    More About "HOLLOW":
    Hollow takes place 8,000 years after a nuclear apocalypse leaves the sky permanently covered in fallout. The earth, hollowed out for geothermal energy, has one last chance in a new form of power, but there are other parties who want to use the source for their own purposes. One such party is The Broker, who has hired a thief to infiltrate a secure facility and steal the power core. The thief is kept in the dark as to what he’s actually stealing, but once he figures it out, he goes rogue. The fate of the world is now in the balance, as two criminals fight to capitalize on it.

    Good short story. This did something that a lot of other "shorts" either can't or don't. That is, tell the entire arch of a story from start to finish in under 10-minutes without being a blatent fishing trip for something larger which, in contrast, come across as little more than polished movie trailers -- or adverstisements. Thanks for the sample of honest story telling you gave with this video!

    A wonderful exploit of visual experimental concepts applied to futurism themes... Kudos to Jackson Roberts and team on this Dust Premiere... Thank you for this! And although the storyline has bits of over reach on parts of it's scientific & technological points, and the hypothetical timeline, it once once again reminds us to appreciate the world we have today.

    Great setup for something more to find out what really happened when the power module detonated. Sounds similar devices in the STARGATE Universe - ZPM Zero Point Modules created by Ancients who left Earth eons ago. But the effect was very different - sort of like a variation of the GENESIS Device STAR TREK: THE WRATH OF KHAN - cleansing the atmosphere and restarting life on the surface.
    As for the setup - Geothermal wasnt the only energy source - lots of underground oil, gas, coal and uranium for nuclear. Atmosphere was already a death shroud - a little more CO2 wouldnt have mattered after The Great Burn 8,000 years earlier... . But thats a minor point.

    Nothing better than watching humanity's reset button getting hit. And then seeing the truth that humanity never changes in the face of full on civilization collapse. It shows how truly pointless all our global fears are. Global warming, over population, globalism, etc. They're all hysterically pointless concerns when the millions of years Earth has been and will be around is considered.
    And all conveyed in this short film. Awesome.

    Captivating. Good script and acting. My only critique is the massive time jump verses the lack of technology. Even if a nuclear apocalypse reset us to the stone age, it wouldn't take 10k years to reach advanced tech again. We have to account for some library of information that survived the catastrophe which would then give humanity a head start on rebuilding.

    • @JacksonRoberts
      @JacksonRoberts 2 роки тому +1

      You’re totally right about this, although I imagined the apocalypse happened in the present day, then it took them this long to reach present day tech and far surpass it, while also hollowing out the planet.
