Do you have a link to the design case study template you showed? I believe it would be really helpful for people struggling to break down their writing portion.
She provides this template on her website, however you do have to pay for the subscription to get access to ux exclusive videos and more tools she offers :)
Seriously, where is your badge?Soo many informative and actually applicable even to us,juniors uxers, stuff.Keep up,don't ever stop educating Christine,we love your content!💛
This is absolutely helpful and makes much more sense than the typical UX case studies, where you can't clearly see the thinking process behind the design. Thanks!
I have truly learned SO, so, so much in these last two videos I've seen by you! It makes me wish I'd have started this journey so much sooner. Thank you for producing these! You are truly a wealth of knowledge!
Loved this walkthrough, it was so thorough! And a lot of these tips are helpful even for PMs, like focusing on the 'why' and 'how' instead of the 'what'.
thank you so much for breaking everything down step by step and including easy to take in tips! getting started is pretty overwhelming but i find your breakdown really helpful
Aaaaaa Thank You So muchhhh, This could not have shown up at a better timing! I was literally searching for this hours before your post! Thank you so much!!!
Love the info! I recently heard about making a portfolio on Figma, by sharing the portfolio as a Figma Prototype, and I wanted to know your take on that! I think it could be a good idea but not sure
this WAS very helpful because i've done product design before and the truth about it is, it's a TON of back and fourth with users and sometimes even negotiating with the business and stakeholders when you might need to try and change a process with in a business in order for functionality to work. I wasn't sure if i should include all of that in my story with in my case study but now i think ill include the highlights
Thank you! Your channel helps me to really process all the overwhelming aspects of writing a case study. it is very rare to find someone who really simplifies the context and goes beyond what is usually taught to us in the courses and classes. This was extremely helpful! thank you so much!
Ty for this 💜 it's very informative and helpful. I remember watching one of your first ux videos about how you got started into ux design. You have come such a long way from then. As one of your subscribers who has been here since day one, I am proud of you!! I am currently in the same position you were in all of those years ago trying to break into the ux design industry. The videos you make are very helpful so thank you!!
I'm in the midst of building my portfolio, doing extensive research on case studies and best ways to tackle it. Love your video, very informative! Thank you for sharing. I'm a fan!!
I was really stressing out because I was feeling guilty to find myself being bored to hell to even start, but then to know designers feel the same way I am happy 😀
That is the kind of video that many need on this holiday season. Thanks a lot! (quick suggestion: the background music is a bit loud and got me at times distracted .)
Thank you so much for this- I was working on wireframe then my brain got exhausted from my brand design job. Good to know what I should include for UX portfolio; the components of case study is really a good tip!!
Hey chunbuns, I just wanted to say a big thank you for this video! It has been incredibly helpful to me. I was struggling with [topic] and your explanations really cleared things up for me. Keep up the great work and thanks again! #Grateful
This came out right when I needed it! Thanks Christine :) Follow up question for this video -- What's the best way for designers to bring up the awkward question of asking for permission to display metrics and live work on their portfolio to their manager? I've always struggled with this because it's essentially a sign that you're looking to leave the company since you're working on your portfolio.
Hey, this was very helpful. Could you also please make a video on how to come up with content for case studies? Some of us are just starting out the journey and could use soem guidance.
Finally a video on this topic 😍as for the past sometime I have been struggling with this very topic. Thank you for sharing this :). Also when you are beginner with no experience how do you choose topics or problem statement for the case study that will help you with job search ?
Thank you! I've been thinking my portfolio didn't have enough written content. Most of the time, being a creative thinker, ideas just pop up and I can't really explain it. How do you explain epiphanies, you can't. Research, research, research, then light bulb moment 💡. Other times there's just happy accidents, or better ideas that just happen while I'm working on a high fidelity/ interaction. I can start with one simple thing, then I add more as I go. Honestly, I don't see the point of making low fidelity Greyscale Wireframes when I know how to design. It seems better to sketch on paper, then get to the real design to do real usability testing.
Should we display ALL the frames of our project in a case study? Or just the super interesting ones that hone in on the problem you solved? I'm not sure if they would want to see the whole layout of my app to make sure I have a "complete idea" if they only view portfolios for 5mins
The tips are really so helpful and to-the-point. I just need to understand the part that would be different as a UX researcher not a designer. I can see it will be in "the design process" part but how different is my question ❓Also, I can understand that the researches done contain info that should be kept private, so what info should I mention and what should be hidden is always a matter of wonder 🤔?! Would appreciate if you can answer my questions
Hi! I know this may be a dumb question, but where is a case study typically built? Is it like a website? Or is it a google slides presentation? That is the one piece of information I can't seem to figure out haha. Great video by the way! By far the most helpful one I have come across
Hello fellow designers! I have been really struggling with the topic for my first UX design case study, maybe you have some ideas of what I can do? I was thinking about something connected to social issues because I wanna make a helpful thing but maybe you gave some other ideas about what is gonna be better for me as a newbie:)
