This is a very good question indeed. 1. All DC polished tiles will have approx same scratch resistance. The approved standard test for these tiles measures how much material the test conditions remove from surface; lesser material means higher resistance. 2. For glazed products, it can vary widely. So can't say that all matte finished GVT will have almost same resistance. The applicable test is also different and the scratch / abrasion resistance is measured in terms of PEI 1 to 5. Higher number means high resistance to scratch. Thr above situation prevents me to make a general statement and compare the two mentioned tiles. The hardness of glazed products (GVT is a glazed vitrified tile) depends on which glaze was used which varies from company to company, product to product even through finish would be matte! You may find it amusing and little disappointing, but that's how standards are defined. If you want good scratch resistance in GVT product, it should be PEI 4 and for very aggressive environment, PEI 5. Thank you.

Sir can we install both the types of tiles with Paper joints? My contractor suggests that matt finish should always have space and grout but space is optional for DC polished.
Space between two tiles is primary required to protect them from stress generated because of thermal expansion or other Structural movement. This space then needs to be filled by a good grout which should also have deformability. Whatever finish or design your tiles have, it doesn't change the fact. People avoid gaps for aesthetic reasons. You can avoid too but our job is to inform you that sometimes ignoring this could bring unwanted result in long term. Thank you for writing to us. - Team OTF
Also try full body (unglazed one) in matte. It becomes challenging for most manufacturers to produce flat surface of (un glazed) DC/ Full-body because it requires much higher precision and efforts than polished tiles...when they polish it, little part from the top is shaved and they achieve desired flatness. You may still get some salt-n-pepper type DC/ FB tiles in matte. If not, then you may have to consider good quality matte finished, GVT from the market.
aap bol rhe DC me scratch resistant jyada hai but , White & Cream colour me black scratch jyada dikh rahe h , jabki gvt me glaze ki vajah se scratch nhi aa rahe ??
Scratch Anna ek technical issue hai, dikhna ya na dikhna visual illusion hai. All polished GVT have lower abrasion resistance than DC tiles. This is technical fact. If you are happy with GVT polished tiles, which may he OK for low traffic area like residence, please enjoy their beauty. You will get more design options in GVT than DC. HappY Tiling! - Team OTF
GVT is better than double charge in many aspects. Such as size option of double charge is less. And double charge comes in different shades with no patterns but GVT comes in different sizes and with more patterns.
Low thickness for porcelain / vitrified tiles is OK ...Lekin fixing proper hona chahiye... tile k neeche air gaps nahi hone chahiye yani niche ki concrete surface aur tile ke beech adhesive Poora cover karna chahiye. Thank you. - Team OTF
RECTIFIED ka matlab sirf itna hota hai ki tiles ki chaaro sides cut karke ek sapaat kee gayi hain... iska tile type se kuchh lena-dena nahi hai,,,, aajkal lagbhag sabhi tiles RECTIFIED hee hain. Flooring ke liye agar aap polished tiles soch rahe hain, to Double Charge ka scratch resistance, polished GVT se zyaada hota hai. Thank you. Keep watching. - Team OTF
No. Double charge tiles are not glazed and generally polished (glossy) but can be matt also. GVT has a layer of glaze on top and could be matte and polished (glossy) also...when GVT is polished, it is termed as PGVT which stands for Polished Glazed Vitrified Tile. You may tune in to an earlier podcast where classification/Types of Tiles are explained. Thank you for writing to us. - Team OTF
Appreciate your suggestion. At this moment time is a big constraint for creating 2 podcast videos on same topic . However, we have plan to provide English content in Blogs soon till English video channel starts. Thank you. - Team OTF
Breaking strength should be almost same if the thickness is same as both have porcelain bodies. However, scratch resistance can vary depending upon the surface finish. - Team OTF
As compared to GVT, design range will always be lesser in DC . Any visual can be printed in GVT because wahaan glaze hai aur printing aasaan hai. DC me design small particles ko arrange karke bananti hai. Lekin polished versions ke DC tile ka scratch resistance Polished GVT se bahut zyada hota hai.

@@dineshvyasOTFsir I tried to get double charged but only one design liked so we took GVT verified single charged for guest room (K12608)
There is no issue in using GVT polished tiles in residential floor. You may share the pic for the OTF audiences 👍

What is digital. I saw today maximum tiles are digital tiles.
'Digital' tiles are the ones where Printing of design is done using special inkjet digital printers. Most glazed tiles are digitally printed.
Digital=gvt
