Going from the old rig rundown to this is like night and day. The old rig was fun to watch because of all the gear, but without a doubt, this new setup is way cleaner and more efficient.
@@mikelaurrekoetxeapenades6656 you think so ? there are 10 times more metal bands going to Barcelona than there are going to Bordeaux. no bands come here. if they don't skip france in its entirety, they prefer to do 12 dates in paris, to go to rennes, nantes, lyon, toulouse, marseille, whatever fucking city, instead of going to bordeaux. they even prefer to go to biarritz lmao
not sure if they're gonna respond here, but maybe someone else also knows it: how do you set up two laptops to seamlessly switch if one breaks? and how do you set up an ableton project to contain a show with many songs? i've been trying to do it and it's a real pain if you ever want to change the slightest thing. is there a secret way to do it that i'm not aware of? also, no words on how the lights are programmed, that would have been good to know :(
I saw Jon have a wireless pack fail in Adelaide and was genuinely impressed how quickly they got it on the redundant lead. Now I know how they did it. Cheers boys 🤔
Yes yes and yes. Finally get to see a full rig rundown from these guys. Superb setup and I Iove this band to death. And also, finally get to see Jon's setup! But mad props to the guitar tech, I'm pretty sure it's super tiring to setup all of those guitars for every show.
Josh and jon I would like to tell you 1st how happy I am to see you guys again coming to fl. My daughter ( she's 10) is coming with me this time. So so happy! I didn't get a chance to meet Marcus last time during vip so hopefully I can say hi this time. Otherwise you 2 are in my top 10 favorite Guitarist. Thank you and have a good day. Eric
I came here really wondering if josh was still using the absolute insane analog setup with the Kemper that he was using a few years back… so many cables it looked like he was building a time machine… and outputs to TWO different cabs mixed together simultaneously. It seemed a bit silly to use a modeler like a Kemper and STILL have to use enough analog cables to send a guitar to Saturn. Absolutely bonkers tone during Singularity though
I remember in a rig rundown for the Chili Peppers of all bands Flea’s tech mentions he changes the strings every single day and it’s still the most insane thing I’ve heard to this day especially considering how many basses that dude has
I can understand having a Back Up Guitar for if you break a string or a for a different Tuning but honestly why do you need that many guitar changes per set? You can't expect me to believe each guitar is in a different set up/Tuning. That's ridiculous.
I once teched for a band that played 5 different guitar tunings in a 45min set. Only once playing two songs with the same tuning in a row. Yes it was ridiculous and I think they adjusted their set since. Smaller band and I have no clue how they did it before I teched for them.

XD

Josh having 7237772 guitars and Jon just showing 1 and giving a fuck. Just a true badass man
And drinking tea totally unbothered. Love that guy
That one is so much cooler than all Joshes trunks
@@TheShmrsh 7 string Teles are gorgeous
He actually had 2 extra guitars in his rack: the Jazzmaster and his old tele sig. Not sure why he didn't show those.
Josh consistetly gives out a vibe like he's high at all times, but high performing
Sleepiest triathlete superstar musician in history
Thank you for doing this guys, this was a really enjoyable and informative watch

As new Northlane fan since Obsidian's release, each time Jon mentions "new Northlane stuff", I get chills. Please come in Strasbourg, France.
Need them in Bordeaux as well !

Pretty sick they did a bass rig rundown as well 👌
they don't have a bassist]
edit: im stupid
@@someguy7448 bro thinks this is periphery
They might do a bass rundown if their bassists would stop quitting “because music isn’t for them” and then immediately joining a different band lol

Finally a rig rundown from Jon.. been waiting for yearsssssss

The content we needed guys! Thanks!
Love Joshy’s guitars
Thanks for the video
Cool stuff! Hope to see you in Nashville some day!
LETSSS GOOO FINALLY
2:41 we all felt that
That Fortin gate is my favorite as well.
See you guys in February cannot fuckin wait
❤❤❤❤❤❤
How can you have 2 exact same guitars sound different? I didn't know that was a thing. Thanks for the tour guys
They don't, people listen with their eyes.

Awesome video boys, any chance we could get the QC presets shared, cheers 🇦🇺❤️
They obviously learned from the FIR nightmare this past summer, because they have TWO laptops!
I mean they keep them together. FIR’s laptops were stolen. I assume in that situation they would still both be gone.
@@Return2TheLiving lmao someone tried to teach Ronnie
This was awesome to watch guys much love northlane
Can't wait to see Nic's!
Go see them live if you can, incredible and always a good time
Thanks very much for this! Would have loved to hear about your wireless guitar/monitoring setup though (maybe that's next instalment?)
When are we going to get those presets on the cloud though!
When will Jon’s guitar be available to buy?!?! I need it
Dude you have. An amazing taste in guitars!

Anyone have any more information on that mini box that controls the DAW software with the buttons that skips to the next song ect?
I wanna know too! :D Asked Nic about it. He doesn't even know what it's called.
I finally found it. It's called USB GO BOX by That Little Box! :)

Get Petrol an Evertune endorsement but it's just a shitload of the tuning keys.
Was really hoping to see the custom Jag style guitar though 😭
LOL Petrol is hilarious!
Hey guys. Would you guys Please!! Play the song. PLENTY on your Upscoming U.S tour?? @Northlane
What is the touchpad jon uses at the shows called?
Josh bringing that Andy energy from The Office haha.

The way he customise the volume and tone knob is weird... Does Josh used to play prs or something?🤔

They restring all guitars for every show??
They change strings every day!?
Anyone know what that Dual USB midi box is?

Restring every SHOW?! That's pretty intense.

That shit is crazy but I guess it keeps them with a clean sound every night
that's why you literally hire a tech to handle that.

Bass?
Except the "D# tuning" mention, nothing about tunings or even string gauge.
Curious to know if the amp models they're playing through on the QC are the built-in ones or profiles they've made from what they used on the records!
They'd be profiles more than likely
They have Had a kemper pack for Alien. There you Can See what they Play, at least on their newer Songs.
Also curious what amps they are profiling specifically for obsidian and the cabinets impulses
They play the built-in amp models, you can see when they show the QC in this video. No captures/profiles. (Looking at the icons on the screen)
what are they amps are they simulating may have been a more proper question
29.5 inch scale.
My hand hurts just thinking about it - lol
Wait, did he say he changes strings on 9 guitars every day??
Where marcus funny-edit
Bouncing Jon in 5:45 has to suffice for now :D
