Hey xx Thank You soooo much for this video. I was born and raised in Croydon but I became agoraphobic around 2006 and I've not seen Croydon since then. I have to say that there are lots of changes, everything is sooo different!
Can you do holland rotterdam to?
Thanks so much for subtitling the streetnames and special Shops/Buildings. In many of your other vids I have missed something like that, I wondered often what kind of building it is without going to ask auntie Google. If the most people don't like it, maybe it possible to use the subtitle feature of youtube, so the people could turn it on if they want them.
Thanks Ray. I have recently started adding those details to the subtitle/cc of a few recent videos, and plan to add to more when I can. And many of my videos have those details in the description :)
Watched Walker sorry mate I’m in this video and you don’t have my permission please remove this video or I will be forced to report you to UA-cam...disgraceful behaviour
I'm just trying to spot myself lol
II didnt know croydon was london...
So was i
Eamon Costanza ofc course you didn’t. Who wouldn’t know Croydon is London 😂 Croydon is in south London
Same lmfao
Oml same loll
I was born in Croydon and left when I was 35. I now live in Perth Western Australia. I loved watching this video. Brought back so many memories. 2 Nandos - wow I didn’t know that! Has changed a lot since I was back to visit in 2017. Thanks for sharing! 🤗
do you prefer London or Perth. I've lived in Perth my whole life but I was actually born in London and have dreamed of living there since I was 8, why'd you move and what do you think of perth
Cameron steve Hi - London is lovely as as Tourist and holidays to visit with friends and family. But to live and work in London is hard. Weather is a big factor too.
I don’t work in Perth and have 2 boys now so our lifestyle is soo good and the weather plays a big part. Perth is definitely a land of opportunity With a Medical condition I get a lot of support which I don’t think I would in the UK. Thanks for your question 🤗
Good for you, and I mean that genuinely.
You escaped the place and to somewhere far better too.
That's my dream.
Well that is a 'chalk n cheese' moment! Give me Perth over Croydon any day
Come back home mate
Madness going through UA-cam and find this I'm a Croydon boy good to see the roads on UA-cam
lived in west croydon for 7 years, brings back memories. thank you so much.
*sees this video on my recommended*
Me: Oh no! UA-cam knows where I live!!
kasumikat They do now
How do they know where I live?
XD, so true, trynna find myself going to the tram stop to New addington b4 XD
I feel sorry for you
Excellent this reminded me of my life spent in London i use to visit Croydon shopping centre and its suburbs frequently lovely memories
It's gonna be so cool looking back at this in 50 years.
we don't get to go this year. so thanks for letting me watch and walk around London!
Who here is from Croydon or have lived there long enough to tell me what kind of neighborhood it is. Please give details.
I've live in the Croydon Borough in the neighbourhood of Elmers End. It was quite peaceful and the main town centre has quite alot of good shops and people. That's the most I can say for is though
It's a bit rough and weird but I still call it home. I get hit on by guys everytime I go into the central part
@@kasumikat can you tell me what's rough and what's weird.
Certain areas are good most are quite bad
I’ve lived in Croydon all my life. The southern part is more peaceful than the central part so areas such as sanderstand south Croydon purley forest dale and Selsdon are nicer. East croydon is decent aswell. However areas such as West Croydon and central Croydon and Thornton Heath tend to be more troublesome with high knife crime, but what I’ve noticed also is of you’re sensible and street smart you’re less likely to get into such trouble
Thanks for letting me discover one more place in Greater London that, if not for your videos, I would never get to know. I love this hidden London gems you show us. Hope to be able to visit many of those places next semester. Keep up the good work.
I'm Croydon born and raised. I recently moved to Indonesia (for a year) at the beginning of October and it's so nice to see Croydon how I left it! Thank you for doing a video like this, I really appreciate it. Can't wait to go through the winter market stalls when I'm back next October.
Yes Asha Gang Gang Yay
Croydon might have a bad name but only small percentage are the reason for it, nothing wrong with Croydon its home
Fantastic camera work and brought back many happy memories thanks for sharing
Super Video . With original Sound no awful music . Thnxx a lot Sir / Mam 👍👍 😊
Born and raised in South Croydon, haven't lived there for a long time but have visited and feel so sad that this is the town it's become...
Dave Hutton ....downhill I know
Care to explain
Tbh south Croydon is safe as hell its broad green, Thornton Heath, South Norwood, Selhurst, New addington. You really wanna d’avoisinant them places
One thing is for certain Watched Walker, your walks are certainly always watched by me, with haste!
