Apparently there's little or no distinction between pigeon and dove in Japanese...hence Miku's 'peace and love' ethos. Her sightseeing videos on YT are great fun.
Pay attention to MISA's amp on stage...there's usually a bottle of whiskey (most often a pint of Jim Beam), and she'll finish it before the end of the concert. Part-2 is my favorite, especially how Mincho feels about Saiki 🥰🥰🥰👍👍🤘🤘🤘 BTW, great Pigeon call. Apparently, the Japanese don't differentiate between Pigeons and Doves (doves being in the Pigeon family) so Miku is probably referring to doves 🕊!!! Ramen 🍜 is served in a large bowl with a choice of toppings, a slice of pork, tempura, and or an egg, etc. I personally can only eat 2 bowls and I'm pretty "husky"🤣!!! Kaiten sushi 🍣 is "conveyor belt sushi". It literally comes around on a conveyor and you grab what you want to eat. Eating 30 pieces is a feat!!!
Soba comes in very small bowers hence Akane can eat well over 100 of the little soba noodle "bowl".
They said in the commentary that she was sober.

And this right here is a very big part of what attracts me to them besides their music. I think they are just very likeable and funny as persons. If you see and hear them here like this, you probably wouldn't even begin to suspect what they are capable of on stage. Just very likeable, funny and what you hear over and over again, no ego which stands out negatively with one of them.

Kaiten-sushi is a type of sushi restaurant which you can eat sushi at a low price. Usually two pieces of sushi are on each prates ( one plate is approximately $ 1.00 ). So, to eat 30 plates of sushi means 60 pieces of sushi. And "Uni" which MC guy talked about is "Sea urchin"
"Like I can eat 5 bowls of Ramen, and 30 plates in a Kaiten Sushi"
She actually said "替え玉5玉” refill noodle 5 times, so she can eat 6 portions of noodle total. In Japan, most of Ramen restaurant, you can order noodles only as long as you still have soup in your bowl. Kaiten sushi "回転寿司” is a belt conveyor or a rotating sushi. Usually, 2 pieces of sushi comes on one plate in Japan, so she can eat 60 pcs of sushi.
I think us Muricans are so used to giant portions, that 5 bowls sounds like a lot. I wonder what the portions of what Akane's talking about really is?
@@Bekka_Noyb One portion of ramen noodle before boiling is about 150g, and after boiling it becomes about 250g (about8.8oz). One serving of long pasta would be about 100g, after boiling it weighs about 250g. The amount of soup in a bowl of ramen is 400ml to 500ml (about17oz).
250gx6+400=1900g So she claims that her stomach can digest 1.9kg (4.19lbs) of ramen.
For your information, one cup of Wanko Soba noodle is about 15g.

Love when people watch their interviews. These videos have quite a few mistranslations and they're all really playing up their characters at this point in their careers so take them with a grain of salt. Looking forward to part 2!

This is fun. Charm point is a Japanese thing, not sure it translates well (maybe like what's your best attribute), but supposedly everyone has one (except Saiki). The bowls they were talking about are, from what I've read, pretty small, almost like each one is a bit, but it's still a lot. Akane also likes to eat bananas during breaks when playing live (2+ hour shows), pump up the potassium and sugar, that's how she got the nickname of gorilla. PO

Charm point is a Maid Cafe and related thing (that's why not every female Japanese band has them), it's about the entertaining flaw or beauty element that's most endearing/appealing to the audience. Website "TV Tropes" goes into further detail - if they were working in a cafe or something, Akane is the hungry girl, MISA's the slosh, Kanami is either the big-eyed girl or the dork/ditz, Saiki is the Ice Queen and Miku's the spaz. If the flaw was something like "kills small animals" then nope...
TRIVIA: Miku Kobato is her stage name; her real name is Mika Noguchi.

Not only are these amazing ladies great musicians and performers, they exude charm and personality! That is why we "Maidiac's" love them so much! MISA's whiskey of choice is usually Jim Beam, and can be seen in most of the live performances on top of her amp. Although she likes to drink, it is said Miku can actually drink her and all the other Maid's under the table, lol!
In Japan, pigeons don't coo, they karupo. But at the restaurants where they record your eating record the portions are very small.
This one has a couple of mistranslations. For example, this one has Miku saying, in part 2, that MISA is dressed like a Croatian maid. She actually says assassin maid (the words sound similar in Japanese).
When (not if!) you see Band-Maid live this year, you might want to pay the extra for the VIP Meet and Greet session before the concert. If you do, please make that very good pigeon call you did to Miku! I absolutely guarantee you'll make her smile! On another note, this might interest you. TRIVIA: Co-host Sayaka Nishiwaki is the sister of Ayaka (A-chan) Nishiwaki of the A-list J-Techno group, Perfume.
So, along with what's called "The Gap" - meaning the surprising contrast between what you'd expect to hear from girls in maid outfits vs. the accomplished hard rock they actually play - Band-Maid's concept also smartly applies some PR aspects of the pop idol genre to a rock band, making them more relatable. Fortunately they and their management avoid the negative aspects of the mainstream idol industry which often treats the performers as disposable and is very controlling. Basically you will "get to know them" as individuals more than most rock bands, along with a lot of lore and inside jokes, which enhances a feeling of personal connection to the music (not that their music needs any help, it's just icing on the cake). The personality quirks are real, although they do play them up (especially in earlier days like this interview). For example - since you're already a MISA fan - fans learn how Saiki and MISA once went out and got so drunk that they had to call Miku (of all people 😄) to come get them back home; and that MISA likes to stick things up her nose (often Akane's drumsticks, but also a Pocky candy that Kanami proceeded to feed to Miku onstage before telling her where it had been); that the others like to say MISA has an "ass-chin"; that she in particular likes their tradition of telling dirty jokes (which they then have to explain to Kanami) in the green room before a show; that the others smack her butt for good luck before going onstage; and that she's actually regarded as the goofiest of the five (wait til you see her "interpretive dance" to Akane's impersonation of Saiki singing).
PS. Miku has a solo group called Curropo! Spelling? It's pop punk and very 😎! Peace and Love is the first song they put out. Very good!

