- One of the most challenging part of being a beginner in tailoring is trying to sew in a straight line. It seems like a very difficult task and you wonder how some tailors manage to come out with perfect straight line stitches on clothes. It is not magic. There’s a technique to it. In this video, i show the technique that you can use to sew in a straight line.

But, how do you keep it the material from wavering around, my son-in-law calls it “drunk driving” 😂. I’m not a new sewer but not experienced either, this is just something I’m still struggling with, mostly with any material that is not 100% cotton.
Lolzz Yeah, that happens sometimes when you're using a lightweight fabric. One method to prevent that is to use hemming gum in some parts that you sew; hemming gum is a sort of cloth gum. There's also a strategy to use in feeding the fabric into the sewing machine. I'll make a separate video on that soon.