I live in croydon .
I am away .your video made roam where I live and am used to. Thank.
FELT THE EMOTION HOW ONE FEELS WHEN NOT WHERE I AM
I like Croydon here in London & yes it has changed over the years. Thanks for sharing this wonderful walk, mate! 😀👍💂♂️🇬🇧
lived in east croydon from 2008-2012 :) very nostalgic 😊 feeling
SO SMOOTH LONDON WALKING!! THANKS!!!
Dear "Watched Walker" thank you very much .
Thank you for sharing:) I always support your channel!
Good to see you here Seoulwalk!
Its so beauty thanks for your loyality
I didn't realise Croydon was such a bustling exciting area, its reputation precedes it I am afraid
At 8:24 the door way on the right is where I used to sleep when I was homeless.
A lot of people still do
I was looking for the regular homeless that sit there as I watched this video. I'm glad you're not homeless anymore. It's not a life. I've been there as well
*_Great footage and this first-person view perfectly shows a city walk. A subscription for you for the high quality of the video and the entire production. Regards :)_*
Thank you very much! 🙏
“Drop the rope, there is no posh part in croydon” 🤣🤣
Great movie, great quote.
I was born in croydon so its nice to see someone actualy make a vid about it
i was here in 1999 as a child and attended the Croydon Public School for 6 months before i returned back home. Wonderful to revisit and see how it has grown. Good luck to the residents of Croydon.
Just came across yr video, well done. Born in mayday, joined the military at 16, shook a mean hoof in Cinatras a few times, happy days
I love Croydon been there many times for a night out.
Never had a issue and always felt safe. People say it's rough though!
It's amazing to see such a tram in London.
i used to walk this route all the time to college, its changed alot now. lots of shops are closing down and those empty unused bits of land suddenly have huge apartment blocks being built
28:56 used to walk this route all the tme for college, theres a lovely jamaican restaurant that sells the best home made foods like rice and patties. i would do ANYTHING to be back in croydon right now and just smell that food, im in west yorkshire for work and i miss my home
Cool to see this area of London. Never gotten down that far. Looks like there's still a lot going on. Love the pedestrian area market. Thanks for taking me to a new area of London. -Henry
Thanks Henry! I'm looking forward to catching up on your excellent videos, I see you've posted a London one today - I can't wait to watch that! :)
Happy to see you here Henry
Thanks a lot for this footage!
Thanks for posting, very clear HD film. It reminded me of how miserable I use to be walking those streets when I lived there years ago. I now live in the West country, by the sea, I don't miss Croydon @ all.
Been watching The Met: policing London, it makes me think twice about visiting croydon. So thanks for the tour you saved me the trouble.
I was in the shot!
when, bro?
Used to go clubbing in Croydon 20yrs ago... Feels like yesterday. Time has flown too quick! It looks busier now. Good memories and sadly some not. It's nostalgia that brings me here ☺️
all those places long since packed up and closed thou no where to go now at all
Nice walk, hope you are enjoying your week. Until next time!
I am in London now after watching it I visit Croydon Town central inc. market
great walk!
Great walk indeed!
Love the trams!!
Me too!
Great Walk!!
Loved the video. I've lived in Croydon for about 12 years. I love it's vibrancy, diversity and quirkyness! With all large towns, there is crime. I've always felt pretty safe as I keep aware of my surroundings. Some great and unusual people here and some fantastic street art! Worth a visit. Also we have a great Buddhist Centre (98 High Street, past the flyover) I'm biased of course
I was JUST there, like a month ago, visiting from Canada! ☺
Haven't been home in ages! I had no idea there was a nandos near East croydon station now!
I was born in mayday Hospital in Croydon Back In 1988. But I stick with Sutton and Wallington now places like that
Beautiful city london nice
Thanks WW for the video. We visited Croydon where our daughter has an apt. Your opening shot reminds our travel. We came to East Croydon from Victoria and took a tram to Wandle park. Marks and Spencer and the red buses looks familiar. The 4K quality is not quite reflected in the video. May be it was a cloudy day, an exception for you. Regards
Thanks Pagla, the resolution is the same as usual, not having good light makes a difference - which is to be expected, and why I prefer to film on sunny days (though it does make a change now and again to film in different lighting conditions).
