One thing i noted is that in Chapter 2 when Adam died, Johnny's surprise was dull and inhuman, while when Kenshi gets brutally blinded (not killed) Johnny cried to him in a more natural, horrified and also genuine way. That means, Johnny Cage IS a terrible actor.
To be fair.. There's a difference between getting brutally hurt in real life (ironic because it's a video game) and dying in a movie. Of course an actor has to be genuine to look realistic but still.
To be fair, a good director would push him to give a better reaction. It's pretty rare for actors get it right on the first go.

@@TrueTrickster2016That’s the point, Johnny couldn’t properly portray seeing his friend melt in mercury, he could only show real emotion in the real scenario his friend gets blinded. It’s a great detail that implies that Johnny is losing money because he’s not taking the job seriously anymore.
I think the reason why Goro wears more clothes is because since he is a soldier in this timeline, it is necessary for him to wear more military attire instead of being half naked.
Perhaps it's easier to identify him working with Shao with the military outfit. Still sucks though XD

Funniest thing for me is Johnny Cage's "You bitch" line. Not because of the reference, no. But because if you turn on the subtitles then it will specifically say that Johnny says it to Tanya for no discernable reason.
I imagine it's because she's the only conscious woman in the room, which somehow makes the awkward pause more appropriate since it means Kung Lao probably thought Johnny was just being a misogynist out of nowhere.

If the latter, then it's someone who hates women; the coordinate term is misandrist for someone who hates men.
If the former, then it's because Johnny is clearly referencing Ripley from the end of _Aliens_ (1979), but Kung Lao clearly hasn't watched that movie since I imagine most Kombatants outside of Johnny and the Special Forces characters don't really care about movies outside of maybe Black Dragon characters--we know Tremor doess/did--and Stryker. Kung Lao's mistake only gets funnier since the originator of the line is ironically a woman (talking to a large technically female alien).
If you knew one of both those things already, then apologies for the redundancy. Monosyllabic questions can be...vague.

My in canon universe reason for why Goro is shorter is when
Liu Kang was remaking the timeline, he saw a small glimpse of Mortal Kombat Warner Brothers Universe. Then he saw your tier list on Scorpion’s revenge and battle of the realms and thought
“Oh s-t, Goro is busted!!!!!”
And was scared that if Goro were to somehow go back to the ways of his original timeline, then Goro would have bodied everyone. But in doing so, some unfortunate sacrifices were made, some very *CRITICAL* mistakes

@@dylansharp8471 Because Goro’s issues aren’t as bad in comparison to Shao. Dude went from being the big bad of the series to just a minion for Shang Tsung and Quan Chi. While I do prefer Shang Tsung character and moveset wise, I also like and respect Shao as the series big bad, and was disappointed by him in MK1. It doesn’t help that he was given horns that look terrible on half his other costumes, especially the Union of Light costume.
@PizzaMan879 speaking of Shao, did you ever stop to wonder why the Shao from Shang Tsung's timeline looks like the new one rather than the old one? Was it laziness or they just missed it in the final product.

The ability to pick Shang Tsung as the hero who saves the day and having Liu Kang thank him proves that he was right: Shang Tsung CAN be redeemed.
(And the Shang Tsung that helps out before dying but he doesn't get mentioned.)

It always surprised me the fact that Mileena struck her sais deep into Kenshi's eyes, perfectly getting to the brain, and yet he didn't die.
The fact that the Sento conspiracy lasted nearly 33% of this video, is very telling of how SonicHaXD's mind is deteriorating by NetherRealm's quality storymode.

