    When heavy payload and towing on high speed dirt road, hitting hole can bend chassis easily. People say it's because rear wheels are too far forwards creating cantilever effect at back/towbar.
    Hopefully longer wheelbase 2025 model has fixed this issue.

  • @BlisAx
    @BlisAx 8 років тому +1

    Because they always did the door open test with the 1 front tire off the ground, it doesn't really matter the amount of weight in the bed because the weight trying to twist the truck is always the same. It's always going to the the weight of the front end, the same weight every time. Now I'd like to see the 2 rears on solid ground while 1 front tire is driven up a ramp, that might yield some different results.

      @GrimYak 8 років тому

      Maurice Cooper actually no. we had these trucks and the bed is small you have less space to work with compared with the hilux or the ranger. suspension is too soft when you around corners you actually have to be careful not to flip over. the engine has a lot of tourque but very unrefined unlike the toyotas and the new 2.2 and 3.2 diesels fro. ford.

    • @GrimYak
      @GrimYak 8 років тому

      Maurice Cooper it rolls over pretty easily. This is called the Mitsubishi Estrada from where im and the toyota hilux and ford rangers are outselling these. The ridgeline is about the same size, between the 2 id get this simply because it is diesel.

      Actually not all chassis are design in the same way. Sometimes the best for reliability is a flexible chassis. Example, big trucks. The rigidity is pretty important for handling in roads. I know two super duty f350 srw that are use for carrying 3 tons in the bed, and after years, no problems.

  • @mrblond750
    @mrblond750 7 років тому +2

    I like how companies now have to prove that the tailgate and doors will still work when the truck is loaded. What happened to the days when you expected that everything will still work properly regardless.
    This is why I drive old vehicles. I put 2 tons of gravel in my 70 F250 and guess what, everything still worked.

    Whats the use of the frame bend test if you didnt open the doors while a tire hangs. "Frame test" but opens the doors when all four tires are on the ground.

      udukukui best option can be hilux though reputations were both solid but ow.... ohhhw... have you ever read the scouting report? maaan, and even moose test it failed HAHA 👎. Indeed, higher torque and output, says the "paper" but hilux trolling in real world even way behind to strada. Some big headed-drivers think they own the road. Exterior👈 mehhh... R.I.P. "King is Dead"

    • @udukukui

      yes, it is a solid car. and yes it failed moose test. can you suggest what makes dmax superior to hilux other than it passed the "most important" test in the world called moose test?
      i tell you what, you cant.
