  • This is a complete list of RPGs for the Sega Dreamcast. I've looked around and I often see lists for the console, but every list I've seen so far is usually a couple of games short from being complete. So, here you have it!
The music is public domain and a remix uploaded by an anonymous individual to a site where they remix scores from various video games. The song is called, "Few Paths Forbidden," and it comes from the game, "Seiken Densetsu 3."
All RPGs are in alphabetical order. This list is solely comprised of RPG titles that are exclusive to North America and Europe. There are no Japanese titles on this list. The titles are as follows:
    English Titles:
    1. Dragon Riders: Chronicles of Pern
    2. Elemental Gimmick Gear
    3. Evolution
    4. Evolution 2
    5. Grandia II
    6. Phantasy Star Online
    7. Phantasy Star Online, Version 2
    8. Record of Lodoss War
    9. Silver
    10. Skies of Arcadia
    11. Time Stalkers
    Heavily Debated/Hybrid
    12. Shenmue
There you have it! I hope you enjoy!

This helped me find a game I had forgotten the name of, that I had been looking for, for years!

I've been looking for this game that I think is on Dreamcast. You start out as a knight on a train? When you get to the end of the train there is a green monster you have to fight? You could miss the fight if you're not fast enough and fight the monster later in the game. Not very descriptive, but hopefully someone can help.

Sounds like Dark Savior on the Sega Saturn. You're on a boat though, not a train.

You realize you can play it on 3ds, and Gamecube and probably wii and wii u. Why dont you just play it on one of those. Or just a regular 64....

record of lodoss war? WOW That game def got good treatment from Sega. Sadly Australia had hardly any RPGS here hurting the dreamcast's chances of me buying a machine

Due to the Dc short US lifespan not many RPGs were released. Especially since after a year after the DC was released already rumored ( a rumor started by Sony) that Sega would pull out. By the way Phantasy 2 was released on the Sega Smash Pack. I guess you cant count that to lol..

Sega may have been more then a bit too over eager to outdo everyone at the time but the good intentions were there plus they always broke new ground console wise even if the ideas never always panned out

Lloyd Duff Yea they were a bit too early . They ere the trend setters. Unfortunately when you are first others w copy then improve on it. I sometimes wonder if Sega would of just went w the Dvd and maybe had the modem as a later add on. Things might of been different.
Online gaming was in its infancy back then.

Luis X I agree. Sega was early with DVD tech as well with he Sega CD. Despite that the Sega CD/Saturn/Dreamcast had amazing games. It makes me wonder if Sega would still be breaking new ground even today as a modern Sega machine would seriously kick ass. Also back in 1999 the internet was only just coming into being and info on Sega games esp. PAL ones was thin on the ground. Plus most shop keepers had little to zero info only wanting a sale. Not much was offered in Australia sadly

+Roddy Rod phantasy star online good as well. Timestalkers was also fine and Evolution 1 and 2 were great. Maybe childish look but gameplay is hard you really have to level up and re-enter dungeons for better items. It's worth playing

I played Grandia 2 on the PS2 and ok not as decent as Part 1 but it didn't suck either but the final boss was so laughable he was a parody of Gaia from the 1st.

the PS2 version of Grandia 2 is probably the worst. Dreamcast version was superior and rendered on the fly, where as PS2 had to load and time the cutscenes and was full of bugs.
