That’s impressive! I can’t even open my tailgate that easy with no load on flat ground without a ratchet strap keeping the bedsides together! Cool promotional video!
When heavy payload and towing on high speed dirt road, hitting hole can bend chassis easily. People say it's because rear wheels are too far forwards creating cantilever effect at back/towbar. Hopefully longer wheelbase 2025 model has fixed this issue.
Any brand new truck especially one that was built past 2000 should be able to do this test no problem not to mention they started the test load on the tailgate and they finished it with completely Inside the Box
A lot of people talk stupid stuff ... there are close to NONE american cars that can handel this test like this L200 . Some trucks twist on there own without any load ..

Because they always did the door open test with the 1 front tire off the ground, it doesn't really matter the amount of weight in the bed because the weight trying to twist the truck is always the same. It's always going to the the weight of the front end, the same weight every time. Now I'd like to see the 2 rears on solid ground while 1 front tire is driven up a ramp, that might yield some different results.
Maurice Cooper actually no. we had these trucks and the bed is small you have less space to work with compared with the hilux or the ranger. suspension is too soft when you around corners you actually have to be careful not to flip over. the engine has a lot of tourque but very unrefined unlike the toyotas and the new 2.2 and 3.2 diesels fro. ford.
