This is the performance that brought Jimmy onto my radar. He has been my crush ever since. So happy he has been recovering from his massive 2018 stroke. Loved seeing his gorgeous smile in the wedding videos of both of his girls. Sophia has now made him a grandpa! #foreverajimmyfan
I used to watch Fame, but not all of the time, so I missed this episode. If I knew that Jimmy was going to be on the show, I would have watched it. It's the same with Love Boat. I watched it every week, so I saw the episode when Donny was on the show, but missed the episode with Marie
he only did this one episode. his character was supposed to be mentally retarded and they were trying to mainstream him without telling anyone (seriously) it didn't work out and he went back to his "special" school.
Jimmy certainly holds back at the beginning but as he gets into the song, he really does belt it out. Excellent performance of keeping within character 👏 👌 ❤❤❤❤
That was Great, I do remember seeing this episode back in day when I use to watch this show!! It was a a true joy to watch and hear Jimmy sing 🎶 on the show ( Fame !!! ) .
wow saw this so many years ago on TV....I remember hearing "another version" of this song a few years later and thought ..."that's the song little Jimmy Osmond was singing on Fame"
I remember this episode. The character he played had a stutter and was mentally challenged. That actually made the performance even more impressive. Impressive acting skills.
Fun thought: Paul McCartney could not have passed an audition to get into the New York High School of Performing Arts. He never learned to read sheet music.
nailed it, its not quite british but its a very nice clean performance of the song its sung how its supposed to no drawing it out or slowing it down or adding wacky sounds to it like they do to old songs today when remaking
He was playing a character called Troy, a kid with learning difficulties who had been 'mainstreamed' into the NYSA. Bruno was a really supportive friend in this episode.

This song is sung so perfectly by Jimmy Osmond.
I've never forgotten this performance from when it was first shown on TV in Britain in the early 80's. Fame movie and early series were so good.
I agree hahaha saw it when I was a kid in Israel though.
I agree hahaha saw it when I was a kid in Israel though.
Yup
I went looking for this song, when I remembered Fame . But now I can't find fame the series anywhere ? Anyone know where it is ?

I was a huge fan of Fame; both the TV show and the movie. I don’t remember Jimmy being on the TV show! I’ll have to rewatch this! It’s really good.
I feel very old when i Watch this. I was Seven when i watched Fame for the First time and i love it.
I totally forgot about this! This is great.
After all these years - I just noticed that Mr Shorofsky - the music teacher - is tapping along out of beat. 😮

Jimmy Osmond is so cute talented. I didn't know he was in Fame.

I remember this episode and scene because of the song, didn’t know it was Jimmy Osmond then.
Just a guest spot! He never got the recognition he deserved!🙄
@Peggy I was about to post the exact same thing!
Jimmy certainly holds back at the beginning but as he gets into the song, he really does belt it out. Excellent performance of keeping within character 👏 👌 ❤❤❤❤
One of my favorite scenes in the series!

Nacía uno de los mejores cantantes del mundo la voz le salía del alma sus canciones fueron angelicales
I remember this episode.
The character he played had a stutter and was mentally challenged.

Impressive acting skills.
I’m totally loathe to admit it but this was really good.
También empezó como un gran actor juvenil era completo Jimy Osmond no era de éste mundo si no como se explica su voz Angelical

Very good

Great
OMG! Prof. Shorofsky: "Young and Foolish" -- written by Albert Hague: The Tony Bennett/Bill Evans Album -- a song and an album For The Ages.
Broadway Musical called Plain and Fancy has a song called Young and Foolish written by Albert Hague.
Janet& Jimmy Chaz (Chastity)...couldn't wait to wake up on Ottawa drive and watch the babies of bunch. 👶
I wonder what year this was. He as well as his family were soooooo cute!
"We were all young and cute it was the 80's!!!!"
@Dewayne Miller I did not. Thank you!
@@shooter-x1762 I was a precious, unfertilized, egg in my mother. Adorable
It was 1982 i remember when this aired

Before Rachel Berry, there was Coco Hernandez.
I liked Fame back then.
In the two episodes of Fame in which he guest-starred, his character, a brilliant singer, was autistic 👍
Jimmy’s voice got better as he got older
no your hearing just got worse
Is that MTV VJ Mark Goodman on the piano?
Coco was very jalous now she has to share the fame
This was simultaneously the most annoying and satisfying 80s TV series
How annoying douse it annoys you?
How tall is Jimmy? Anyone know??
I went to school with the piano player...Lee Curreri
So cool!!!!
Oh so you went to the school of performing arts with Leroy and Doris etc!!!!!!!

Was he acting?
But was he meant to be as himself in this or was he playing a character role?
IIRC playing a kid with some handicap.
He was playing a character called Troy, a kid with learning difficulties who had been 'mainstreamed' into the NYSA. Bruno was a really supportive friend in this episode.
He looks so nervous in this.
Thats part of his character
The piano player Looks Like Joe Satriani The Super Guitar player
What’s the point?
What’s the point? It’s one of the greatest songs of time. That’s enough point. Do your homework man, you’ll get it.
He looked so much like his brother Merrill! But when was he ever this skinny???
He looks nervous at the beginning.
It was because the character he played in the show
In real life he wasn't nervous
Jimmy and Merrill sure look alike
