Hmmm... Now, I might have to save for this one. Looking forward to the comparison video. Love my 9960 but, hitting the panel with my quilts has been a pain in the neck. I tape a piece if cardboard over the panel so I don't hit the buttons so easily. It helps.
Hi Diane! I imagine this would be a good choice for you since you had trouble with your project interfering with your stitch selection. That sounds so annoying. I also like that this has stitch memorization. Just starting to explore that and will cover that in a video.

Singer seems to have redesigned their Class 15 bobbins. At least the ones in the 4 pack at walmart. The new design has an indent around the outer edges and thinner plastic, possibly to save on cost.
I noticed that the ones I got in the Sew it Goes kit were a little different as well.
Hi Roxanne, my C430 looks like it came with 15J bobbins. They are the same shape/size as the blue tinted 15Js that came with my Singer 7422. I compared them to the Class 15 Bobbins that I received with the Singer Sewing Essentials+ kit and the kit ones are taller and flat. Maybe it is a tossup on what bobbins are included with the machines? It's a mystery for sure.
Hi Lon! Nope not a mystery this time at all. The manual states Class 15 and that's exactly what came with my C430.
Does this machine offer all the extra pressure feet that come with the 9960? Can I use them feet on this model? My most dislike about the 9960, is hitting them buttons when I am machine quilting..
Hi Kathleen. No this model only comes with the presser feet that I show in the video. BUT, the extra feet that came with the 9960 should work on this machine too.

@@RoxanneStitches almost identical face of the machine but missing the cutter. Looks like the identical case otherwise. Seems that the 9940 was produced for only a few years then replaced by the 9960. Although they looked a bit different they had similar functions. Minus the cutter and a handful of stitches. I’ll be looking forward to watching this series!

No. The C430 doesn't come with a cover.

Hi Gena. It's basically the same machine. Same smooth, quiet sewing. It comes with fewer accessories but the price is lower as well.
