Trustin, I thank you for your videos and the message behind them. I have already been sharing them with my family and friends on Facebook. The way you look at a piece of wood and see what can be in the middle inspires me. I retired from the fire service 6 years ago with severe PTSD from an accumulation of career ending calls but one in particular that pushed me over the edge. I have always been an overcomer but with PTSD sometimes getting out of bed became a challenge. I forced myself to do so. My wife and I sold our ranch, bought raw land, lived in a wall tent for almost 3 years in North East Washington state while building a small cabin. Although I have power tools I have been purchasing antique tools refurbishing them and using them to build a new ranch to raise cattle and horses. Inspiration to simply and use what I have is huge for me. Channels such as yours has been key to my survival, I mean that literally. I appreciate your message more than you will ever know. Thank you!

Thanks so much. Comments like that keep these videos coming. Something about these classic metal and wood tools can heal the soul. Glad to see you figured it out as well. Sounds like you are one heck of adventure yourself. All the best.

Blake Campbell There is certainly something I get out of watching these and I also have complex PTSD from my time spent in law enforcement. I found it really interesting that you have also found yourself here. I wish you all the best. x

Emm Bee, a lot of my best friends are law enforcement. This simpler life yet still having purpose seems to help me. I'm no longer running into burning buildings or trying to save someone's life on a regular basis since I retired. I've had to do both since. My neighbors house caught on fire and I was the first person on scene with ems skills to a head on collision of a logging truck versus pick up truck. Yah it sure triggered me for a while but I think Our great spirit has a purpose for us. I continue to shoe and train horses and work with wood. These help so much. Sending you blessings my friend and wishing you well. I like Trustin's spirit. It shows in the product of his heart and his hands.

Blake Campbell Exactly what you are doing is what I dream of .... I rode horses for a couple of decades and it's something I really miss. It's nice to have met a fellow ems worker even though you are probably far far away from me in Australia. All the best.

Yes, I am a long way away from Australia but I have always wanted to see Australia. Maybe I'll get that chance someday in the near future.

What a stellar opportunity to observe the Master Plan for this property in action . Wonderful story and video production. Just to observe the generations of family and friends working together to make the earth around their tree farm be enriched as a precious gift to the future in this area is awesome, but hearing the story live is a blessing! Thanks to Stan, Cody and Issac. I'll be watching along... great job!

Yeah, It's really fun having three generations all pulling on the same rope trying to get one tree to fall. We all learn from each other.

Very cool. My great grandmother had a 120 acre tree farm that is now overgrown and the pine boring beetle is now hitting it pretty hard. I'm planning on doing something similar soon. I like building rustic timber framing myself.

I wonder if you could get the butt end to drop onto a lid of a 30 gal garbage can or the hood of a small car. It would make it easier to skid out the butt end.
Forrest conservation (maintenance) is essential. Some need this point explained. Thanks for your explanation. I had a neighbor who refused to cut down a volunteer near his shed. I watched over many years as it grew, crushed, and destroyed the side of his shed. !! Just one example.

Where is this place in Ontario?

  • @mademoisellekaya1438

Trustin, I believe that you should contact Joe Robinet. He's an Bushcrafter, known from 'Alone' the first series. He also is originated from Ontario, has studied in plants and wooden species (don't know how that studie is called in English) and wants badly to return to his home base and I believe the both of you can help each other out. I feel it's just the time you both cross paths for some reason..

I'm 68 years young. living in southern Ontario all my life. always wanted to have a few acres of bush to build a house and retire. carpenter of 35 years, widowed at 27 years, raising a 1 year old son took away all my dreams and aspirations.. now i can only dream.

I mean I would do this also, Then a brisht Cop will walk up to me in America and ask me "DO YOU HAVE A LICENSE FOR THESES TREES" and start beating my ass for no reason.

get used to landslides and flooding there will be little tree and root protection at the rate people like to chop chop but not replacing them shameful we deserve what we get
