race has changed a bit over the years. run in military gear, 42lb pack, first portion about 34 k, next portage with 60/70lb canoe about 5 ish k, then paddle about 7 ish k then run with pack again about 5 or 6 km..
this race taught me alot about my body. was a fantastic challenge for a young guy :P persistence prevails when all else fails

If everyone had a cheerleader like your wife, we would all be unstoppable. What a boss!
Every guy needs a wife as supportive as yours thats amazing
Yes indeed he is a lucky guy
Lois Lane bro.. what would you have her do?
@Jon Doe hey not cool.. Come on bro?
@@MrImmortalTT Indeed.
I came to say the same shit.
Legend has it:
During the race, Devon arm wrestled each competitor he passed!
Dude you made me laugh 😂
And won!
Your wife’s support not only for you but for the others as well.... my eyes are watery.... she is amazing 🌞
This is the dedication it takes to EARN the name "no limits"
You sir inspire me and many
Jody is the best
Lois Lane all day. Devon is one blessed brother.
You and your wife make an awesome team!
Now i understand a lot of your training view and where your mental strength comes from...
Lots of respect man...
After 16 years in the special forces you end up with a lot of mental strength I guess
Your wife knows how to encourage endurance sport. Well done with the #1! Pretty crazy how you had to carry that canoe
I had no idea, he was so fit.. that race is insane
Devon you are such a lucky guy. You have a wife that supports everything you do. She’s by your side shouting encouragement and she seems to have your back when people get a bit too mouthy! She’s awesome! It seems you found the perfect woman.
"Persistence prevails when all else fails" :)
It's not how you start it's how you finish .... Persistence pays
it suree does
I love how his hands are always in the same position, ready to armwrestle. Just look at the thumbnail
Those T-Rex wrists
It's an unfair advantage having such a wonderful supportive women cheering you on tho. ;)
She cheered everyone. Awesome
@@dougg1075 that was going to be my comment.
This woman is a rock! She is unbelievable supportive.
it really is impressive. gotta love when someones got your back like that
Jodi is most supportive person I've ever witnessed. Owned the canoe carry section double everyone else's speed, interesting watch thanks devon.
There is something so rewarding and satisfying to endure through a grinding physical test. Pushing oneself to reach a goal with determination and force of will, forever changes a man. Well Done
I know you’re all famous now, but I still periodically return to this video for inspiration.
Wow! How lucky you are to have such support in your life over the years! Now I understand why you wore that t-shirt in Dubai! You have my utmost respect!
Almost 20 years ago, good old days, times flies too fucking fast for my taste...
Devon you have incredible wife!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:)
Damn that’s amazing man! Good job representing the Canadian military 👍 really hits home for me
I love watching old videos like this, people reacted so differently to a camera back then, love the support from Jodi, you truly are an inspiration Devon!
Oh to be 22 again.
Literally you're my favorite UA-camr, so real and so much to learn from.. you a real one Devon! Good stuff 👍
Devin you have an amazing support system. Just the encouragement and support there from your wife what an amazing blessing you have. I’m just starting my journey in the sport and always view your content and appreciate what you have done. Hope to stand on the shoulders of giants such as yourself. Much love and appreciation for you. Grip n rip! ❤️💪
You sir are motivated.
A true inspiration man! And you’re wife cheering you on, is what’s behind every good man.
Mental strength is why you’re a champ buddy, it’s a grind and a push that no one can give you but you.
Not sure the road you’ve travelled but you’ve clearly known and disliked the other side.
I hope my sons grow up to be men that face the world the way you do.
It’s hard to believe that 2000 was almost 20 years ago! I’m feeling that myself! And here you are still at the top of your game. Wow.
I remember how futuristic the year 2000 was when it was coming specially new year party
The end was a nice touch with your sister overdubbing a workout , I laughed very hard, because this happened to me sooo many times in the 90’s

