This trailer was alright- saw it before Furiosa. I'm still concerned that this movie is not necessary, and Tim Burton is desperate, but I'll wait and see. Not surprising to see AJ unfamiliar with all the references in this trailer. He probably saw the movie once in the 90s and then just claims he's a fan like he does with most stuff. For example: Tim Burton was involved with the Beetlejuice cartoon. So, you think hes being influenced by himself? Really impressive theory. Wow. I'm keeping faith. Its still Tim Burton. The comedy and cheese effects are old school on purpose. And yeah its a risk to make a sequel 30 years later. Either way they can't win. People cried for a sequel, yet don't want a sequel.

In the first one Beetle Juices makeup looked more natural and more like a dead guy. The sequel just looks like a ton of makeup piled on instead of having a real dead, decaying look. Too much makeup imo He even had less hair in the original. And whats with that nose ?
Agree. This literally just looks like MK with makeup slapped on, he doesn't disappear into the character, there's no suspension of disbelief. It looks like a parody.
Every single thing about this "sequel" looks embarrassing, cringy, sad, low-effort, lazy, stupid hacky and pandering. Keaton is simply too old and I could not be less interested in Tim Burton's latest girlfriend. I would not watch this for $1,000 per minute.
I don't know if the effects are actually worse than the originals or not. I think they look pretty close and the deciding factor there is nostalgia. I watched the original again a few months ago so it's a bit more fresh in my brain, but the effects really don't strike me as being super different or anything.
A new Empire Magazine cover article for Beetlejuice Beetlejuice confirms the intro to the trailer that Joe saw as pandering to the audience is actually part of the movie. Lydia has a Elvira style paranormal show called Ghost House in the movie, the intro we saw was part of the show with the movie title superimposed on the TV. Fun fact the shows name Ghost House is a play on WB's original name they suggested for Beetlejuice back in 1988 which was House Ghost. They not only didn’t like the name Beetlejuice but also didnt have much faith in the film, they ultimately relented because they fIgured the movie would bomb anyway. The rest as they say is history now. The article also talks about the heavy use of practical effects on display with a portion dedicated to how some of it was done with the films set designer. The entire article will be available when the magazine hits stands in early June.

Love from a JeremyJahns and Vaush fan!
Everytime I see beetle juice I'm always thinking about "I think it's a carot"
This trailer was alright- saw it before Furiosa. I'm still concerned that this movie is not necessary, and Tim Burton is desperate, but I'll wait and see.
Not surprising to see AJ unfamiliar with all the references in this trailer. He probably saw the movie once in the 90s and then just claims he's a fan like he does with most stuff.
For example: Tim Burton was involved with the Beetlejuice cartoon. So, you think hes being influenced by himself? Really impressive theory. Wow.
The most this movie could do is prove Tim Burton only makes good movies when he makes stuff of his own that hasn't been done before. Or it'll prove once and for all he's waaaayyyy past his prime.
That doesn't look like Hawaii.
One thing I can always count on from The Angry Joe crew is a steady stream of uninformed hot takes that never fail to make me laugh.
Well the CGI looks like that cause it was supposed to be like the stop motion from the original
I'm keeping faith. Its still Tim Burton. The comedy and cheese effects are old school on purpose. And yeah its a risk to make a sequel 30 years later. Either way they can't win. People cried for a sequel, yet don't want a sequel.
Beetlejuice didn't make the brothel appear. The smoking women did. All ghosts in that universe have powers
Imagine someone writing an original movie.
When u can see these 3 are old grumpy men that doesn't know tim burton style 😂 heck they complain about a kids film as well
Fellas. Beetlejuice didn’t make the brothel appear..it was the case worker. Did y’all even see or pay attention to the movie?
This movie won’t sell shit😅
💯
The bad cgi is a touch of the older movie. So to see a reaction to making it better is a sin. Sometimes you got to leave the critic out of your reaction and realize the beauty
It took me watching it few years ago, but Juno created the brothel in the model. I always thought BJ did it too but later they explain Juno did it to distract him.
How beetle juice escapes is so stupid like how on earth did you never tell your daughter about this
The whole movie looks awful. Winona Ryder is so cringe in it
In the first one Beetle Juices makeup looked more natural and more like a dead guy.
Did these guys not see the first? What an awful reaction 💀
I prefer the these practical effects. Cgi is too soul less.
What practical effects
Of course Monica Bellucci’s in this. She’s dating Tim Burton.
Awesome video brother.
By the way check out Logan the wolf fan film it's insane
I don't know if the effects are actually worse than the originals or not. I think they look pretty close and the deciding factor there is nostalgia. I watched the original again a few months ago so it's a bit more fresh in my brain, but the effects really don't strike me as being super different or anything.
Bro feel off he stopped doing angry reviews
The entire article will be available when the magazine hits stands in early June.
the effects were intentionally made that way for sure with the weird animation
Minus the CGI it looks decent, I guess. Looks better than I expected for a Sequel this long removed.
This will be one of the biggest movie of the year, which isnt saying much but just nostalgia will carry it over the finish line.
I'm all for the cartoon take and journey in the underworld.
Alex head shape and beard on his face reminds me of a British Bulldog especially when he doesn't like something. Makes me laugh everytime, hope you all enjoyed a peek into my mind
William DaFoe's character gives me the Two-Face vibe going, think that was supposed to be a Batman reference.
It's a great idea to make part 2 look like part 1, so when you watch them together they wont look years apart.
Loved the original. But the trailer just doesn't have the same feel. It being a sequel is better than just a remake. But will have to see more.
going by the trailer plot..the ties to get married..but has not gotten divorced yet
Can’t we hope it’s good
