The law is the law. No permit, no performing. The city has to control the numbers of people performing. Supposing someone does have their permit to perform in that spot, and there's someone else there? If you are accepting money from the public, you need a permit, especially.The security officers can't just turn a blind eye; they must be fair to everyone.

@ I am glad it was small. I enjoy your performances. I live in Madison, Wisconsin. We have street performers on the Capital Square in the summer, the city makes them have permits. I question it is common all over.
In the UK we have to get a public entertainment licence to play out and if we collect money we have to report how much we raised to licensing department at local council.

I've been a fan of Artur and then Avelina for a long time. However, the onus is on the performers to find out if a permit is required in order to perform and accept donations from the public. Permits help the city to keep control over how many performers are performing in any one place. There's also the issue of keeping public places clear for pedestrians. The quality of performers is also co sidered when issuing permits( which won't be an issue for these talented siblings). Please, don't demonise the staff who were only doing what their job requires of them. They were polite and respectful to the kids. I'm sure there are lots of other places they can play for the next 6-7 weeks, until they can get a permit.

That was ridiculous! Constable Plod and that short butch security guard harrassing these kids, whose biggest crime was bringing some joy into the lives of people walking past. Not even the Gestapo would have done that. Honestly, it isnt my taste in music but theres definitely talent, Id have emptied my bloody wallet into their cases. I made $150 one New Year, blind drunk, singing Waltzing Matilda along with a street busker in Sydney playing his harmonica. I cant even sing, and sounded like a cat being screwed, yet still $150. The busker then insisted I take his other harmonica, and it was a decent brand as well. He gave me a quick lesson and I played alongside him for a few hrs. No police stopped us or told us to move along. Honestly, such a move is heartless

I've been a fan of Artur and then Avelina for a long time. However, the onus is on the performers to find out if a permit is required in order to perform and accept donations from the public. Permits help the city to keep control over how many performers are performing in any one place. There's also the issue of keeping public places clear for pedestrians. The quality of performers is also co sidered when issuing permits( which won't be an issue for these talented siblings). Please, don't demonise the staff who were only doing what their job requires of them. They were polite and respectful to the kids. I'm sure there are lots of other places they can play for the next 6-7 weeks, until they can get a permit.
It's surprising that not a single musician plays there and there are no permits😆

К нам тоже подходят. В основном жалуются те, кто имеют магазины напротив мест, только от них это исходит, или я встала на частной территории😢. И посылают охранников, которые просто должны слушать своего хозяина, иначе их уволят. Замечательно сыграно!!!

That was ridiculous! Constable Plod and that short butch security guard harrassing these kids, whose biggest crime was bringing some joy into the lives of people walking past. Not even the Gestapo would have done that. Honestly, it isnt my taste in music but theres definitely talent, Id have emptied my bloody wallet into their cases.
I made $150 one New Year, blind drunk, singing Waltzing Matilda along with a street busker in Sydney playing his harmonica. I cant even sing, and sounded like a cat being screwed, yet still $150. The busker then insisted I take his other harmonica, and it was a decent brand as well. He gave me a quick lesson and I played alongside him for a few hrs. No police stopped us or told us to move along. Honestly, such a move is heartless
