    Imagine how proud Jerome's ancestors would be of him. They were not allowed to read, but he is clearly educated and made a good life for himself.

      do you mean the tree in the picture for this programme? Then no. The tree cut down near Hadrian's Wall in Northern England was a sycamore. You'll find pictures if you search for sycamore gap on the web. The tree in the picture above is an oak I think.