#TeamLarratt 💪👌
Behind every great man is a great woman. “Take it easy but push it!”. Great job
Only just seen this, incredible effort by you and support from Jody!! The big smile on your face at the end says it all.
True Iron Man. This was an awesome video to watch. So very impressive!! Much props to all participants!!
Jody is awesome, her accent really shows through here. And Devon you are an inspiration, everytime I watch you I wanna do better, I wanna work harder, and get stronger.
Thank you for being who you are. 🙏
Devon what a supportive and encouraging wife you have. And your a super great guy too. Love seeing winners do what they do best !!
Ahahahahahhaha! Your sister recording over your win! I can't xD
That's so 90s and so lovely at the same time.
This gives me a new level of understanding about what some of us can do, both mentally and physically. Very inspiring!
Now I know why Devon is so physically fit and where he had his great endurance. Thanks for sharing this inspiring memory. By now, I really want to do jogging every day. Thanks Larratt. Lovelots.
As a CAF vet myself watching this gave me so many emotions but mainly I felt proud for you !
Not sure what I'm more impressed by: the sheer determination of young Devon, the boundless encouragement from behind the camera, or the pure comedy timing of that finish line workout video tape-over 😂
This was back when Canada was proud!
Awesome vid !
The Guns, Thank God the Guns !
Had to throw that in their 🤙🏼. Cheers
It appears you've been a super in shape guy for many years Devon. All the respect in the world to you for your continued work ethic that earned you a championship performance that day and many other days after that. Shout out to all your brothers in arms that were able to complete that very grueling event also. That's big deal guys. Great job!
Awsome! I like that your sister took credit for the win in the end, epic VHS-issues!
Sister recording over the finish line lol - way to keep you grounded.
this video explains a lot why you are the champ you are Dev.These races are extraordinarily difficult, endurance-wise and such
You wife is the best ever and winning that iron man 💪 was incredible. I was going to say you are a lucky man to have done so much but I believe you have made your own luck through hard work and a great attitude that is really inspirational.
I backpack alot but have never considered running 30k with 40 lbs and a canoe.
No limits is a great motto 👍 which I will remember when the going gets tough.
Thank you
That was an awesome video to see.. and man how much Jodi loves you and is a wonderful supporter of you Devon. 👍 she was encouraging everyone throughout. Very cool to see you persist and prevail and to see Jodi supporting you like she does in arm wrestling or anything else. Way cool Devon and jodi.. now time to crush thor! 👍👊💪🎃 persistence prevails when all else fails! 👊
So that's where your endurance blossomed from, you and your wife are a inspiration. Your sis recording over the finish is just what I would expect from a sister lmao good stuff. Love the vid!
This is awesome Devon! Thank you for sharing this video, awesome to capture footage from inside races. I crewed at Ultraman Florida last weekend which is a 3 day, 320+ mile triathlon and it was an experience that I will never forget. I'd love to try this variety of Ironman! Cheers.
Man I lost my father 9 years ago. But you behave and act the same way he did. Funny as well as sensitive at the same time. I love watching your videos. And you have got such a perfect partner. You both are great.
"Jodi" in Hindi language means pair/partner/companion etc. And, Devon, you are very lucky to have such a supporting and loving Jodi in your life.
Shukirya Bhai for explaining
Lovely to see Indians enjoying the quality content on UA-cam instead of watching T series
Very impressive Mr. Larratt. Gave me the motivation to go run a mile or two lol. Good evening to you all from Outaouais, Quebec.
Damn brother! That was bad ass digging deep for that strength and 1st place win. I love it Jody tells the one lady towards the end, that's my man. Man goes from like 9 place and quite a few minutes behind, to first place and running away with the lead.
The 🐐, you inspire me to push my limits every day.. truly blessed to seen your videos, I will continue to push myself thanks Devon..
Devon your the man buddy. You are a special kind of person, with an amazing gift.
Keep doing what you do devon you're an inspiration.
Thank you so much for uploading this. It was very motivational to watch at a difficult time. You are a true bad ass and Jodi was great behind the camera. Can't wait for your next match.
Iron man 's hard af brother ... i did it myself with 5RALC Valcartier, Quebec in 2012... that was the run of my life💪🏻 Much respect, much love
Awesome! I was with the Guns in 2000 and was part of the Iron Man staff, “Hey who one this year?.. Some RCR guy”. Hahah. Great accomplishment!
Oh wow, so much respect for you and Mrs. Larratt!
Man, Jody is amazing. Having support like that from your wife is so great.
This was awesome. Well done Devon. Ironwill 💪🏻
Awesome. I used to love these type of events when I was in the military.
You can see where Devon endurance mentality comes from that he carries over to the arm wrestling table. So much is mentally breaking down as well as physically, and clearly he has set himself 'no limits'. You can tell much of his success has been driven from such a supportive wife as well, quite the formidable team.
This is incredible, cant imagine how hard this would be, wow, much respect.
Just when I thought you were a beast you release this
Thank you sir for your service from a US veteran from Texas.
i had a really sad day today and this cheered me up, Thank You Devon!

The mentality of a super human, no wonder you're one of the best arm wrestlers to ever live. 💪
Thank you for your service, Devon!
Much respect, my grandfather was in the RCR from 1942 until he was wounded in August of 1944. Cool to see some minutia that the regiment did and still does to build Esprit de corp.
Cool seeing some of your military service. From America, thank you for your service🇺🇸🇨🇦

You're a machine, but then it takes alot of heart too.
A combat model, maximum self sufficiency. GenX represent.
That Ending was epic complete with the workout video over your finish lol just as I was trying to see your face and get a look at the younger you lol
That woman should be a motivational speaker! xD I bet she helped a lot. Great job Devon, amazing achievement!

Fucking hell, knowing your whole journey you inspire a lot of people. This made me emotional watching you grinding since forever. You sir are a legend!
You REALLY live in a fabulous place.......one day, i will visit this country.......
very cool throwback Devon. Canadian here and big fan buddy
Jodi you are a beautiful soul. Devon you are an inspiration!
Mad respect to anyone who is a long-time marathon runner . You people are either extremely tough or extremely crazy. lol I don't know too many other sports that just literally beat your body down the way marathon training does, yet I know people who do it until they're in their middle age years of until their joints just won't hold up to do it any more. I guess I'm a weakling but I'll stick to fitness activities that don't make me literally feel like my feet are going to fall off of my body. :P
Well that was bloody brilliant - thanks for sharing
