Thanks man. Yeah, sometimes people really over do the film look and add tones of grain and halation. Really doesn't look good. But to be honest I was guilty of this at some point😅
Beautiful shots, love to see Morton Castle, and shoutout to Dumfries and Galloway in general. I went from X-pro2 to X-H2 a few months back and love it.
Ha ha😅 Yes I'm grateful to have family in Dumfries and Galloway. Amazing part of the world. Good to hear that you're enjoying the XH2. I nearly bought that myself but seemed to be more aimed at photographers. However I'm aware of its fantastic video capabilities.
why does it matter? it literally has a film emulation powergrade slapped on it so any resolution the entire 6k sensor picks up is meaningless. Nothing wrong with film emulation, but this video does not show you why you need open gate is all im saying lol
in five years time where do you see yourself is a question many of us get asked, well today I have the answer, i wanna shot cool videos like this, travel to places, and share that with as many people as i can, just like you, so thank you for inspiring and letting the answer find its way to me.
@@buzz1n I've used Google Maps to find the house in Lanark where my great-grandfather grew up. I want to go visit it. I'll also have to go to Antrim in Ireland to see where his father lived before moving back to Scotland.
@@dougmacmillan1712 Oh wow! That could be a base for a wonderful short documentary. I wish you all the luck in finding where your great-grandfather's father lived:)

Hello bro, I'm a professional friend of Janaína Alencar, I came to take a closer look at your channel and work and I confess that I'm fascinated. Congratulations 👏🏻
@@buzz1nthanks mate! did you consistently shoot at high apertures to get the entire frame in focus? that’s something I am trying to understand thoroughly
Thanks man😊 I graded it entirely myself within Davinci Resolve. I did however use a F-Log2 to Rec709 conversion lut along with adding in some grain and slight halation. Oh and I also used a 1/4 mist filter
Thanks😊 I used a K&F VND with a 1/4th pro black mist filter. Sorry, I can't remember the name of the make of the mist filter. However, I do use ones made by Tiffin and K&F, and they are very good:)
Thanks:) I graded it myself after converting the F-Log2 footage to rec709 with Serr's conversion lut. I'll link it below:) serrvillasano.com/store/p/fujifilmflog2conversionluts

Amazing! I love this soundtrack from Minari and you used it so well with your footages and color grade!
Thank you😊 I really found that the Minari soundtrack just clicked with the footage and the style that I wanted.

I was totally captured by this movie! Excellent music choice and a present, but still not over-done film look. Really love it man!

@@CryWolfFilms: for that juicy 3:2 and 4:3 aspect ratios, dummy! I am paying for full frame, I am demanding full frame! Resolution is secondary.

Footage looks amazing. The vignetting from the ND filters sucks but you've managed to capture the story really well.
ur amazing
@@WINCHESTER199X Thanks🙌
Was this all in-camera? With film simulations? Or is it heavy post-color grading? Looks awesome!
@@d.8245 All was colour graded in Davinci Resolve:)
wow! Great! What lenses did you use?
Samyang 16mm f2
These are beautiful ! What codec & format did you shoot on ? Prores ? H.265 ?
Thanks! It was ProRes LT
c'est beau !
Thank you❤️ Big fan of your content:) I used to use the X-T30 before I bought the XH2S.

AMAZING work mate, beautifully graded. What focal length was your lens if you don't mind me asking?
Thanks:) I used a 16mm f2 by Samyang
@@buzz1nthanks mate! did you consistently shoot at high apertures to get the entire frame in focus? that’s something I am trying to understand thoroughly
@@AMALHI15 No, I actually shot it all at a low aperture of f2. I then just focused on infinite or just below to get most of the frame in focus:)
Hi! May I know if you shot this at ProRes or at H265? This is so dream like vibes!
Thanks:) I filmed it all in ProRes LT
@@buzz1n Thanks for your prompt response!
How did you stabilize your footage, is this mostly tripod shots or a gimbal or hand held?
This was all Tripod shots apart from only a few
This is unbelievable. How do you grade? Plugins, LUTs, or purely graded entirely yourself? The colors are stunning.
Thanks man😊 I graded it entirely myself within Davinci Resolve. I did however use a F-Log2 to Rec709 conversion lut along with adding in some grain and slight halation. Oh and I also used a 1/4 mist filter
The conversion lut is by Serr if your wondering. It adds a slight filmic look to the image
which film stock did you choose to do this? very pretty...
No film stock/look. Just built my own grade
nice footage man! wich grain did u use? works perfect in almost every shot! nice test! You can shot a movie with these textures! love the vinyet
Thanks man🫡 I believe I used the standard 16mm grain overlay in Davinci Resolve:) I may have slightly reduced the strength of it though👍
the grading is so good. tutorial?
Thanks:) Maybe sometime👀
Beautiful video and beautiful music to it. What VND & mist did you use for this?

We're these shot in flog2? Also, what nd filters are you using? Beautiful shots!
Yes Flog2 with a standard K&F VND
@@buzz1n thanks for the response!
what a lovely video, the music and the shots creates an indescribable feeling! What film simulation was this filmed on? Keep up the good work!! :)
Thanks;) I didn't use a film simulation for this video but rather the Log profile. So in this case F-Log2
I then colour corrected the footage and added some Grain and Halation to add to the film look that I wanted:)
@@buzz1n Ah okay! Thanks a ton :D

what were the lenses that you used for these shot ? specifically the one of the cows ?
Samyang 16mm f2
Did you shoot in prores?
ProRes LT 👍
Random but what tripod do you use?
What Aspect ratio Is this brother ?. i love this video. Gives me the different perspective of filmmaking.
I'm glad to hear that:) I rendered this video in a 4:3 aspect ratio.
does the camera automatically do halation? or do you add that when doing post production?
No, it's all added in when grading the footage! It's best to keep it on the low because it can look cheap when overdone
Amazing! 🌱💌
Where did you graded the footages?
Thanks:) I graded it myself after converting the F-Log2 footage to rec709 with Serr's conversion lut. I'll link it below:)
