Im still using chipped obd1 ecu's with a snake emu emulator and tuning with HTS. It is still cheaper and easier than most standalones but finding usable obd1 ecu's isnt easy like it once was. Link makes a plug and play standalone ecu board though that just installs into your original ecu case for older honda's like obd1 and obd2 im thinking that is probably the best/easiest option.
Alright bud.. here’s an odd one. 2000 Tacoma 5VZ 4WD. There’s a company making bellhousing adapter for it to go K series. I’m a veteran Honda tech by trade, think it’s a fun sounding project especially since it retains 4WD. What you think for management? I’m thinking mid level ish all motor build.. 11.5:1, maybe 300whp. Kpro? Pull the dash and rewrite the whole thing to Honda dash harness? I’m all ears bro.
@MikeKoltowski i guess that comes down to how comfortable you are with wiring. I personally hate dealing with electronics so I would personally go with the easiest standalone option I could find 😁
What fuel pump and injectors upgrade should i get for my b series? Is walbro fuel pump and rc injectors outdated? I got rebuilt b20b with high comp ycp pistons.. im about 11.1 c/r Edit: my plan is to buy a p8r head and get it port and polish... Crower 404... Then I'll get it tuned
all of this would be the same as usual. no supply and demand issues here except your search for the p8r head which i believe will more likely be a power band change over a raw power upgrade.
when doing a k20 turbo build is running the oil return line have pressure in it or is it like a drain where is just gravity fed back into the oil pan. Or is there some pressure in that oil return line. asking due to the length and how its sitting on my subframe next to the firewall to stay clear of the turbo exhaust. im trying to feed it back into the timming cover. 1990 crx. thanks bro.
I dont believe it's "pressurized" by the turbo but would say most likely some air flow. As long as you aren't going vertical with the return you shouldn't have an issue
A lot of small not so hard shit. Technically it can run as it sits but it's a good deal away from being road worthy. If I had a garage and some extra cash comin in I could have it done in a month
Do you have a patreon or cash app…I’d like to ask you questions …to help my build move along faster. I’m willing to pay for your time. Message me or something need to start ordering parts and you got a a lot of info. I’m from the Mitsubishi game ..I’m new but I just bought a k24. Lmk
For my f18a3 with f20b dohc vtec head I buy and use megasquirt 3 with 24-2 toothed wheel inside distributor.
Working perfect.

Healthy old ecu's are a lot fewer and further between

Can fully built k series all motors head/block be daily driven as going to work and back n forth?
Anything can be daily driven. Just depends on how much comfort you're looking for and how aggressive the build is
