its definitely not for people just starting out i only started like 3 or 4 days ago so i only know like maybe a dozen words so i got no clue what they're saying
I've been learning for 6 months, this is definitely not at my beginner level. I can pick out words in the first dialogue that I'm familiar with, but I don't understand the question.
TheThrillanmanilla Don't be discouraged! This video is not for beginners. There is an online series of audio files called Russian Made Easy that are so great to learn from; simply Google it. I've had such an adventure with the Russian language and I hope you do too.
@YouCan It depends on what you call a beginner. But, as pointed out upper in the comments, in this video there are all cases possible, a lot of vocabulary, some difficult grammar constructions (subjonctive for example). To really understand everything here, I mean the reason of all constructions and spellings, you need to know all the basics of Russian grammar. When you know this, you're intermediate, not beginner.
Ok, This will be the video that I'll use to compare my Russian. In a few months I'll come back here and try to understand it, now I can only understand the word "где". I started to learn Russian 2 days ago, I can read most of the words already (not perfectly), but I don't know what they mean.
NOT FOR BEGINNERS. I've been living in Russia for a year, studying 30 minutes a day, and speaking with locals many times a week. I can catch a few words but still have NO IDEA WHATS GOING ON.
30 minutes a day is very little my friend. Diplomats put 8 hours daily at Berlitz schools. You need at least 2 daily, plus Exposing yourself as much as possible and watching TV in Russian. Then you'll see quicker progress!

I'm a native speaker, I think it's for elementary students, definitely not for those who have started learning Russian from scratch but people speak really slowly in this video if we compare it with the speed of the real life conversation somewhere in a shop or in an office. In a way it wasn't bad but still I guess that they shouldn't have marked it for beginners, it's not actually true) if you want to study Russian, you should be really persistent, it takes a lot of time and effort but it's absolutely worth it!:) Lots of love from Moscow)
It is... if you only know a few words you shouldn't expect to solve this. Learn words and a bit of grammar then come back and you'll know some of these.
Да какое это для начинающих? Тут просто отвлечься достаточно чтобы потерять суть повествования. "Я возьму первое". А какое первое??? Я сильно сомневаюсь что иностранец сможет понять о каком ожерелье идет речь. Тем более в русском для "ожерелья за 300 кусоков" есть название "бусы". I really disappointed with this listening. Being Russian, i could not get the point during first attempt because it can easily be lost. Its not for beginners.
This is so useful and great!! I learned so much from this. I can understand 2/4 of it. And my answers is correct most of the time :D This is not for beginner beginners but you have to know at least a few words to understand it. Maybe watch their other videos where they teach words. You have to learn at least 2-3 pages of words to understand it. Don't blame the video makers blame yourself and learn words :D!! Have fun on your journey of leeeaaarrrnnniiiiggggg~
To everyone saying it is not for beginners I'd argue that it is, if you watch beginner listening practice on other languages you'll see it is of a similar difficulty. Russian is a very hard language, it takes a lot of effort and hard work to speak, but you can't lower the standard of how proficient a beginner should be because of this. Its normal that it takes far longer to understand listening practice for in beginners in Russian compared to Spanish for example. (If your native language is English)
