Its quite tragic when it happens too. My older sister had a miscarriage and she had a funeral for her baby. People ask online about unborn babies and mockingly ask "if the babie's alive why don't they already have birth certificates?" and now that I write that down its a pretty stupid question.

I have had 8 miscarriages between 9w-14w. My babies had hands, feet, fingers, toes, a little face, organs, a BEATING HEART. I held them, I cried, I mourned the loss of their life knowing I would never see their smile, hear their laugh. It is a BABY and anyone who disagrees is only lying to themselves to avoid responsibility.

FACT: Before the baby is born, blood goes through the placenta to get rid of waste and to pick up oxygen and nutrients that come from the mother. The developing baby manages on relatively low oxygen levels while in the uterus.
FACT: After birth the child is exposed to suddenly higher (potentially dangerous) oxygen levels. This shift requires different ways to protect the newborn - so the baby has systems ramped up to cope with this sudden flood of oxygen. Mild jaundice, a temporary yellowing of the skin resulting from a delay in liver enzymes kicking in, may be one such protective mechanism seen in many infants.
Physical changes plus shifts in biology and chemistry of the body’s systems are required to cope with the outside world.
FACT: Before birth, most of the baby’s blood circulation passes through the placenta, but bypasses the lungs.
After delivery, the placental flow stops. Instead of going from the baby’s heart to the placenta, the blood from the heart needs to redirect through the newly expanded lungs.
FACT: In naturally born babies, the baby has to actually deform its skull to be born
Humans are defined by our brains.
Human babies are relatively immature compared with some of our close primate relatives, but we cannot safely achieve more brain growth before delivery. For us, this extra growth has to occur over the first year or so after birth. This is Nature's way of protecting us from brain damage during birth.
i.e., what the fetus is - in the womb... is a potential baby only. The necessary features that enjoin it to actual legal, protected PERSONHOOD is absent.
FACT: before birth, there is no concept of vision - it is a physical sense, only. When a baby is born, its' vision is super-blurry. It immediately after birth, begins to strain to focus - and take in information. This is vital to understanding how to think about the fetus vs. baby issue.
FACT: At birth, the baby's body suddenly reacts to a colder environment as well as the jolt of new sensory perceptions... hearing, sight, touch, taste... everything - and I mean everything changes dramatically. This is the moment where the fetus becomes a baby and joins the Human Race with the full protections afforded it. Now, it is "like us" - it warrants protection, as it is removed from the host and no longer dependent directly upon the mother for survival... it can be handed to another human being for care, if need be.
      You missed the car analogy.
A wheelbase is not a car... a chassis is not a car... it is owned by the manufacturer until it is released out of the factory.
A fetus is not a baby... a blastocyst is not a person... it is owned by the manuyfacturer until it is out of the factory
...and I'm not insane... Here's why.
We are not talking about life. Life doesn't matter. Being a human being - we must kill life daily... hourly to survive. Bacteria... food... walking... scratching an itch... wiping your eyes... this kills life.
So what then? What is the issue?
The VALUE of a life is front and center here.
We obviously do not value the life of various bacteria to quit eating.. to quit hiking.. to quit bathing...
So we MUST acknowledge that some life is more valuable than others, right? It would be wrong to make hiking illegal because plants would be stepped on.. or perhaps the occasional ant. Right?
Let's get more to the point:
You wake up in the morning and find yourself back to back in bed with an unconscious man. He has been found to have a fatal kidney ailment, and the hospital has canvassed all the available medical records and found that you alone have the right blood type to help. They have therefore kidnapped you, and last night the nan's circulatory system was plugged into yours, so that your kidneys can be used to extract poisons from his blood as well as your own. If he is unplugged from you now, he will die; but in nine months he will have recovered from his ailment, and can safely be unplugged from you.
      1. This guy's right to stay alive is not greater than your right to bodily autonomy.. to your privacy... to do with your body as you see fit.
      2. Q: Is demanding to be detached from this man a reasonable demand? Does his being attached to you against your will, constitute an injustice?
If so - then we have dealt with the abortion issue regarding rape. You are now Pro-choice.
      NOW...
Suppose that you voluntarily went into a meeting where you knew that this sick man was, and that you might likely pass out at some point because you are prone to passing out and going into closed spaces increases your likelihood of passing out.
Does this mean that you gave the man permission to be hooked up to you in the event that you passed out and he did as well? You voluntarily entered into this 'risky situation'...
No. Your rights are not forfeited just because you chose to enter a risky situation - they are unalienable - and that means something.
There are certain unalienable rights... rights we hold sacred.
The right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness,
These are rights granted to "We the People". Now, 'people' here, is a legal term. Things that are not "people" do not benefit from these rights.
What is the legal definition of "people"?
"The aggregate of the individuals who comprise a state or a nation."
      INDIVIDUAL (in): not (divis) assimilated
A fetus, being literally part of the mother's body - is assimilated. It is dependent... it is not viable to the point of individuality.
      It is attached.
...and what is attached? In the case of abortion, an unwanted child. The mother does not want the thing in her that will eventually become a child.
What it is, while inside her is a human being being formed. Because of that... and because the woman has ESTABLISHED rights against others intruding on her body and privacy, and because the thing she will be killing will be a life - but will not be a protected life - as it is not an individual... as it is not a person... as it has nothing about it's experience that enjoins it to personhood outside of physical attributes
There's a concept called bodily autonomy. It's generally considered a human right.
Bodily Autonomy means a person has control over who or what uses their body, for what, and for how long.
It's why you cannot be forced to donate blood, tissue or organs.
Even if you're dead. Even if you'd save or improve two lives! It's why someone cannot touch you, have sex with you - or use your body in any way without your continuous consent.
A fetus is using someone's body parts. Therefore, under bodily autonomy - it is there by permission, not by right. It needs a person's continuous consent. If the renter denies or withdraws consent, the pregnant person has the legal right to remove them.. from that moment.
A fetus is equal in this regard because if I need someone else's body parts to live, they also can legally deny me their use.
By you saying that a fetus has a right to someone's body parts until it is born - despite the pregnant person's wishes - you are doing two things:
      1. Granting a fetus more rights to other people's bodies than any born person.
      2. Awarding a pregnant person less right's to their body than a corpse.