First time I saw MISA talk was a promo they did for a San Francisco show. They were going around asking what each member thought of when they thought of SF. MISA just dryly answered "alcatraz". The other members all turned to her with surprised looks, and she broke down laughing. Ever since then I've wondered what is going on in that mind of hers, and when will she strike next.
That's 30 plates of sushi, each with 2 pieces. So 60 total nigiri sushi.

Akane is the happiest drummer in the world in "Band-maid - Freedom [official live]"... you MUST react that video.
And by the other hand, we have the mysterious Misa... they were classmates and friends before the band... it's like a perfect mixture.
This band has a outstanding identity. It is so complete that you can't replace any member.
There is a new version of this with Part 1 & 2 merged with a better translation. This is right at the time they got noticed in Japan, the big breakout was their MV Thrill that 2 million views in 2 weeks. At this time Akane was the leader as she was the most organized of the 5. Today they have managers that travel with them keeping everything organized. As to the music the drivers are Kanami who writes the music and Miku who writes the lyrics. Akane and MISA create their lines in the songs from the basic music sent by Kanami. Siaki now is working with Miku on lyrics and she also has the "We're Done" call the studio. Miku is the band founder and she deals with their agency and the record companies. Don't let her cuteness fool you. She is a very smart lady that is highly successful. After all she persuaded 4 strangers to wear maid costumes on stage and play rock music!
Don't forget the second part. That's so much better!

@@UnderARock I know... crazy! ..I looked it up. I think it's at a particular cafe/restaurant chain in the northern region of Japans main island. It's renound for it's noodle challenge.....I saw it once on a Japanese tv show..The host was challenged buy 2 young ladies. he got his arse handed to him...hehehe...As I recall... the girls both got toover 200 bowl's....The bowels are not very big...And I'd guess that it's about 2 mouth fulls in each bowel...Your not allowed to stop....so no having a breather. You have to eat and eat until you can't take anymore and you put a top over the last bowel you can handle quick otherwise you get more bowels put infront of you. The waitress'a stand by the table and continuallly place bowels infront of you and make sure you do not take a breather...In my day If I'd ever visited japan, I think my late partner would of coax me into having a go. I used to have a big appertite....But I think now I would pass...(maybe).

The bowls of noodles, refers to the Wanko Soba Noodle Challenge, which costs about $31USD to do. It's a lot of fun, but Akane is a master...even though tiny Haruna Ono of SCANDAL also downed over 100 bowls.

an old interview, but still a timeless one. a bit unfortunate that you've missed a different set of interviews since it was already taken down by youtube. but here''s a few more tidbits to update you on your pigeon hole journey:
they have already abandoned the concept of a band leader. though mincho-zilla mainly takes care of the dots and twin tails with the letters, all of them contribute significantly in the composition of their songs. ['corallium' is their first song written by the ice queen] they're the perfect example of 'the whole is greater than the sum of its parts'.
'charm points' are an idol thing [could be from the 'kawaii' look]. this was just a usual aspect of their individual identities during their early years and have shaken it off. if you will care to seek other videos that show their off-stage [and even on-stage] personas, your jaw will hurt from laughter.
the barefoot assassin may be the one that openly chugs, but it's twin tails that has the biggest tank. you'll learn from other maidiacs and interviews that it's the muscle pigeon who makes sure they all get home okay after a night of drinking.
a-chan 'the fills' has the widest network of musician peers. her dynamics behind the kit are equaled by her humorous/no-dull-moment side.
There is a story, not sure if it's true or wistful thinking, when Akane recommended Misa as bassist she went and played for the ladies, Miku, Kanami and Akane, Miku and Kanami were worried she smelt of alcohol but Akane convinced them, so they ring Misa up to say she is in, Misa reply , I will think about it, God I so hope that's true lol

I had already fallen in love with their music but after seeing interviews I fell in love with them! They make me feel they would make a great anime though! Very funny and cute slice of life anime. It's this interview I found out Miku says Po at the end of her sentences. There's a great interview just with MISA if you can find it. She talks a bit about her influences and how she "palms" the pick to go back and forth from pick to fingers/slap.
Don't believe all of it. Miku has the overall final answer to anything involving the band. They follow her because they know she will always do what's best for the band. After all she gave up being 1st lead vocalist in her own band to being second to Saike and it was her idea. She designs and decides what fits their image on and off stage. If they are representing the band anywhere it will be in costume. These are Miku's rules. She remains a bit aloof from the others because she has side projects and is traveling around being bans spokesperson
It's Japanese, and Kruppo has no particular meaning. Miku is just imitating the sound of a pigeon.
