    Love this last video with Tis and Damo planting. I am thinking it is such a shame that most children today are so far separated from the land, from planting, the things that give life.

    Damo, you are the accidental vlogger! You are carrying the torch beautifully! Exotic flavor. You are very compatible with Ryan in intelligence/creativity/industry/family values/simple lifestyle. Great wife and Mother. Enjoy/believe in yourselves and success will follow in both of your endeavors as a great team.

    What a lovely peaceful video from you guys giving us yet again a great insight of what a day in rural Thailand looks like. Lots of work to be done every day like the preparations for the ceremony and taking care of Hugo, the animals and the garden. Pretty smart to use the rabbit poo as a fertilizer, well done on recycling! You're doing a fantastic job Damo and great to see you back sometimes Ryan, hope you had a good Vipassana =)

    Ryan you have a good head on your shoulders. I never knew my father and watching you care so much about your children and wife is refreshing. So many men abandon their ladies and children unfortunately.
    As a cyber security technologist who has been in technology for more than 30 years I know you are making the right choices when it comes to being on the Internet etc. the sense of community that’s there is without it is fantastic. Hopefully they will not become like the world where everybody has a screen. Even watching people go to the beach looking at their phones, going to Europe looking at their phones, spending big money to go on vacations and just looking at their phones. I call them phone zombies.
    I’m not judging anybody but it’s a different way of life being in the present isn’t it? I have learned much from my wonderful wise wife who is one of the most true practicers of Buddhist teachings. At any rate I know this is long but I wanted to encourage you Ryan. Life is not easy.
    May you be free from hostility, danger, mental, physical, and spiritual suffering. May all beings, seen and unseen, in all realms and planes of existence bless you. May all beings feel inner peace and happiness.
    Satu Satu Satu

    How much to expect as gross income from 1 rai or from 5 rai with typical farming such as banana trees, coconuts or some fruit trees? I know it's a very vague question but I'm trying to find information on that

    • @richardtaylor410
      @richardtaylor410 Рік тому +1

      It really depends on what you do. 1-5 rai 'could' produce well if you grow high demand produce for the local market. But farming, in general, is not a large revenue generator. When much of what you grow is sold for 10-30 baht a kilo, it takes a lot to deliver. And you are competing with everyone else growing basically the same thing at the markets. High end quality can entice customers such as restaurants, which we do, but requires more work, expense, and time to develop contacts/buyers.
      Expanding into hard to find items, such as advacados in my area, is profitable over time but might be extremely hard to establish and grow depending on your soil and weather. In our case, after over 2 years we have yet to produce advacados of high enough quality and quantity to take to the market (good for personal use).
      So somewhere between 10,000 ($300) - 20,000 ($600) baht a month gross maybe? Could be more/less, of coursse, depending on the market in your area.