My niece delivered twin boys at 26 weeks. They were so tiny that they could each be cupped in your hand. They were perfect, miniature humans who cried and stretched and cuddled and clutched their parents’ fingers. They were born with unique personalities. They are two incredible, healthy boys today, eight years after they were born. When you really think about it, we are all clumps of cells, making up body parts and organs. Every one of us has a different genetic code, making us each unique, one of a kind. The way we view life, and its worth, as a society is reflected in how we treat the unborn, the elderly, the physically and mentally compromised, and the frail. We should not be as concerned about sexual identity and personal pronouns, as we are about the way we value human life in all its stages. If we cannot embrace our own worth and the complexities of our development, we cannot possibly grasp the true value of our own humanity.

Now id say I'm partly pro choice but I'm really only okay with it if you abort before the third trimester or rather before it has a functioning brain. You got some people aborting at 8 months that's just wrong...that was a nearly fully made person and you just ripped it's limbs from it's body. I'd prefer people not do it at all but in the event that the long term consiquences are just to much to handle then I suppose, be fore the third trimester though. I'm sure I'm not alone, I was raised by a mother who actually was a "counselor" at the Urban League in San Diego. Her main job was to advise women how to get government paid abortions. Idk how many babies died at her hands, she worked there for years. I learned her way of thinking. She was a "smart" college student also, very leftist and Democrat. After I became a woman and mother I began to learn the truth. I'm an "extremist" - pro life all the way no gray areas. I got here by learning from great women like this woman. I got there because God has a plan for each of us. I love watching women and men talk on this because I never want to give up on people like these students. If I can change so can they - anything's possible! Btw my mom died last year. She was a very Catholic conservative pro life person when she died. By then she had many years under her belt counseling women how to keep their babies. She changed too.

