*Great little trolling motor **enjoyable.fishing** recommend had it hooked up to my 15 foot old town canoe and it pushed it pretty good with me and my son (220 pounds each).*
Really cool video! Thanks. A few years ago I modified the bow plate on my 2002 Crestliner to increase height and strength and location of my trolling motor. It turned out amazing, after some hard work. So I know how hard it is to modify things. That’s why I’m always overwhelmed by your skills. You are a mechanical artist at work! 👍👍👍👍👍
I just got a used crastliner, the boat seems nice, although would like to take the front seat out and space the other 3 a bit farther, theres only about 2 feet between the seats. Only 14 ft boat, any advice on a bow plate addition?
@@josephsmith590 I measured the front wooden bow plate. Measured the trolling motor base and purchased aluminum plating which attached to the boat and trolling motor. I held this all in place with bolts, lock washers and locking nuts. Nothing has come loose in 2 years. The aluminum should be thick enough to allow proper placement of the trolling motor and an acceptable overhang. Mine was about 2” high, the width of the trolling motor and the length of the trolling motor base plus acceptable overhang. I bought it from a specialty vendor in my home town. Caution: measure carefully and have the vendor cut it. I didn’t and had a lot of manual sawing. I’m retired so it turned out OK in time. Hope this helps.
I'm building out my boat and at the end now. Need to add a bow plate/ Whats the ideal thickness for an aluminum plate for the bow plate? I'm attaching a 70lb thrust Minn Kota trolling motor
Love your videos. Any suggestions to make the rails look nicer? Mine has some dents in it. And i want it to look clean again. Are there any lightweight railing caps 14 feet long or that i can piece together from back to front of my boat? Its my first project. Thanks in advance and keep up the good work!
Thinking about getting an ultrex for my t14s build. Did you see any drawbacks like it being to heavy or the Spot lock overcompensating with such a light boat? Thank you for everything !
Great video I have a couple of questions, one is where do you get all of your aluminum, two since stainless steel and aluminum are dissembler metals is it okay to still use them and three have you made any videos on putting seat bases in the floors of your boats. Thank you for your time
I like the idea of using the square tubing for gunnel. Did you ever consider adding to the gunnel woodworking T-tracks as a way to have a Versatracks system?
I’m trying to do the same with my boat and want to install the trolling motor mount on top but would like to have a flat shelf below like you did where I can stow my batteries. I can’t seem to find the video that explains how he leveled off the shelf, the little one below the trolling motor piece, and secured it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Dude! I love you mad skills! I just got a 15'8"bluefin superhawk (technically 16') so that probably doesn't count as a tiny boat, but I'll have to find your website, new app update on my phone I can't seem to find it!
Dude, you just did everything. You didn’t explain enough. Like the gunnels and pop rivets. What tool how did you do it, what size? What prep? And chew with your mouth shut.
Absolutely genius for the gunnel addition. Genius.

Doing this exact set up. Did you complete it ? How is it ? Working well ? Draw backs ?

Two different metals together will cause corrosion.
They want nearly $300 for this! Crazy. Hope I can build my own for a 1/4 that price.
