Whether you’ve never tried a robot vacuum before, or are just curious about the latest and greatest one out there, get a load of this guy, the JUST RELEASED Narwal Freo, which we received free for review.
The Narwal Freo Smart Robot Vacuum + Mop maps your floor and then vacuums and mops, separately or together, and in Freo Mode it’ll use smart technology to adjust the pressure, humidity, how many times to go over a section, etc. It’ll twist itself, and sway its little side brushes to and fro to reach every corner and wall. It’s just, in a word, AMAZING!!!
It comes with a bottle of cleaning fluid that it’ll use automatically (turn it off if you’d prefer mopping with just water). The clean and dirty water tanks are easy to fill and dump, the dust bin is a snap (literally). Oh, it self-cleans its mop pads to boot!
It has a great LED display panel on the home base, where you can control tons of features, but the phone app is where it’s at. On iPhone and Android, you can create a cleaning schedule (it’s very quiet but I can’t have it running while I’m filming videos, so I like to schedule it while we’re out or sleeping), specify “no go zones”, and much much more!
It cleans hardwood, tile, carpet, you name it, with an overlapping route so it won’t miss a crumb! It seamlessly goes between different types of flooring, able to clear .78” high obstacles, automatically lifting up its mop pads when hitting carpet, has no problem scanning for drops and hasn’t fallen off either of our 2 staircases. WOOHOOOO!!!
I’m honestly IN LOVE with this robot vacuum, which to be fair is our very first one, but it seems Narwal has left nothing out on this one. The only negative is it can only map one floor at a time and won’t save previous maps (hoping they’ll update this in their software soon), so if you have multiple floors you’ll need to buy a robot for each, OR just move it between floors and remap (which honestly takes 5 minutes, so not a big deal, it’s what we’re doing currently).

I have it and it doesn’t remap for a new room if you use different floors . You can add a custom plan with a new room .

wait what??? explain this magic!! we have 4 fours (split level) and i was told I had to remap when moving it between floors, or even moving it a few inches! mapping only takes 5 minutes so it's not a huge deal, but I'm curious...

Thank you for this review. Can you please tell me if the only benefit of the Freo model over the Narwal T10 is the fact that you do not have to physically lift the robot to switch it to vacuum mode? I have a Neato vacuum already and I don’t plan on using the Narwal as a vacuum. I am more interested in its mopping capabilities. I don’t have carpet, I only have hardwood floors and ceramic in my bathrooms. Please let me know if I should buy the Freo and not the T10.

I'm so sorry, I don't have the older version so I'm not sure. You're correct you don't lift it to switch, it can mop then vacuum, vacuum then mop, do both at the same time, and in Freo Mode it determines what needs to be done, the strength and humidity how many times to go over it etc, will twist and turn in corners and against the wall to get right up to it, and lifts it's pads automatically when hitting carpet. Their facebook group has been really helpful and they have support staff in there to answer questions as well: facebook.com/groups/285546759023734

cool how long dose the battery last

that's one of the best parts, it just goes home and charges whenever it needs to! to give you an idea, when it vacuums and mops my 1st floor, about 900sqft, it takes about 1.5-2 hours and doesn't need to charge (he was about about 50% battery when he finished cleaning yesterday). it goes back to the base several times to clean its mops and then when it's done it goes back in and charges back up to be ready for the next job ;)

literally all you have to do is dump the dirty tank and fill the clean water tank when it alerts you the clean water tank is empty, empty the dry dirt bin occasionally. i haven't had to yet but it will need the detergent bottle to be replaced when empty (it auto injects the cleaning solution when mopping so you literally plop the new bottle in there and don't worry about it til it tells you its empty) and the mop pads would probably need to be replaced at some point, no idea when, after a year? ha! it self cleans them so ours are looking great so far!

Doesn’t work with the app? Would be a big con!

yes, the app works great. actually i think they keep updating and working out bugs because initially i wasn't able to divide up my map like i wanted (said my areas were too small to divide) but a few days ago it let me and now it's even better cuz i can send it to do a quick clean of just the kids snack area LOL!!

I'm sorry this is the only robot vacuum I've ever had but as far as I have seen and heard, it knocks all others out of the water :P