      2. Gray areas I’m assuming are things like assault and medical reasons. It’s not gross to believe that killing an innocent and another victim in the situation is not right. As for the survivor, it does not help them-abortion retraumatizes them, leads to more mental, emotional and even physical damage, and makes them a victimizer. As for medical reasons ie “life of mother” this is grossly and deliberately distorted by abortionists. what medical condition would make abortion safer than childbirth. Don’t buy in that those medical professionals willing “do harm”, to kill a small human being, really care about what happens to anyone as long as they get paid and it doesn’t effect their bottom line

@@sabsain2399 abortion has far reaching implications for the individual who is aborting a child, the family, their partner in the creative process, the community, and the nation. It isn't something that should be taken lightly, nor used to simply get out of an irresponsible use of creative powers. Abortion is also final for the aborted fetus. Death is final. There are few things more troublesome than parents, and especially a mother, taking the life of their own child, whether wanted or unwanted.
Because this is such a serious and consequential practice, it really does need to be debated and limits to what our government does in regards to abortion are the right of the citizens. Additionally, educating women especially, about what abortion is and does, exposing the lies organizations like Planned Parenting tells, is important. Limiting when and how abortions can take place will also help people be less reckless in their abuse of unprotected sex and become more personally responsible, taking precautions to prevent unwanted pregnancies.
Bottom line, in the majority of situations abortion is absolutely unnecessary. The need for abortion is preventable. The impact on our society is long lasting and damaging. The impact on the individual is forever unchangeable. This is why we care. This is why it is important to educate and limit the practice of abortion.
Your argument is unfeeling, selfish, and ignorant. I know that is harsh, I do share it in love. Just because someone has a choice to do something damaging but on the surface seems to only impact them, does not mean we turn a blind eye. We try to help that person, give them options, provide resources, and be there for them personally as they face the difficult situation. Should we apply your same logic to suicide?

We saw 1 22week baby and 2 24w babies. It’s heartbreaking to look on those poor things and think that people would deny them their humanity and say that since they have such a small chance to live and an even smaller chance to “normal” life that we should snuff them out. It’s no different than the thought process the nazis used to murder jews and the many other “lesser beings” in their eyes.

I totally discounted the fact that I was a kid and he was a grown man. I totally discounted the fact that he was playing what the songs called for and not just trying to impress people with his advanced ability. Most of all, I saw myself as better because I was learning advanced techniques in a prestigious music college after many years of private study while this drummer most likely was self taught, never went to school for music and didn't incorporate a lot of advanced techniques in the music he recorded. Now looking back, It is embarrasing that I ever felt that way because in reality, that guy kicked my ass as a drummer. The point I am making is that this is the same mindset for many of these college kids that are taking in this bullshit from their arrogant teachers and then looking down upon adults with real world experience because they don't have a degree or they aren't in the loop to the "knowledge" they are getting in their pompus schools.

She is the most wonderful person for taking responsibility and loving me. All these woman who say “it’s my body” would rather have sex and kill than just substain, they’d rather stand up at that podium and argue invalid points and not understand the truth and see that also there are other people that can’t have children that would appreciate one. *Drug addictions, and thought addictions are closely related on a neurological level.* Some people are more beholden to the ancient part of the brain (Meso Limbic System/emotional) rather than someone that reasons using the modern part (Frontal Cortex/rational).
Imagine the euphoria experienced by the average person for believing they won a million dollars on a scratch off ticket (it could be a joke ticket yet as long as they believe). Now imagine someone having the same sensations, but being convinced it's a paranormal contact for believing John 3:16.
We evolved to seek pleasure (eating/reproduction), and avoid getting killed (tiger in the grass/competing neighbor/harsh enviroment). With our increased cognitive abilities we made up other reasons for pleasure, and survival beyond basic necessity. The Dopamine Reward System over time bridges gaps in pathways in order to form habits in order to repeat behaviors, and or thoughts. The often cited testimony of getting off an addiction thanks to a God is just a placebo replacement due to the power of the mind (an AA participant I heard of chose to worship the radiator in his room instead of an higher power, and became sober).
"The second system, known as the mesolimbic system, has its cell bodies in the ventral tegmental area, which is medial to the substantia nigra. It projects to several parts of the limbic system, including the nucleus accumbens and ventral portions of the striatum, amygdala, and hippocampus, as well as prefrontal cortex. *This system has been linked to reward-related behavior (Berridge and Kringelbach, 2015). Dopamine levels in the nucleus accumbens increase in response to both natural reinforcers (such as food, drink, and sex) and drugs of abuse (such as amphetamine and cocaine). Additionally, in humans, activity in this region increases in response to more abstract rewards, such as money."*
Marie T. Banich/Rebecca J. Compton, Cognitive Neuroscience, Section: Subsystems, pp. 2/3
*"Dopamine, in fact, is critical in association learning and the reward system of the brain that Skinner discovered through his process of operant conditioning, whereby any behavior that is reinforced tends to be repeated. A reinforcement is, by definition, something that is rewarding to the organism; that is to say, it makes the brain direct the body to repeat the behavior in order to get another positive reward.* ...The connection between dopamine and belief was established by experiments conducted by Peter Brugger and his colleague Christine Mohr at the University of Bristol in England. *Exploring the neurochemistry of superstition, magical thinking, and belief in the paranormal, Brugger and Mohr found that people with high levels of dopamine are more likely to find significance in coincidences and pick out meaning and patterns where there are none."*
Michael Shermer, The Believing Brain, Section: 6 The Believing Neuron pp. 8-10/29
*"Genetic and behavioral factors influencing religiously motivated behavior appear related to dopamine metabolism and signaling. Inclination toward religious behavior and motivation has been associated with a polymorphism on the dopamine receptor gene DRD4 (Comings, Gonzales, Saucier, Johnson, & MacMurray, 2000;Sasaki et al., 2013). Acquired disorders of dopamine physiology also show links to religious behaviors."*

