My whirlpool had this code F7E1 and I replaced the shift actuator but it still wasn't spinning. I then replaced the capacitor and now it works fine. Thanks for the video!
So thanks to this video, i was able to get the fault code on my whirlpool WTW5000DW1 washer. It was the F5E3 code- lid lock. The washer was cutting in and out of each cycle...You could hear the lid lock switch clicking while sensing, washing, etc and the lid lock light wouldn't stay on. My fix was taking some electrical contact cleaner and generously spraying the lid lock switch. The electrical contacts must have had some dirt/muck build up. Working perfect again now. Washer is 5 yrs old. First issue i've had with it and am very happy with the machine. Thanks a ton FreeInDeed!!!
Thank god I found you I'm sitting here now did everything you said so far so good I'll never buy another washer like this again but it makes a strang noise washing this sucks
I wish I would have seen this video before replacing my washer plate and hub only to find out it was the Shift Actuator. Had no idea these threw out error codes and how easy it is to read them yourself. Great video
@@Dooguy It wasn't agitating. I figured it was the hub or plate that was stripped but it wasn't. When i tipped the machine over and manually moved the actuator it was easy to tell that was the issue.
I had an F8E1 and was able to read the problem on your other video where you show the manual page by page. So in my situation, the rinse water fill was taking too long and thus the cycle would never complete, omitting the spin and always returning to wash. I disconnected all pipes from the machine and saw there was sand clogging the filter on my incoming cold water. I vacuumed the filter as well as the inside of all the pipes (drain too) to get any dirt and debris out. Then, I reopened the valves and ran water long enough into a bucket to make sure there was no air inside the pipes. I reconnected all three pipes and it seems to have worked. The manual says that the error code will erase after 10 washes if the problem doesn't reoccur. Thanks so much, your vids helped me the most.
@Maddog worker The filter is behind on your machine, where you fix your water pipes. It filters the incoming water (cold or hot). It is small, the size of a dime.
I agree my washer will not go to rinse on its own but will rinse when switch it to rinse and when i use the code that was given here, and i don't get any bad codes what a pain
@@freeindeed9508 Hi dear, Could you please do me a favor to test dryer/washer replacement parts? I want to sent you the new parts and pay you a review fee. Would you mind to let me know your email?
I lost my tech manual. I have codes that came up as F - SPIN AND E - DONE. Then it was F - rinse/spin/done and E - rinse/spin/done then, F- rinse/done E - done and F - wash E done.

99% of the time its user error as always. Its not like an old style machine, its critical you have proper water pressure and temperature, select the proper cycle, level it well. We're never gonna have the durable beasts of yesterday that took a beating and came back for more.

Mine sounds like a Semi shifting gears without the use of the clutch. Been working fine for several years and has made those noises since the first day. I feel it will come apart any day.
So my error codes are all the green lights are blinking. I cannot find any list on what this could be. Basically what is happening with the washer it's identical to this one I press start the lock light flashes and doesn't allow it to engage in wash if I press the start button three times real fast it says sensing but nothing happens after that it fills for a split second and says sensing still and doesn't do anything else. I have no idea what this could be
I am not seeing any codes in my manual where all the green lights are flashing. The good news is you got all the green lights to flash while starting the process. It could be possible you skipped some of the last steps to retrieve your codes. Or your machine may be a different model, in which case I'm not sure if the codes are the same. I honestly am not sure. If the lights work during a wash cycle, it may be the steps or timing of how you turn the dial, while you are trying to checking codes. My washer has sensing, washer and done error code. Do I just do what you did on the video? Thanks so much in advance!
You're welcome! Now looking at my video it is hard for me to see also, might have to redo that one. So it appears that you have (Sensing + Washer) on the first flash of lights, then (Done) on the second flash. If that is correct it appears to be an (F8E1 - No Fill, Long Fill) error code. Hope this helps, God Bless
Sometimes it takes practice to get the right timing on turning the dial. After you get the right timing, hopefully the lights will start to flash, for the Diagnostic Test Mode. Best of luck to you.
