    Yeah, but how much more expensive it is than the current standard RAM?

    what if the RAM is faulty? do you need to buy a whole new mobo or is it replaceable like it currently is?

      This is a great question, I would assume you would just replace the RAM itself. You wouldn't need a whole new motherboard. As far as I'm aware, (and I should have clarified this more) when I said it gets installed similarly to a CPU, I do not believe it needs any paste or anything. It just gets slotted in, so in theory, you should be able to just replace the RAM module itself.
      We didn't get a lot of time to talk to the direct product managers of this specific part (in fact, I didn't get to talk to them about this at all as it was sooooo busy at the booth and you couldnt book times).

      Jumping in here to clarify;
      It's like M.2 storage in that you just unscrew it to swap it out! Super ez

    only issue is that it doesn't really save much space considering the motherboard itself sticks up higher than regular ram anyway. Seems a little bit like re-inventing the wheel. Guarantee their going to add a premium cost on top of it as well. Only advantage you get is maybe having room to put the cpu water cooling tubes over where the ram normally sticks up but other than that no other advantages. The regular ram was never hard to install if not the easiest part of building a PC. Just press down two tabs and slide the ram in, as easy as that.

      I see your points. And I think with time if everything else reduces in size, the benefits are there. I have no trouble installing ram, but the rest of PC building scares me as depending on the build design, it can be tedious. I built mine with guidance from ThermalTake in person, and I personally don't feel confident in building another without guidance again. So as parts become a lot easier and simpler to install, one day I hope to be more confident.
      As for the performance benefits of this style, I see the heatsink being a great initiative, but time will tell us how it really goes!

    Good to see companies branching out and thinking "Hey, this established format - is there a way we could be doing it better?"
    Awesome stuff!

    So I work for a NAID and R2V3 certified place, which is Data destruction(NAID) and responsible recycling(R2V3) and I think to myself whenever you review these, I think first, "Liesshy is around some really cool tech!!" Second, "welp I really hope they are easy to dismantle as you are showing it to be" as my job refurbishes as well responsibly recycles laptops and desktops. And some of these cases and computers....pain in the arse!! Not a fun time!! Not fun at all!! 😂 Anyway great tech video as always!!! Looking forward to the next! 🖖😊🎮🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈 Marcus
