Nice video. I have the regular dapper coming to me for guitar noodling. I have the bass dapper sitting in my shopping cart at Thomann. Supposed to ship at the end of April. I was one of the many folks who bought and then returned the T21 bass fly rig. I'm thinking the bass dapper will be closer to usable.
Received mine today, sounds and plays increadably good (im used to hi-end pedal's so know what I'm talking about when I say good). And it is really small.
Bart van Schuylenburg Very nice pedal. Congratulations! Just one question: does it sound good using headphones?

C'est toujours un plaisir de vous entendre jouer et parler Français! :-) musicalement ! it's always a pleasure to ear you're playing guitar and your speak in French :-) musically !
About 20 min. for me it sounds a little bit like the old amazing Rockman! I love that pedal :-) Edit (06.04.17): I bought it to jam a little bit at work and it´s great! Ok, the OD/Distortion stand alone is not so great, but the Delay and the Chorus are damn hot. If you play all 3 effects togehther, it sounds amazing. I love it.
For Dapper designers: Add (an adjustable) compressor unit (pre distortion unit) and you've almost got it! Remove distortion unit and replace it with tube screamer unit and that's it! Motto: We don't need programming - just few clicks.... and simple units! Dapper mini could be a musicians swiss knife if updatet - do it now!
Eytsch! I thought you did a great acting job as Baron Strucker in Age of Ultron, are you doing any more? great review, Ive bought the large Valeton Dapper, I could have done with a chorus too, I hope the Mark II has one.
Henning great show and honest reviews. Nice to see your other half smiling. Top tip on the NYXL strings, 10/10. Are you going to do the Dark? Many thanks Mate cheers!
He could use the Marshall department of that Joyo Klonz (I'm sure there has to be one), or the BantamP Jackman for that purpose. Maybe we should ask him to do that sometimes ...Henning, how about it?
Tunnna... oh a tuner! I love that accent. Nice job, I like how the video is presented, ,that pedal overlay is really a good idea. That amp galore @4:50i s mouthwatering! That Charvel you're holding, better hide that under the carpet tonight coz I'm gonna steal that 😂 jus kidding:)
Martin Krauser Haha, so it seems! Although... I'm not perfectly sure if I remember it correctly but I think he once told that his 'signature' running gag initially came from her ; )
Depends on which amp and how your going to use it together, since your mentioning Djent I would think you would want more drive, so if your using amp drive you can boost with the Dapper Mini's OD. If your only using your amp with clean sound I would suggest going for a drive in addtion or something else, not the Dapper Dark though since honestly, it's drive doesn't sound good even on Hennings review of it. Personally I would only use the Dapper Mini as a cheap practical take with me around jam/practice solution, although it is still good as an entry level board.
If so, I'll buy the long one. If not I'll go for the mini because it sounds so good. This is a tool that is awesome for me as a guitar teachers. Simpel, analoge and goodworking sounds for my students.
Did you actually buy it? If so, how is it? I'm also considering it, I'd prefer the separate OD and Distortion from the big one which can be used together but that one doesn't have the Chorus and instead a tuner which would be completely useless for me cause I wouldn't want to go without my Polytune anyways ...it's a pity.
Also biste een wirklich lustischer Typ😁😂🤣😎.....und voll cool biste aach! 😷🙃😎
The dapper original has one, cab simulator switch, overdrive and distortion, delay, tuner and effects loop.. this mini pedal is for simplicity, all the basics with for simple rock songs.
@@paolo-1283 has cabsim but no preamp, if u go straight to PA sound very tiny without it, but for the price u can add valeton dapper amp or other preamp can be so good
The regular 'Dapper 4 Effect Strip' has that, I guess it's exactly the same sounds, just a bit bigger, with 5 switches and an FX loop (it costs 169 Euro, still a lot cheaper than the FlyRig stuff and apparently better).
But why should people buy this when it's roughly the same price as a Zoom G3 and Boss GT1?? And both those units offer a hell of a lot more than this and sound just as good.
Roughly you could say, the less options you get the better the quality will be. This is much more like single pedals, without menus and stuff, you practically have direct control of all parameters, I guess a lot of people prefer that. I don't think those multis with their artificial character can compete with this one soundwise, especially not the Boss. Also the price is not roughly the same, maybe you were thinking about the big brother of this, the regular 'Dapper 4 effect strip', which is €169, this 'Mini' is 99 bucks, just a bit more than half the price of the Boss and Zoom units you mentioned. I'd say these dappers are a great alternative to the MultiFX pedals, I'm seriously considering one although I still have my BossGT10. And btw, if you thinking about buying one of these cheaper MultiFX, there also is the Mooer GE100, which seems to be great for around 150 bucks.
DerEchteBold I have the G3 and I guarantee you, it sounds just as good as this...so much so that I don't even use an amp anymore because of the amp sims. If you're only going by UA-cam videos, then I suggest you try one out yourself. If Henning was to demo one, he'd make it sound as good as this Valeton because of his professional production gear, guitars and amps. And a G3 only costs a little bit more than this Dapper Mini, but packs a hell of a lot more. My point is, this Valeton is overpriced considering what else you can get out there for the same price.
While Zoom absolutely takes the cake on the delay and mods and has the same immediate access to parameters, I find it hard to believe that it can compare with the overdrive/distortion section here, or most analog pedals, for that matter.
Overpriced? With a hundred bucks price tag? Reality check please!? I'm absolutely convinced Henning wouldn't be impressed like that by some MultiFX unit. It's different, I told you, I own a GT-10 and I also used a GT-3 in the past and a Zoom 2020 way before that. Although I think the G3 sounds better than the newer Boss things you can't really compare it to something like this.
arnel magpantay Such a pitty it doesn't have an aux in, then it would be the perfect home device for people who like simple but good sounding - and afordable - gear.
Cheers for the review , the bit where you switched from distortion to overdrive convinced me not to buy one , the “ buzz “ was horrendous . PS don’t do comedy 👍
Always great production quality, wonderful playing but sorry... I can never stand listening to you speak for longer than 20 seconds. I just don't think you're funny at all and I'd say don't try to be. Just be concise. And "I'm not getting paid...", everybody gets you do affiliate marketing for Thomann. Just my humble opnion.
I got this DAPPER. It,s sound is really great, fantastic, Thanks for this video!! I liked.
I think Leslie did a great job! It's quite hard to do those live cuts. With a few more practice it is totally an option for you guys :)
One more nice demo.
Did you have time to quantify the annual budget for wall of amps central heating? Is it profitable? 😀😁
Great demo Henning. I will order this Mini wonder pedal right away. Always a pleasure watching your videos. Keep it up 👍🏻

