    Kamikochi looks beautiful! Can’t wait to visit one day. I still have my plastic food replica that I made in Gujo Hachiman a few years back.

    What happened to the audio when Raina is speaking on camera?

      Do you only have one earbud in? I couldn't hear it with only my right ear bud in, but could hear her with both in.

      Thank you for your comment! It seems some people are experiencing audio issues during the talking point scenes. To make sure this does not happen again, we will be using new microphones for future videos!

    As an avid outdoorsman, I would love to visit at some point. The mountains and the countryside look absolutely beautiful there. Thanks for sharing.

    I've been to Kamikochi in the middle of summer in 2018. I remember it being 41 degrees Celsius down in the valley, and it being a pleasant 22 degrees Celsius in Kamikochi, was heavenly to escape the heat for a day!!

    Thanks a lot on always giving the best ideas to go off the beaten track in Japan. I have been already 5x in Japan in last 4 years, but always not enough time to see all when new sites pop up always. 😅 So far collected nearly 300 visit wishes and many are hard to reach areas and take to rent a car, but that is the hard option cause never drove on left side and even if Japan has not so much traffic by cars, it has way different rules and i am the one who always rents cars outside of major cities, but dont know how is renting cars in remote Japan places cause of signing contracts and use of English. 😖
    So far did all of this kind of travel when renting bikes at remote train stations. But car gives more of freedom and time saving.

    Gujo-Hachiman and Kamikochi are together with Takayama, Shirakawa-go and Shin-Hotaka on my itinerary through central Japan for my trip planned for 2020. Sadly because of the pandemic I had to postpone the trip. Hopefully in 2022 we can visit Japan again.

    Hi I’m going to Japan in May for 2weeks and would love to spend the last 3 days somewhere naturey/relaxing/ serene. I’m struggling to pick a location after Osaka- to spend 3 nights, before I head back to Tokyo then back to US.
    From your experience would you recommend Kamikochi or Togakushi more?? ( I also watched your Togakushi video and loved the spirituality of the forests/shrines)
    Or im open to any suggestions of a different location. I will be taking public transportation the whole time. Would love to include an onsen stay in the 3days

    My Kamikochi trail experience start from Matsumoto station (After Tateyama Alpine). From Matsumoto Station taking the same bus (Highland Express) to Kamikochi Bus Terminal which is about 1 hour 45 minute journey.

    Kamikochi has been on my list for a long time. This confirms it once again I just have to visit this place. It is so beautiful. When is the best time to visit this beautiful place?

    • @japanguide
      @japanguide  2 роки тому

      I confirm, it really was exceptionally beautiful! We recommend visiting during the autumn foliage season (which usually peaks in mid-October). The other best time to visit would be from mid-May to July (when you can observe a wide variety of alpine flora).
      If you need more information on Kamikochi, feel free to check our dedicated page here: www.japan-guide.com/e/e6040.html

    Watching this central Japan series with amazing shots and everything as usual (and Raina being funny), I wonder if you've ever planned to shoot videos about hiking for this channel? And I don't mean the "hiking around in Koya-san"-hiking, but more the "hiking this trail"-hiking... If that makes sense 😆 I mean this video already has half of it's content regarding to hiking, which I absolutely love!!