Why does youtube know I live in Croydon ffs
down the memory lanes from 10 yrs back was at cr06qd -> Deltapoint \m/ --> Sandyland --> canning road
Excellent place , nice people
i love Croydon - had some good times there 🙂
Thank you for video am from Croydon community ✌️
Nice quality video.
Great, UA-cam knows where I live.. not creepy at all getting this in my recommended..
I was there in March, love this place!
I have a friend living in Luton and his friend lives in East Croydon where I stayed for several days. Like Luton, it is not as bad as some people say it is but there are still some places you will want to avoid at night. @ 7:17, I went in Game On and brought New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe and Mortal Kombat 11 for my Nintendo Switch. @13:00, I stopped by the Market Tavern a few times for drinks!
you probably found the only decent shop in croydon
basil&grape cocktail bar!
I am from croydon and I lived here 16 years of my life I'm 17

Very nice as usual 👍
I wonder if you have ever come across a "famous" person? And in that case did you notice at that moment, or afterwards, or others spotted them?
I've passed a few famous people, which I noticed at the time but casually walked past, as one should :)
I have stayed in East Croydon when I visited london for 2 weeks i like it i have nothing bad to say about it
That's right you stop before you get to my house.
WONDARFULL
Croydon has changed quite a bit since I left in 2003. Thanks so much for this vid. I would like to request a walk round South Croydon too, my old stomping ground.
I’m so glad I was in school at the time😂😅
I worked at Grants 62-64. Town was a genteel place. Now? Surrey Street market much the same. Stallholder beneath my office shouted “We got nanas! all day long. Trams ran North South, not East West.
Born and bred in Croydon, left 16 years ago, sad to see what it has become.
Grahame Steele where did you go? Have you been back since?
I went to the East Midlands and no I have never returned.
In what way do you feel it has deteriorated over the last sixteen years?
16 years ago it was a lot worse than it is now haha, 2000-2011 were the worst years for croydon
Graham I was born there as well and also left at age 40 which was 18 years ago.Its now looks dire, run down all the roads are closed off due to that new market in North End,Allders gone etc etc.
❤missed you my CROYDON❤.
I never see Croydon. It's great!
Love Croydon
I've been to London several times and I never seen a Tram network in London before. I've seen the DLR and the underground though.
What the hell really?! They run from Wimbledon right through Croydon and can end up at Elmer's end
Really? Lots of trams in Croydon
@@pokelana543 that's the thing I've never been to Croydon. I have been to Central London countless times however.
@@Shugafay definitely will need to go to Croydon when I can.
@@KAIDAX you should go when the high street throws there christmas market its awesome!
Desmond bishop tutu.Has walked the same path. He loved Croydon.God rest his soul.
That's where I used to live
Nice video pl ease do a sutton walk, could include carew manor, sutton most overlooked part of London
Thank you!
Croydon has quite a variety of stores on offer
only takeaways
Looks like many closed stores empty and derelict so I agree
Good city
Nice video. I am from kerala(india)
Nice one. What time of day is this and what’s the temperature?
Cheers! It was around noon and 16ºc.
12:33 nál a Lángosos! :) Azért ott vagyunk na!
If anyone knows about Croydon in 90s and 00s it was booming 💥 everything you needed was in the town centre! The nightlife was pukka , orchid and heroes for me
imma croydon girl 😂💯
It's great seeing other parts of England. Is Croydon part of London?
Francis Martin I think the clue is in the title?
@@smithyPT got it!
It's part of London and of Surrey at the same time, uniquely
@@JayCreates thanks. I've never been so I didnt know.
Lol wtf. I find myself at the bottom of a UA-cam hole and I LITERALLY found myself at the bottom of a UA-cam hole... taking a stroll, I look directly at the camera! Don’t remember seeing it, which is the weirdest part, but... cool!
What part of the video? 🙂
Where ma Croydon gang at? Raised and studied here ; can’t call nothing else home
LESS GOOOOOOO
I'm here
Croydon boy born and bred here
I love your videos and love the old European culture in the stories and the legacy of heritage and I could not watch the videos were demonstrations in my country Iraq

I live near here
i have to go there for a job interview this afternnon.not looking foreward to it
Did u get the job?
Dont bother
I got "the job", many years ago, in Croydon. Take comfort in the fact that if you didn't get the job you didn't miss out on anything.
My old manner!
*HELLO WALKERS*
Nice video sir first comment
Some of these streets would do with a few trees/ plants. Too hard surfaced!!!
