If there was only a way to jump through the screen and give you and your father a big hug for uploading this. I have an expanding ball python collection and was looking to build one after this find I struck gold. hats off to you and your dad and thank you
Thank you! :D I think we mainly used No. 6 2.25" long trim head screws (for the sides). We used something shorter to put on the back cover. Be sure to make pilot holes for the screws when putting them into the melamine (or else it will crack/split the melamine).
Thank you! Each shelf measures about 24"x35", and then the divider peices measure 17" deep, but we cut the heights to fit specifically for the height of the tubs going in that space. Hope this helps... Good luck with yours if you choose to build one! :)
Hello @Cameron Hodges Expecting mother from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada here. Been looking for a video on DIY snake racking system. I’m not afraid to make things/ build things myself but for a first time with zero experience i’m gonna look and hire someone to build this snake racking system. Would you be willing to provide me with the exact blueprints and measurements and all the materials you used to build this as I live in Canada may not be as easy to find certain things. Also the size of bins that would fit so I can see what type of stores would carry those size bins. Thank you so much in advance. Loved your video.❤😊
@gonyosoma7 can you please give me the measurements of everything on the little design you had. please it would be a great help. your rack is one of the best ive seen in my opinion and would like to build one as close to your as i possible can please let me know
Great rack and video mate... Just wondering, did you dowel the sides?. From the ply into the shelfs??.. As didn't see you do it in the vid ?. If so how did you do that?. Thanks
@tokay999 Thanks! I am very happy with how it turned out, and I can't wait to fill it up with snakes! lol Yeah, I am lucky that my dad loves to build stuff so he already had all of those tools! :)
Haha! Well, I give most of the credit to my dad which helped out with the entire project. He has a good amount of experience with woodworking stuff. I am just decent on my own. lol
@fivecentbackMW3 Haha! Thanks! It really isn't too hard to make, but yes, it does require some tools and knowledge on how to build stuff (that is why I am so thankful to have a dad that is into building stuff like this with me).
@89mc01 Thanks! I live in Oklahoma, but I am not going to make them to sell out to people. It just takes a really long time (at least at the rate my dad and I work on it). lol
@shariqminhas1 The tubs that I used have a raised "lip" that runs around the entire underside of the tub, but the raised part is well rounded, so nothing catches onto the edges of the rack shelves (if you are worried about there being raised feet that would catch onto the edges of a rack these tubs would work well for you, as the don't have that problem).
Thanks for that that's a big help bt I myt ave to change the dimention cz I will b puttin ball pythons in the I build n the tubs sizes in england r different
I am sorry, but I don't know the measurements for standard 32 liter tubs, but I know the measurements of the rack would have to be modified in order to fit them. For instance you would not be able to fit the central dividers in where I put them for tubs of that size, and you would only be able to have one tub on each level (unless you made them run deep into the rack and made the rack deeper, or if you made it more wide for two to sit next to each other running side to side). Hope this helps...
@KYLEG1986 Thanks! No, I didn't use any dowels to attatch the sides to the shelves, I just used screws there. I only used dowels for the spacers that run between the tubs (down the center of the rack). :)
Sorry for the delay in my response... I must have missed your message somehow. That was my dad's table saw. I don't know exact price ranges really, but yes, it will certainly be over a few hundred dollars. Let me know if you have any other questions! Again, I appologize for taking so long to get back to you. Thanks! :)
Here is a stupid question. What size screws did you use length wise? It seems that 1 1/2 may be too small and that's what I bought. If these seemed to be sturdy enough for you, let me know. If you used something longer, let me know. Private message me, please. Also, let me know what # size. i.e. #6 2", #8 2", etc.
It is in my list of uploads, but it is no longer listed directly after the pt1 video due to copyright issues (with songs in the vid) I was having probelms with the upload.

@ems7572 I posted all the prices in the description of the part two video. We probably spent like 5 entire days working on it.
All of the costs of the purchases are listed at the end of the part two video. The total cost in the end was around $480. :)
