A little insight as to the mentality of the people that designed it, make it complicated and sell it as something superior, no one else has this equipment as soon as you hear that head the other direction if no one else has it it’s probably for good reason .
Everything he was doing with three sticks can be done with one. I can drive a two stick 5 and 4 with anyone, but why when it isnt needed. The last 4 x 4 I drove was air shift and that was over 40 years ago. There is a reason they no longer make shit like that. Back when a 250 hp truck was a hot rod, and you needed to keep the engine wound up, you saw lots of triplexes 5 x 3, 4 x 4, and 5 x 4s. Today the two stick types are pointless and even having two boxes us pointless in most applications. Just something else to work on rather than driving, which after all us where you make money.
It’s not a real triplex transmission. Nothing special here. It’s just a 13/18 speed. Far left is splitter. Middle is shifter. Far right is range hi/lo.
Lot of work shifting when you could do it with one stick, high low button and a spitter button. If you what to be Billie big rigger put a 5 and a 4 in your truck, you'll have 2 sticks, 20 forward gears and 4 reverse gears.
I like the Billy Big Rigger, hadn't heard it for a while. A long time ago I put two sticks on a Chevy 3speed manual because I couldn't afford a shifter and the original column one was broken and inoperable. It worked but it was inconvenient, I ran the two stick trucks before they had power, wasn't that cool then, inconvenient.
yeah its a 18 with the switches as sticks. i dont know why hes shifting with two hands. guess he wants to look cool. if he ever has a blowout while shifting he wont do it again. The left stick is hi/lo the middle is gear and the right is splitter
Its actually simple than you think, the stick on the left is the splitter, the one in the middle is the main shifter and its the layout as a normal 18 speed, the one on the far right is the one puts it in the higher and lower gears
Most stock general purpose tractors are 10 spd either manual or auto Like the big companies run The 18 speeds are usually owner operator or heavy haul, logging, wreckers and specialized jobs
I've been able to drive anything that I've had the opportunity to, but that would be a real challenge. I would love to have the opportunity to try driving something like it. 🤙
I like the set up. Looks like a 13 speed or an 18 and you're just not splitting the bottom half. With that said, you don't have to pull the main stick out to split, but I understand it makes the video look a little cooler.
He was driving it like a eaton 13 speed, based on my previous experience. He didn't have to pull the stick out in high range, but it definitely makes it look cool.
I pull out on the 13 speed I drive, if the splitter has a leak and the gear engagement is weak, the extra pressure of leaving it in gear sometimes misses a shift. If I pull it to neutral then split it never misses. Idk the technical reason for it but I'm guessing air leak in my splitter circuit causing weak engagement. But it does have a purpose in select scenarios lol
Just a 18 speed with a stick for hi lo and direct and overdrive not a true twin stick or triple stick not like a 5x4 a 6x4 4x4 quadrupled. Or a old Mack with a 5 hi lo with a 3 way brownie that was a true triple stick 3 transmissions under her.

Yep, brain just fucking exploded. I have no idea how this dude is doing this or what's happening with three shift sticks. That's pretty awesome to watch.
You are a good driver you split them smooth that is some thing your born able to do some juat should stay with a normal air spliter you get in the mountians in winter time and not make the clime and spin out you have to find reverce real fast and let the jake control the load or your just going for a ride and end up going over the side . you could do it that how you realy find out if they can drive a 5x4 with high and low I know that most of the trucks I had to recover out of a canyon had that kind only a cuple of them lived to tell about it we had some that took 2 wreckers and a rotater to get them up that a good trany for heavy loads in canyons .
Came here to watch a guy who needs more than the two hands god provided him with juggle three gearshifters with no hands left to hold the steering wheel.. Wow i mean just fuckin wow🤣
Ok, so not only do I not understand what's happening here but he gotta take both his hands off the steering wheel to shift too 👀? Nevermind. I'm glad they made rigs in automatic now.
You never had that many sticks in your hand😂. Honestly the setup is no different than a Eaton with a splitter. The 3rd stick is just high low with the axles as you would do the range switch and the twin stick is no other then the splitter that became a button.
Dude what are you talking about this is fucking epic yoo! Like can you image what this man had to go through to learn this and do that that many times like mannn. This guy is a god at truck drivin yo. Shifting like that is an art
Amazing how you can take something as easy to shift as an 18 speed and make it so complicated, make 3 times the work for yourself, and all while trying to make it look like you've got old skool skill when all you you're doing is faking it. Putting lever shifters in place of 2 button shifters just makes more work and less room in the cab. But it's his truck, his money, and him dealing with the folks making fun of him...

Came for the shifting and stayed for the turbo 👌👌
2, nice sound!
You can drive trust me want to learn that
Ent it!!!
I’ve driven for 39 years and have never seen anything like that. I love it!
It's just a 13/18 speed. One stick is the splitter and the other the range selector, then the main gears
this w900 engine is a symphony to my ears

Splitter on the right high low on the left and gears in the middle it's so fun to drive this I love it very nice man
I'd like to see him try to text while driving!
No Problem his Cellphone has 4 Stick to chosse the letters and signs :-)
Thats what he has feet for so he can use his toes to txt

Head phone user's warning. That turbo tho damn it sounds good
It sounds so sxy.
Shit I got my speakers on blast! Love the sound of angry Nagasaki noisy bois!! 😎
That's a lot of work. You must love it
One stick is for gears
The other is a low range- high range
And the third one is a splitter?
I think he took the tops off every gear

And, just like that, it made sense! Thanks, @Trays
It's an a and b transmission. Every 5 and 4 is the same.
@traysworlds7597 don't you mean the other way around. I thought the 5 speed was on the left and the splitter 4 speed on the right.
@@danielrowe2174 Both of you are wrong. It's just a standard 13/18 speed with fancy sticks.
This ridiculous if not dangerous for no hands on the steering wheel.

I think them other sticks are just to look cool & help keep from getting bored on the road, kinda like a Worry Stone or a Rubics Cube.
I agree, it's a joke. I learned on sticks, 5&4, 4&3, 4&4, way back, never heard of or saw a 3 stick, but it sure got my attention.

Knee steering so you can shift with bother hands.
