Long ago in the early days of 'Angry Dad Gaming' (back when they had less than 20 subscribers...😝), Destiny 2 was THE game. It was the game that the Dads played 4-5 times a week, and thusly occupied much of their gaming time. And to say they became experts at it...would be overstating it...but they got VERY GOOD.
And thennn the sub-par content drops came, each one costing $30+ dollars with it, and soon Destiny 2 fell out of the Dads' favor.
Fast-forward FOUR years, and our Dads are back to see if this game is finally worth playing again. But what the hell happened to this game in the past four years? It has become something our veteran players are wildly unfamiliar with...but will that stop them from still kicking ass? 😎

I love how they give you an achievement for logging in! Reminds me of a participation award in school😂 I haven't played this game since launch. The multi-player looks alright.
The multiplayer is about what you can expect - it _can_ be fun, but oftentimes you’re just getting destroyed by random toxic people. 😂

Hahah, it’s my pleasure! The games have definitely lost a bit of their magic over recent years.
I adore this game & the Raids, but I haven't been able to get the boys online at the same time in nearly 8 years (may be correlated to the birth of our son), and very often that's my fault. My plan -- get the boy to 18, kick him out for school or work then have my retirement be a 30 year LAN Party. The boy can have the house, just leave me the Annex with full internet & a sofa / fridge.

I never messed around with the Raids too much myself. For one, I’m not NEARLY _that_ good at the game, but the main reason is that I never had that many hours free to even ATTEMPT it. 😅
You need to be good for a month, bring in a solid bonus, keep the house immaculate, put the kids to bed every night, surrender all choice of movie rights and cook a five course meal every evening to MAYBE have enough credits with your wife to trade in for enough consecutive game time to do a raid. Once I got all my loot, the standard of service dropped right down until the next DLC :D@@AngryDadGaming
Started this game when it first came out and as a lot do it froze (glitch) never gone back to it only played ten minutes off it yet its the second biggest online game

Hehe, thanks BHC! Yea, it’s come a long way since Day 1, and it even feels like a whole new game since _I_ had last played it, which was ‘only’ four years ago. I feel utterly clueless in there now, and I used to be fairly knowledgeable. 😅
I can't imagine trying to get back into this after several years. I try after falling off for a few months and feel overwhelmed 🤣 Looks like it went well for the most part though!

I believe it’s…well, I can’t say it’s free-to-play. Honestly, I have no clue how it works anymore. You can ‘play for free’, but so much of the content is behind paywalls that I’m not sure what is even available to free players.

Destiny 2 has to be the one of best looter shooters out there. The gameplay is so addictive. Your character looks cool. You are very good at using any kinds of guns. Do you have any favorite gun though? I see you use that revolver a lot……

I enjoyed the first one too! Some brutally difficult moments at times, though the co-op gameplay is also some of the most fun!

I also came back after not playing game since release of Forsaken and I got to say that I’ve been really enjoying the game from all the things I can do in the game. Granted I did buy lighfall and I got the other 3 DLC for free so I’m not complaining.
Yea, their DLC packages are confusing to me still. I bought Lightfall as well, but I’m not sure what it all actually holds. 😅
Wow its been 4 years? I played Destiny 1 and it felt like that wasn't that long ago, time flies.
Well, it’s been four years since I _last played._ If _Destiny 1_ was the last time you played, that was likely pre-2017. Time really does fly!
Man it's been a while since I played Destiny 2, but the problem was mostly things you have to do, is with friends, and since unfortunately, I don't have friends to play online so I'm usually a lone wolf
Yea, a lot of the stuff is tough to do on your own. They have apps now to make finding a team easier, but I personally rather solo than be paired with some randoms. 😅
That smoking head really does look like Tool cover.. I'm more of The Perfect Circle kinda guy tho.. never really got into Tool.. maybe someday (when I'll be even more depressed 😅)
Also never played this. Looks fun, tho everything new like this just blends together for me.. don't know why, maybe because I haven't really played anything 'new' after witcher 3 lol.
Btw off topic - don't know if you own Switch, but that new Mario game appears to be Awesome.. possibly could bring them more views. 😉👍

I love A Perfect Circle as well! It’s funny though, I find their music almost _more_ depressing than Tool (‘The Noose’ and ‘Gravity’ come to mind…).
Yea, this game is…boy, it’s tough to really put it into words. 🤔 It’s nothing like it was when I REALLY loved it. I’d say it’s still worth trying, but I suspect it has gotten REALLY complicated for newer players. The combat in it feels REALLY GOOD though!
I DO own a Switch, but haven’t tried that new Mario game yet! I’ve seen it on some channels, and it looks fun!

And yes, SMB Wonder is truly great! They say it's the best sidescrolling Mario game since SNES era. I personally been watching grumps playthrough of it.. and it's just a lot of fun.

Yea, it’s sort of like a FPS-MMO, if that makes sense. The story is pretty nonsensical, but the combat feels great and the pvp _can_ be fun at times…when it’s not brutally frustrating. 😅
I haven't played Destiny since before the original one got the light points (or whatever they're called). And, man, does Destiny 2 look like no improvements have been made. I'm sure there's something somewhere that's different, but not at a glance, haha!
I loved _Destiny 1,_ and _Destiny 2_ was great for a bit, but eventually it seemed like they were gearing all they’re content towards their hardcore players, and it became impossible for us casuals who only played a couple hours a week to acquire the equipment necessary to complete the more difficult content.

@@AngryDadGaming it also starts health regen after a kill. I also suck using hand cannons in PvP so it's my goto as it's really a pulse cannon lol. Also loved the video glad to see some OG guardians return from a long hiatus.

I considered trying Destiny 2 a bit before it came out, but never did. I kind of wish I did, yet I'm kind of glad I didn't 🤔 I've heard of Tool and have seen Tool album covers, but I have yet to listen to them. I probably should at least give them a try...unlike Destiny 2 😜 In all seriousness, the game does look awesome. I love the hover bikes and flying droids (I intentionally butchered the names there.) Let's just say that round you lost never happened, and there was only the first one.
Hahah, well if you could only try one thing between _Tool_ and _Destiny 2,_ I’d say go with _Tool._ 😅
The game actually plays pretty fun still, but I imagine the learning curve is pretty steep.

Heheh, but as far as shooters go, this one is probably more fun when played with friends. The combat is pretty fun, but the grind is about the most grueling out of any game I’ve played (that is, if you care to _really_ gear up).
The Traveler is…do you really care, Marc? I’ll put it this way - he’s a mysterious white ball in low orbit, and it’s been almost TEN goddamn years, and STILL NO ONE KNOWS WHAT HE’S ALL ABOUT.
