Hi dave, great videos.. please could you let me know what camera's, camera transmitter, reciever etc you used for your boat as i've just finished a boat and would like to add an underwater camera and like how you've done yours...And how was it wired and how do you switch between cams please. kevin.
Hi Kevin, thanks!! The cameras have now changed to two 700 tvl CCD cameras. The transmitter is a 5.8ghz 1 watt transmitter. The receiver is a 5.8ghz receiver. Have a look on eBay for FPV (first person view) it will bring up loads of gear for you to look at. Also, have a look on here for videos as to how to wire up an fpv system, I can't really explain how to wire it up in the comments unfortunately.
awsome stuff tbh. planing on my own build from old boat someone gave me thats not great so new full boat i reckon.lights camara action :D ..you got a good boat there and like the switch camara so will look into that ,!! tnx
Hi Dave how much will it cost me for everything the 2 cameras transmitter everything like yours mate I have just brought a bait boat and want all that on mine mate thanks lee
You're probably looking at about £150 to £200 mate for two cameras and the transmitter and receiver. Have a look on eBay for FPV (First Person View) gear. There's loads of it on there. I have two 650TVL cameras, a 1000mw 5.8Ghz transmitter and receiver. You're also going to need something to view it all on the bankside. I use a 14" LED TV, which runs off 12v DC.
Hi Ian, my Boat currently has some Starlight 3D-DNR Sony CCD 650TVL Super Mini Camera's as these work well in low light conditions but there are a lot better cameras out there nowadays, with better resolution and better light handling. Try searching for a 800tvl CCD board camera, there must be loads of them out there. Some of them will have better voltage regulators on them too, they usually work between 5v and 32v so no faffing about with voltages.
Hi, Dave. Great boat. The 3 way camera switcher, how does that link to your handset? Or does it have a seperate control from the FPV receiver on the bank?
Hi quality boat mate cracking skills. I'm currently looking at mounting a camera to the side of my boat with the fpv transmitter. Will only be a few inches in the water. Do you know what cameras I need that are waterproof. Cheers
Steve Davies Cheers Steve! I brought a camera that wasn't waterproof but installed inside the boat through a waterproof flange that was sealed with silicone. Unfortunately, I'm not aware of any waterproof cameras but i'm sure there are some out there. Maybe have a google for some. As an idea for which camera, go for a CCD 700tvl, that's all I can really help you with.
Im impress with the design did you your own hull? which material
great boat watched all ur vids and have now decided to try and install FPV front facing camera on my viper , thanks for sharing
