Clone Of YAMAHA That Keyboard Looks Wierd Though, Way Lesser Detail Then SX900/SX700. OOF
Medeli making a Yamaha clone is not a new thing. They have been doing that stuff since the PSR-S950 era (2012-13). Go check out Medeli A1000 and A800. As usual, they "stole" some of Yamaha's sounds, with obviously lower quality samples. Medeli also made some digital pianos containing Yamaha clone samples
hi i am one of your subscriber can you help me how to avail korg microARRANGER ,my keyboard stole someone so i need keyboard brother cheapest one i think Korg MicroARRANGER is enough for i cannot find here in the Philippines need it badly thanks
Hi Jeremy, Definitely looks like an SX but sounds more like an E series. 10:45 Are those birds are singing or something along with the acoustic guitar? Sounds that something is trying to emulate a super articulation voice with no success. Lot's of features indeed but the sounds, well... Just listen to your playing with an s670 and then check again the voices of the AKX10 and what you are hearing. More than descent sounds though, I agree to that. I hope Mendeli will send you a model for a review.
I will have a more thorough listen and in-depth review when I get my hands on unit. It will definitely not be as good as a Yamaha SX, but for $800, I think it gives some serious competition.
No, Yamaha may not be worried because it is only for piano bar. It's beat is not that cool and I regret I took that keyboard instead of a Yamaha PSR because it is way better than this Medeli keyboard. Not all beat that you put on it from another keyboard will be good. Very disappointing.
Firm ware issues, issues with arrangers is bug fixes need to be done no matter the brand. Yamaha is the best of the bunch. You pay for what you get. Quality vs quantity.
Thanks Jeremy.

How to get this keyboard? Halo I m from Malaysia
Hello, congratulations on the information!
Great playing on the Medeli, Faguinho. 🍻

Better to go with psr sx900
Can you show us all electronic pianos presets of the aswell pls? am very curious
Im in India... Where should i buy this
For home user, what u consider, yamaha sx600 or medeli akx10
I didnt get any comments on the vide on what styles this uses. Are they .stl like Roland or .sty like yamaha and will further styles be available .
Can you info the shop who sell this item ini Singapore please ?
Definitely I gonna get one , upgrade from Medeli A 1000. this board if you customize it sound awesome.thanks Jeremy for this news.
What is the Indian cost of this Keybord
So we have only 3 types of vocal harmony and on sx 900 they are many rigth?
Medeli AKX10 has "chord velocity" feature that I could not find on Tyros, Genos. With chord velocity, the style is played with soft or loud volume based on how hard one play chords with left hand. Pretty useful feature as it allows the style to be played with some dynamics, similar to touch response for right hand playing.
This feature makes a lot of sense.

YES, Yamaha keyboards also have this feature, I start using it from now on.
S770 can do it
Could be that Yamaha & Korg charge too much for their tech?
Just like "Apple" tax.

Another year or two it will all be on apps. and we will only need a controller board and tablet, so they are just sweeping up the last possible sales opportunities ...
Keith
Thanks for sharing, Keith. You are right. Even the Steinway grand pianos comes packaged with an iPad preloaded with Steinway's apps.
Its medeli AKX 20 best arranger. Where can get
So, how this compares to Yamaha PSX600. If Medeli had some learning modes and lyrics display mode like Yamaha, it would be just great.
How is the quality of the sounds? Number of them doesn't really matter.
السلام عليكم هل الميدلي افضل من يامهاa5000?
I live in the USA. Where can I purchase a Medeli AKX10 auto arranger?
Not out yet
To be honest it sounds like a PSR-9000 or PSR-3000 & Tyros 1
Clone of the design, interface and many features. Samples are definitely lower quality.
These Medeli arrangers have the same sounds as the older PSR models prior the S910/S710
Chord Progression looping?
I love the AKX10 sounds. I play a lot for church and funerals, etc. Could I hear some church music before I buy one.?
Jeremy .... did Medeli ever contact you about a demo unit .....thanks
They said they will try and arrange to send me a unit. But I have not heard from them since.
Para cuando en español?
Thanks for this Great Video. What Kind of Software and Mikrophone did you use?
I can not get one in the USA. Medeli makes keyboards for Kurzweil. Is Medeli making keyboards for Yamaha?
Medeli OEM for quite a number of brands. But, as far as I know, Yamaha still has their own plant in Indonesia, Vietnam and India and manufactures everything themselves. The Medeli AKX10 isn't officially released yet. Nov is the targeted release date.
Sam Ash sells Medeli keyboards.
Great video. Liked & subscribed.
I am from Indonesia.
Is the keyboard product already exported?
No.
Is casio lk60 good for beginner its affordable so is like too old or jus nice for beginner?
It's ok for beginners. But don't pay too much for it. It's about 20 years old.
I think this keyboard was actually made by Yamaha for Medeli.
Nope, Yamaha Japan Has Nothing to Do With China.
China is the headquaters of mastercopying
@@logicnext9230 For your knowledge, they also design stuff. They have universities with new engineers coming out as pop corn. The government promotes invention and creativity on young people so, they don't need to copy. Sure they did copy a lot but things are changing. That is why usa is worried of competition. Just look for ASM Hydrasynth and JDI to name a couple.
@@logicnext9230 Musically talking if you want to know about mastercopying look at beringher.
Medeli Styles Compared With Different Names With Yamaha's Original
9:15= Cool8Beat (Came On The S710 As the First Style)
9:46= ContempRock (Arrrghh My Favorite Style)
10:21= BritPopRock (Full E4 Series First Style)
10:47=Sernetejo (E263,E363,E463, I Don't Know Yamaha Will Add Different Names)
11:48= FoxRot (Very Rotten Classic Style lmao)
12:12= Cool8Beat (E Series and The PSR Portatone Original Arranger Workstations)
12:42= Tango (A Variation)
12:59=Hardrock (E And PSR Portatone Original Arranger Workstations Series)
Clone Of YAMAHA
That Keyboard Looks Wierd Though, Way Lesser Detail Then SX900/SX700.
Hi Jeremy,
Definitely looks like an SX but sounds more like an E series.
If something sounds too good to be true. . .
Yeah I bought a Medeli and found out the hard way.
No, Yamaha may not be worried because it is only for piano bar. It's beat is not that cool and I regret I took that keyboard instead of a Yamaha PSR because it is way better than this Medeli keyboard. Not all beat that you put on it from another keyboard will be good. Very disappointing.
Is this keyboard available in India?
Not so soon.
Ciao Jeremy can you consider to review Medeli Sp4200 I think this is a interesting keyboard and a super price of 399€. Thank you
Firm ware issues, issues with arrangers is bug fixes need to be done no matter the brand. Yamaha is the best of the bunch. You pay for what you get. Quality vs quantity.
What laptop are u using here?
hey Jeremy , looks like Yamaha came out with the psrsx 600 it's on UA-cam a couple of days ago
You might want to check again. 😉
I hope Medeli would make a comeback to Indonesian market
Which one is the best psr s975 or x900?
S975 is obsolete. Sx900 is the latest psr flagship
Sx900
When I get the Namm Im going to Both YAMAHA & MEDELI and ask them About each other I know all the PSR & Genos Programers Personaly
I swear the styles sound extremely similar, if not, identical to some styles I've heard in my Yamaha keyboard.
