Thanks. I have 6 to do and was trying to figure out a fast and easy way to do this that wouldn’t break the budget.

Your welcome. I like to build on a budget. The old bases are fine and after you clean them up they’re as good as new. Thanks for watching and taking time to comment

Where can I get the seat poles to go in there and the rubber gaskets?

Just a little time and elbow grease sure saves you a lot of money. I'm sure those bases are pretty expensive to purchase new. Looking good.........

What do you lubricate to keep them from sticking in the bases?

I use graphite spray. Or lithium grease spray they don’t make a huge mess. Another thing that works you just have to do it more and it don’t make a mess at all is silicon spray. You spray it on wait a minute then wipe it off.

What sealant do you use on through bolts to transom

I used a polyurethane call like for metal roofs. Any quality marine sealant will work. As for the small 1/4” bolts I used stainless neoprene washers on the outside

@@bowl830 so the neoprene washers are enough? I was going to use those and 5200

@@mikedrury1317 I put a drop of sealer on the threads anyway. But that’s all they put from the factory.

@@bowl830 how tight are the neoprene washers supposed to be? Mine are squeezing out the side… is that right??

Yes they’re supposed to compress the washer till it starts to squeeze past the washer. The washer is shaped to force it into the bolt first then out past the washer
