Hi, Anna. I am stunned by your spoken English skills. Have you been living in New Zealand for a long time? From what I can tell, your English speaking ability could easily achieve a Band 8 score in the IELTS test. I will start to pursue a postgraduate degree in New Zealand next month, from mainland China , and while my English level is C1, my spoken English is significantly subpar to yours . I believe you could receive an offer from an international school in China, where every subject is taught in English, because you can be viewed as a well-educated native english speaker in China.
The big difference is one island is ruled by gangs and it's grungy, depressing cities are ravaged on a nightly basis by young ""innocent "" ram raiders and the other island is by comparison relatively clean, peaceful and has little crime Hint : Adventure tourists are advised to head north. Watch your step when walking the streets however- you may mess up someone's bed
Hi, I contacted you earlier when you were doing living in Germany videos. I am now in NZ, would like to connect with you for some of my queries, thanks
Maoris preferred the North because it is warmer ... and most importantly, the staple food crop (kumara) grows less effectively the further south you go. So, much of South Island could not sustain large populations of Maoris. Maoris down south ate native plants such as puha, and fern roots as well as birds, dogs, and maori rats but I would guess that sea food would have been very important for Maoris down south.
Hi Anna I love your pronunciation of "Whangarei" was spot on.
Thank you 🙂🙂
This is a wonderful video- the most detailed explanation of the two islands that I’ve seen so far. It’s very helpful. Thanks!
