- My HD Deluxe was fitted with a full Bassani exhaust system, sounds good. Very happy with it. It travels the length of the original exhaust and keeps that sleek look about it.

This week I went to buy some 'Rinehart Slip Ons' for my 'Deluxe', and hearing them on another bike I was Shocked in how LOUD they were!!!

@@tpv59Hi Terry it's not as loud as Reinharts or Vance and Hines. There is a video of me doing a ride past on the Deluxe. As far as legal goes technically all bikes should comply with the ADR which means any mod could be classed as illegal. This is why Harley owners keep their old mufflers just in case. I've been riding Harleys for 37 years and never been defected. I've lived in NT, QLD and SA and never had issues. I don't go on Poker runs or outlaw organised rides as they attract the coppers and that is when you would be looked at. The quietest slip ons are Screaming Eagle but are a waste of money, not much different to stock. Check out my Breakout video on th S and S slip ons, they sounded nice and not too loud. That would be my choice for slip ons.

I just bought the 2019, now I'm sorry I didn't get a '17. No horseshoe oil tank and the missing grab rail is truly a shame. Just not a Harley anymore.

Hi Ian, I'm seriously thinking about purchasing a new 2019 Deluxe. Just wondering what your pipes cost landed in SA and where in the usa you got them? Are the pillion peg mounting holes above both exhausts or between the two? Thank you for the review too.
I got them from Adelaide Harley Davidson Bikeworks at Edwardstown. Cost about $900 and the foot peg is above the pipes.

ParrotHead 1809 Hi, I have the full stage 1 with the now obsolete Screaming Eagle Race tuner Pro, the orange one. This bike goes like a rocket ship. I have the bassani headers as well. Ride Safe.

Iansouthoz great looking bike. Thank you for making the video. I’m thinking about these for my Deluxe and as far as I know, they are about the only 2-2 full length option. I like the sound but can not guess how loud they are. What would you rate them 1-10 (10 loudest)?
I'd rate them a 5 the neighbours want hate you and the coppers will leave you alone and target the Vance and Hinze.
Beautiful ride, love the pipes, did installing the exhaust void the warranty? In the states they will usually only allow slip ons.
No, here as long as the my Harley Dealer installs the full system/ Stage 1 your still covered under factory warranty. Even if not Harley exhaust as is my case. My Road King has full Vance and Hines exhaust and still covered.

GoPro 7 on the helmet and Panasonic G7 on the tripod. The G7 is a great alrounder particularly for video.

Too bad they don't offer a fishtail exhaust tips...

Doesn't look like you have fitted stage one breather kit on it. Have new tri glide trike with 1 & 2 fitted and Rhinehart exhaust. Unreal difference.
Aces & Eights yes I have the Stage 1 kit with screaming eagle race tuner and free flow cleaner. I wanted to keep the original air cleaner look.
can i ask what your height is and how comfortably you fit that bike?
Sorry for the delay, 5' 7" and my feet are flat with bent knees. An extremely good fit and I feel secure on the bike unlike the Ultra.

Had these pipes on my 18 Heritage but I feel like they’re too muffled so changing them to something else. Too quiet
Irish Dunn I didn't want them too loud as the coppers are always setting up road blocks and checking noise pollution. We loose points of our license now otherwise it wouldn't bother me.

Hi Ian - I am assuming that the baffles are in the pipes in this video?I bought the same bike,got it about two weeks after you and i have the same pipes on order(by the way when did you order yours as I am still waiting?)- apparently the pipes have removable baffles and judging by the two bolts in the underside of the pipes,the baffles are in?Have you had the baffles out?What does that sound like?Cheers.
Mick Holze No , I haven't had the baffles out. It does sound good in RL with them in. Adelaide Harley just got mine in Monday. They got another set in as well I believe for someone but with black end caps. They have only just arrived to the dealers. I originally ordered V&H big shots but was told none in Country until Oct.
So a week after I got the bike, I changed to Bassani as they were due in May. I really like the full length just like the originals. Cheers. I just ordered the Harley Sundowner solo seat for it. i will do a vlog when I get it next week. Ride Safe.

How does the Bassani’s compare to the Rineharts? Why did you choose the Bassani’s?
I chose Bassani as they maintained that full length muffler which seemed to fit the style. Another reason is they were the first to make them for the M8 Deluxe. I got the first ones to Australia otherwise I had to wait to approx October for other brands.
How Loud would you say these are?
NO louder than screaming eagle but quieter than vance and hines.
Can you please tell me what is the mileage of it for 1 litre
Not sure really, definitely better then any car though. 390ks + out of a tank.

I would say it would sound better in real life, the cam mic won't do it justice.

They have completely destroyed the look of the Deluxe , they have removed the old world 1949 look and taken parts off it like the grab handle at the back of the seat , the indicators are now modern and plain rather than the old world sculptured look and the beautiful Harley wings on the tank removed , what a mess , where is their brains , why would you apply a modern look to an old world Harley , what they have done to the exhaust is the worst aspect of the butchery .
Bruce Burns agree HD went the wrong direction here. Tech upgrade are fine, but turning the look in direction of a metric bike is a nonstarter. Love my 2016 and would not be interested in a 2018.
Doc Holliday , Yes very sad , as I was thinking of up grading as my Deluxe is now 11 years old , but I look at mine with all the extras and it a gem of a bike which I think would be very difficult to part with , but the tech upgrade would if been nice , I hope they have improved the gear change to a little bit smoother , that is my only dislike but next oil change I'm going to the next heavier grade above the 75 95 synthetic and see what happens , I find the hotter the motor the more it clunks .
I totally agree with all your comments, - my thoughts exactly. I cringed the first time I saw the new Deluxe exhaust, - they did it to the Heritage as well
I like the looks of the new Deluxe better than the older one. A very sharp freshening of a design that has been around for a while. Doesn't ruin a thing. Still great looking.
