There is a lovely poem called “I have a mother who prays”. I sent it to my son to let him know that I never stop praying for him. I also ask the intercession of Blessed John Duns Scotus, who was Scottish but had connections to Germany as well, that he prays in heaven for Donald Trump, who had a Scottish mother and a father of German descent. I know that not all faiths accept that Saints intercede for us but I do believe.
I remember my grandmother praying for all of her children and grandchildren while she was dying from stomach cancer. She was reading her Bible every time I saw her.
