A 'kalpa' is apparently the long moment between the creation and recreation of the world, and Mihoyo loves to use the concept of samsara in their games. It's especially prevalent in _GGZ_ and _HI3_ , I think, but even shows up in _Genshin_ . But _GGZ_ especially is focused around Kiana and Mei, where the first playable samsara ends in Kiana and Mei destroying the world, as Herrscher of the End.
While it's possible that Acheron is an Emanator of Nihility, what if she's only using IX's power to seek something, so desperately she will sacrifice her memories, as though to _Fenghuang Down_ , to find it? What if instead, she's an Emanator of Finality, and the Finality is _HSR_ 's Kiana?
And what if she had already found Kiana, but we just didn't know it? Mei just needs to get her back now, and if that were the case, she wouldn't care who was between them, would she? This Mei is certainly the most aggressive version of her. Ei is mostly-detached. _HI3_ Mei will do anything for Kiana.
Coming back to 'kalpa,' Kalpas, the Flame-Chaser of Decimation was almost certainly more powerful and destructive than Duke Inferno and the entire Annihilation Gang, however he was not Madness either. He demanded that death have meaning, and he was smarter than to simply use brute force all the time. He always enjoyed a challenge, but could so rarely find one. A fitting personality for 'a moment between creation and recreation.' And the only person he worked with consistently was Sakura, whose Signet was Setsuna, a moment.

Fun thing to note. At the end of the dance, Black Swan has gone completely limp. Meaning that, even though she survived, and seemingly got away from Acheron's mind, the only reason that she hasn't collapsed is because Acheron STILL has a grip on her. So even though Black Swan gave absolutely everything that she had, just to get away from Acheron and survive, she actually failed. Since Acheron still hunted her down and caught her, even out of the mind scape.
Which only makes Black Swan's terror at the end even more valid, since a character that was introduced to seem almost untouchable, literally couldn't even get away from Acheron, without Acheron just letting her