We had a scene in Forest with blinded Kenshi (which many people predicted that Mileena will be the cause of it) and I at least assumed Mileena went full Tarkat
and then we had the Parade scene when we saw normal Mileena with blinded Kenshi
Back then we didn't know that she could control his disease with injections

Gotta say, I like how they’re crafting the EarthRealmer dynamics in this game. Kung Lao, Raiden, Kenshi, and Johnny all have great chemistry with each other (even if they’re constantly shit-talking each other in the beginning).

also another fun fact, since you made that little jurassic world reference, in the latin american dub both kenshi and owen are voiced by the same voice actor, that voice actor voices crhis pratt in most of his movies

I think Kenshi is talking to himself here
Mileena's split lower jaw could be a result of the Tarkat disease being constantly suppressed. Like, by letting it manifest and then suppressing it again, it could have caused irregularities that other Tarkat sufferers don't have.
Also, I'd assume they left Baraka behind so they didn't have to address him witnessing a potential cure to his disease. Otherwise, they'd have to ignore it (leaving it for SonicHaXd and the4thsnake to tear apart) or include dialogue and reasoning as to why they don't attempt to treat Baraka.
I mean, it stands to reason that his affliction is too far gone for Mileena's treatment to have the same effect it does on her, but Baraka would have definitely tried to get his hands on it. If not for himself, to try and help the others.

I mean, I get Baraka going with them into Shang's Lab makes sense outside the story since he's BARAKA. But from their perspective...I mean he explained himself. He was just a regular guy before Tarkat. He can clearly fight off some soldiers, but that seems to just be because of him having to survive in this place. Meanwhile Johnny, Kenshi, and Lao were picked up by Earthrealm's god and trained with his monks for months. Far as the story goes anyway, they're a focused team. So why throw unknown factors into the mix unless necessary? They met him MINUTES ago. Baraka's a victim here, he admits that Tarkat is dangerous so who knows if the Earthrealmers could get it by hanging around, and he's never been in the lab himself.
Same time, I can see people saying that Baraka ends up going with them anyway and they end up teaming up with a literal Demon after this. I get that.
It's revealed in the intro dialogue that Baraka was a high ranking soldier in Outworld (I mention this in the next episode). Accidentally afflicting the Earthreamers with Tarkat seems like a pretty good reason to not go though XD
@@SonicHaXD How did that disprove the point being made? I saw the next episode just to make sure. Yes, in intros Baraka's established as a high ranking soldier. But that's not established in Chapter 4 where they first meet him and all Baraka says is that he was a "merchant". Like the characters in the story don't see intro dialogues. So all they knew was that this guy traded items for a living. It's easy for the characters to imagine he would only get in the way if they had no idea he was a soldier.
I reacted the same way with Kenshi being blinded lmfao.
BTW Goro rant- totally valid. I didn't realize that was Goro this whole time.
I only knew of MK1 from the perspective of someone who plays Fighting Games, but I like channels like this one that show us all the nuances behind MK1. When broken down like this, NRS did a pretty good job adding all these cool details.

You're right about Kenshi being people's favorite I liked him ever since deadly alliance cuz I thought it was so cool that ermac train them on how to use telekinesis and for Neitherealm to finally give him purpose that's cool.
I'll say, M1K, for the infinite number of things that it got wrong, made me love Kenshi as a character.
Goro isn't small, just malnourished.
Best guess as to why Kung Lao was allowed to bring his hat was because at the time the outworlders likely viewed it as some weird Earth realm fashion trend

If that were true, no character should act differently from their previous versions, plus this point of yours raises some questions about why does Liu Kang even bother then, as well as some other questions about the concept of free will in this new timeline, and the game doesn't seem to realise any implications or answers for these questions. The fact that Liu Kang coukd also turn characters like Mikerna, Tanys and (by NRS' logic) Sindel good shows inconsistency and dare I say bias on the writers' behalf.

You know, i have an idea for a Goro story. Maybe he somehow learns of his original timeline wins, gets an enormous ego boost, and decides to go fight Lu Kang (aka god), even though he knows he almost certainly will will lose, all because he wants to be like his midway counterpart.
I think there is a reason why Lin Kuei weren't sent on a stealth mission in outworld. Correct me if I misremembered, but they did not enter the portal with Liu Kang (even though they probably could have while dressed as monks, but idk how much they'd fit in). So if he wanted to send them on a mission, he'd have to open the portal again, which could be seen by anyone, therefore drawing more suspicion on earthrealm. Sending others on a mission was basically be the only thing Liu Kang could have done without drawing too much attention.

In defense of baraka not going into the laboratory, during I.I.D with baraka and scorpion, baraka says tarkat can be transferred through combat.