"Dopamine, adrenaline, and noradrenaline are neurotransmitters that belong to the catecholamine family. www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4032934/
*"Dopamine In schizophrenia (SCZ), there is evidence that very high levels of dopamine in the limbic system play a major role in emergence of hallucinations and delusions. Antipsychotic medications, which block central dopamine activity, alleviate the hallucinations of psychosis. Drugs with strong dopaminergic effect, such as L-dopa, methylphenidate, bromocriptine, pramipexole and piribedil, may induce hallucinations. D-amphetamine, a direct dopamine agonist, may also induce psychosis and hallucinations."*

*"Here, we show that administration of a drug that enhances dopaminergic function (dihydroxy-L-phenylalanine; L-DOPA) increases an optimism bias. This effect is due to L-DOPA impairing the ability to update belief in response to undesirable information about the future."*

"Tibetan mystics have long practiced a method to create sentient beings (Tulpas) from the power of concentrated thought."
Note: These (Tulpas) are not sentient beings, but a manifestation of the subconscious mind through neural plasticity via neurochemical imbalancing inducing meditation. In other words it's having a dream state while awake, and interacting with a character that's made up of one's own preformed thoughts (building blocks of ideas/concepts that are below conscious awareness) which gives the illusion of sentience. In simpler words it's self induced schizophrenia due to stresses (psychological/physical/environmental) where neurochemical traffic gets rerouted causing hallucinations to any of the five senses, also including involuntary movement, and distorted speech (glossolalia).

      My verdict.
the student said "it is not a human being." She did not say "oh it is JUST a fertalized egg." The student grants that it is human, but she does not grant that it is "a life" that is, a particular life. it is actually a "thing" which is correct since a being refers to the material existence of a thing and yes, the speaker is a "clump of cells," but the student is not saying that is ALL she is. The speaker also has other quialities that make her a being, qualities that are lacking in an embryo. The speaker then shifts the conversation to a question of "value" (1:53) which is not at all what the discussion was about. it was about the status of an embryo, not about whether an embryo is valuable or not. The speaker began with what she thought was a common sense googlable scientific definition that would prove her point, but when she got schooled, she shifted to a discussion of ethics. This is exactly why the student was right in questioning her background in biology which the speaker dismissed subtly proving that she knows absolutely nothing about the subject.
The student won the first part of that exchange.

I was pro-choice out of guilt when I was younger after agreeing to an abortion with my now ex-wife (girlfriend at the time). I always knew it was wrong, and that I was wrong for allowing it as a man.
One day, during a conversation with a friend of mine, (many debates between the two of us) I finally admitted to him that I had been living and promoting a lie to him and others for years. I felt ZERO GUILT after admitting this. The weight of all of my guilt was taken from me. I repented, and have never looked back. Abortion is code for baby murder.
Just because you want to be right, doesn't make your argument right. You cannot advocate the murdering of the unborn, and be just in the eyes of G-d. I've sinned enough for 10 lifetimes. Being Pro-Life is an easy road to travel.
