He seems so down to earth and attaches little importance to fame or money. I think it's more about the art of his music and getting it right. He;s a perfectionist. I try to follow some of the music in the languages he is brave enough to record them in. I took French so the French ones are easiest but Italian and Spanish are not so easy. He is special and I think will be for a long long time to come.

ChicanaChihuaz thank you so much for the idea. I will try it however it may be a bit of a problem. You see caribbean families were not very well documented. Men had children with several women on the side and it wasnt unusual for women to have several men either so whats on the paper compared to the real situation may not be the same.

Doing my family research the last 3 years, I found out that Josh and I share this relative. This blew my mind. I found the full episode about a year and a half ago, its really been a special thing to not only find this amazing person but to actually have the privilege of having this much information has been really special. Finding this really set me off into a deep journey of putting together my family tree. It would be interesting to see if Josh and i still have any connections now in the tree. Im from Pennsylvania where this American journey starts with the Zimmerman's....just so crazy. I have spent my adult life performing and singing also so it just further reinforces that certain things just stay in the DNA and keep going.

I am so honoured that one of my favourite singers shares some similarities with me. His German ancestors came from the same county (Ludwigsburg) as I. I was born and raised near Bietigheim. So he is partly swabian, which is the region, where Daimler, Porsche and Audi were "invented", in short a real think tank . But it also means you work with discipline and are cautious with your money. Greetings from Waiblingen, Stuttgart

I find it odd that they focused solely on the man when it was the woman and her children who made their way in America, not an easy thing to do as an immigrant. I guess that's why they call it his-story.

Stop being a dick. he was trying to find out where his family and why they came over here and they focused on him because he was the one that was trying to come to America and died before that happened

There's a Google... Instead of stating that you don't know him, like if that was important, you could've googled him...

He should do a 23andMe genetic test! And see if he has any other European roots in his ancestry.

No, he wasn't! He had to leave because he was against some people in the clergy. He was talking about planets when The Church at that time was refusing to understand that it wasn't the Sun that round around the Earth, but the other way around!

My family all came from.Germany. They were Lutheran. And they all settled by the Ohio Pennsylvania border. After the first world War. And they all are crazy. Haha. Fortunately as I child we moved across country and I left home early. Lol.

Did your family have to change their surname ? I have read that in The US during ww1 there were many German families who changed their surnames, e.g Müeller to Miller, Schoeman to Shoeman etc.

@@siyabongamngomezulu9743 No. It was Biery in the dad side. Some Biery had the ie reversed. So Beiry. And they think the now Brierly was maybe part of that clan.
