It is a one-off drama that was broadcast in 1983 in the ""Jidaigeki Special"" slot of Fuji Television, and is based on a masterpiece by Shin Hasegawa that has been made into movies and stages many times since before the war. In April of the following year, the drama ""Zenigata Heiji"" ended, and the late Okawa Hashizo, who would die of illness in December of the same year, captivated with his mature performance. In particular, the melancholy of the protagonist who returns from a vicious journey is soothing.
Izu Shimoda. The Onabe family, a long-established fishing net operator, is repeatedly harassed by a new scallop family that is targeting their fishing grounds. Ginpei (Okawa Hashizo), a small head of the Onabe family, is in love with Oichi (Sakaguchi Ryoko), the only daughter of his advisor Gohei (Orimoto Junkichi), but Gohei tells him that Oichi is going to marry Unokichi (Kondo Masaomi), Ginpei's brother. Finally, the Oonabe and the Hotate families quarrel, and Ginpei kills Tajiro (Katagiri Ryuji), a loan shark for the Hotate family, and leaves Oichi in Unokichi's care, setting off on a treacherous journey. Five years later, on a trip, Ginpei hears that the master of the Onabe family is dead and the Hotate family is on the run, so he heads to Shimoda. ......

I have a feeling that I've seen a movie about a yakuza who goes back to his fishing village with a more contemporary backdrop, where pistols, rifles, and cars are present. Unfortunately, I can't recall the title and the cast of the film.
