NEMOPHILA broke out their secret weapon. HARA-chan was lead composure on this and she put the rhythm section front and center. Bass line comes in heavy as hell and drives up from there. She's also doing the harmonization vocals with MAYU. TAMU providing the sick percussion tracks just nailed it. NEMOPHILA is like a box of chocolates. Well done HARA 🏆 🌸✨🌠
Nice to someone that understands the 7 string and yes both Saki and Hazuki are in standard tune for a 7, low B at the top followed by E once you have played one its hard to see why you would go back to a 6 for heavy guitar work .Nemo are one superb bad very technical in there equipment they are not just playing there instruments they even do equipment demoes effect units, amp heads, midi systems etc for companies look up on YT .Dig in to there YT channel where you will find exhalant content .
Some indian, mostly arabic influence. Written by Haraguchi-san (bassist) as an "Aladdin" themed song, you may notice the use of some Egyptian scales in there. These girls slap and I can't wait for their world tour, they haven't announced anything yet, but they will be in Sacramento this year for the Aftershock festival so I'm sure more tour dates will be announced soon. 🤘😝🤘
Aaaaahhhh! Then that is not a teapot, it is a magical lamp! NOW it makes more sense. :-D Yes, on a second listen I guess it is indeed more Arabic, and that bass lick in the middle sounds very much like an Egyptian scale or something in that family. Love that kind of scale, now I have to learn it. :-D
Nemophila is a genus of flower, so Drosophila isn't a bad pronunciation guide! And in keeping with the biological theme, I believe the video was filmed at an aquarium, hence the whales were actually present in the background.
*Hypnosis* is the first metal song that I heard which is still heavy since it doesn't have guitar solos. Instead, the solos are done by the drummer playing the drums.
Thanks for the reaction. I like this haevy orient very much and I would like more songs in a similar style. But people prefer faster, sharper and more extreme. Bass six string and more ... Then listen to this bass (7 strings) in the Japanese band Asterism. You'll have both sola and taping. And that's how a seventeen-year-old plays. The guitar is typical (6), but the guitarist (17) is like a wukjan and the level of play is amazing. ASTERISM - DAWN ua-cam.com/video/EbHwp-TAKhY/v-deo.html
Second person who suggested Asterism! Will def check them out. Now, a 7-string bass demands either quite large hands or a lot of flexibility, I reckon. :-)
While they were working on this album they did a lot of covers. My favorite was Kiss Detroit Rock City. Nemophila is a type of flower of the plant family Boraginaceae.
I searched for "Jennies" and could not find them... Is that the band's name? I am curious, since I'd love to see how the Arabic influence would get incorporated into metal (if they in fact did do so).

Thanks for checking out Nemophila. You made some great points. As for lyrics... pro tip: turn on close captions if available 😁
It's a struggle... If I do that, it will distract me from the music and video production. But I'll try sometimes. :-D
the most exciting band right now ⚡🤟🏼⚡

Ha, that explains their logo, then! :-D Someone else mentioned the aquarium thing, that is quite crazy, but cool.
They now provide CC English subtitles to almost all of their original songs-videos.
Nemophila rocks!🌸🔥🤘🏻

They filmed this in an aquarium.
Really! That's cool!

Yeah, that's how I first found them: by listening to their great cover versions during the pandemic!
The Arabic female Jennies played Metal Music..... 🤘
