  • A common issue with setting up the 1937 Pattern Web Equipment for Officers is how to attach the compass pocket and the pistol ammunition pouch to the brace attachments to stop them slipping down. This video runs through the details which are not quite as clear when simply read from the fitting instructions.

Back in the eighties, when information was hidden and a secret, you collected these items and you played with them until it fitted and the system worked..... glad I worked it out correctly......it was fun working it out back in the day I might add.
    Thanks for the Gen.

Really informative video! The kit looks great blancoed. If you don't mind me asking, where did you get the blanco?

+Jamie McAdoo Thanks! The blanco was actually made for us in proper dry block form, sadly only a couple of blocks left now. Will be on to 'liquid blanco' after that.

Any ideas where to buy specific parts of the standard equipment belt. I got one for £2 at the surplus store in good shape, but it's missing some of the brass clip parts. Any suggestions mate?

+TaZ101SAGA I'm afraid the best advice I can give is to keep an eye on eBay or look around at shows, some stalls sometimes have spare brasses for sale.

One option is to find a tatty old belt that has the brass fittings and use those to repair the good belt

Cross-draw would normally mean fitting the holster on the left, most people being right-handed.

Indeed, that is how the set is supposed to be assembled.

Нынче вся фурнитура пластиковая...которая имеет склонность ломаться от жары и мороза...

When women were allowed to design, the suspender
belt was consigned to history and tights came in.

Clumsy junk. They should have got a woman to design it.
