I love how the cue ball is still moving and Ronnie is lining up his next shot.
you watch this and think the game's easy, then go and play and think 'never again, it's impossible'
I've played (very amateur) pool, and it's hard enough just to sink a fairly straightforward shot. Then I look at Ronnie, who'll sink a shot and also put the cue ball wherever he wants it on the table. Not to mention how he'll get one or two shots past the break and just plan out the entire rest of the frame, and then execute exactly as planned. Master of his craft.
Even billiards with big pockets and smaller table is too difficult for me :D

@@dimitrioschatzidimitriou7546 I don't know, it was a reasonable question considering it was the difference between being 2-0 up and 1-1 in a first to 4 frames. Ronnie played all 3 shots magnificently, but it could have gone awry.

@@NoStressCrossfire I think the true answer there is that Ronnie was always a very volatile player - absolutely untouchable at his best, but also prone to falling apart if he didn't feel right. His natural game was flamboyant and decisive, and I think he would have struggled to make himself play boring shots.
In other words, why is he playing exhibition shots? Because he can't /not/ play exhibition shots.
When Ronnie gets on a roll he is unstoppable, truly a legend of the game and IMO the 🐐, ridiculous levels of talent and natural ability

when you watch the ball sink in the pocket, it almost looks fake, like it vanishes, watch it again a couple of times. Unreal shot.

He was interviewed recently ( december 2021] and said age has become a factor in try to keep up with the younger players . he said and i'm paraphrasing , that he just can't recover as quickly from a big match as he use to . even so, if he gets into his rhythm he's unstoppable .

@@jofx4051 The very last shot was the only one that still mattered. It was 35/50 and he would have lost if he didn't pot any of those last balls. Every onther game in this compilation was already decided (there was no way for the opponent to win in any other case).
@@mrkv4k probably cuz he was already one frame ahead of his enemy, he kinda took it for granted and decided to play some exhibition shots instead. i think that he didnt rly care whether he lose that frame or not haha

Sad, but it is reality. There are no new players that come close to the spectacle we had in the 90's early naughties. I even rarely watch finals now... But I did watch the Rocket all the way last week! Good old times!

I hate it when commentators say 'exhibition shots',its snooker and all shots are valid,if the aim is to pot a ball it should be potted anyway you see fit,I feel that if any player was to win a frame with all 'exhibition shots',the commentators would call them out,yet the audience and myself would love it,I feel it's unfair of the commentators to do this and it just needles me......just saying

The reason why exhibition shots are called out by the commentators are twofold. Firstly it's what a player would do at a exhibition were it is not on TV and they play shots to impress a crowd at a local club or somewhere similar.
To do these shots in a televised tournament while not against the rules per se, is a form of belittling the opponent and showing off that 'i'm better than you" there is a unwritten rule that you don't do these shots out of respect for the game and opponent, hence the commentators pointing out that these shots are "exhibition shots"

@@rs-vp7re showboating is what we love,when messi or Ronaldo show boat with tricks that entertain the fans,kids and men alike worship them skills on show,and I believe all sport has stars who do this,and I love it,I love exhibition shots,and I just feel in my opinion it's unfair for commentators to call out snooker players for playing to the fans