Henning you rock! Great demo. Just ordered mine. Donner has something similar called the Alpha. No reviews anywhere but it looks promising.
The Donner one is even cheaper but I just saw three reviews and the Distortion doesn't seem to be nearly as good as the Dapper.

Are you going to do the Dark? Many thanks Mate cheers!
Hi great sound! but why does the mini has chorus and the big one does not ? strange..
Matty Woo I think that the mini is more like a one swiss knife and the other is like a platform to which you could add more (hence the fx loop)
Couldn't not notice the irony of a fellow atheist playing For the Love of God with heavenly tones. Well played, sir!
JH Scofield wait, he's an atheist?
Dub
You mean Henning? Of course he is!
DerEchteBold Henning? Is that the guy who owns the channel?
Dub _
Yes, the one in the video.
Where you thinking JH was talking about Vai?
In that case I couldn't answer your question.
Great video as always ! I am get this little guy !!!
Are you running the Virtory in 40 Watt mode?
I experiants that the V40 lost dynamics on lower wattages.
Btw. i love this Amp.
does if sounds differerent compare to big brother VES-1?
Fantastic video and funy thanks greetings from Spain ;)
The "We have both - Country and Western" reference is from Blues Brothers, right?!
DerEchteBold It's killing me! We need confirmation.
Yes it is.
This thing sounds amazing! And the price is ridiculous for what you get. I would love to have something like this for bass...
Check Valeton bass dapper
The dogs love for Leslie was obvious in the amp wall rebuild you recently did.
Yay!
Shatner makes it to HP42!
In the Thomman's description in English it says that it is "for electric guitar & bass". Would you recommend it for bass?
I wish you would demo with a Marshall. I know you don't like them, but Marshall's do have distinct sounds that us Marshall players would like to hear.
He could use the Marshall department of that Joyo Klonz (I'm sure there has to be one), or the BantamP Jackman for that purpose.
Maybe we should ask him to do that sometimes ...Henning, how about it?
DerEchteBold totally. I play out of a JCM2000 and all these pedals react way differently on it, than the amps he plays out of.
Tunnna... oh a tuner! I love that accent. Nice job, I like how the video is presented, ,that pedal overlay is really a good idea. That amp galore @4:50i s mouthwatering! That Charvel you're holding, better hide that under the carpet tonight coz I'm gonna steal that 😂 jus kidding:)
as usual ... very usefull. Thx
Sounds Great! Really good, especially with a $99. price point! : )
Use the amp return or infront the Amp (input) ??? Tks
dapper dark vs dapper mini
who is win?
Would you recommend this pedal for an 11 year old boy who chronically wets the bed?
Is this recording directly into the line or through the amp?
I like the live vibe
Killer sound as always !!
awesome live show, your wife did an awesome job and you my friend, you are awesome to!!! grate show/blog
Leslie is his girlfriend. Henning is married to saying "That's what she said!".
Martin Krauser
Haha, so it seems!
Although... I'm not perfectly sure if I remember it correctly but I think he once told that his 'signature' running gag initially came from her ; )
absolutely SPLIT!!!
The OD, transparant or midboost?
Could this plug into a PA for a quick solution to those "your not using that amp in here buddy" gigs ?
Please review that Egnater. You already have it so no need to get it and you probably spent a lot of time with it.
how much does it cost the pedal ? you are great !! take care
Only 99 Euro, the big ones are 169
Will this be a good choice for Djent and progressive kinda thing? Need opinions please!
Depends on which amp and how your going to use it together, since your mentioning Djent I would think you would want more drive, so if your using amp drive you can boost with the Dapper Mini's OD.

+Joerg Baermann Thanks man!
is the dist on this mini same as in the long one? its sound so good
Hi Henning, Are these effects the same circuit as in the original larger dapper?
If so, I'll buy the long one. If not I'll go for the mini because it sounds so good. This is a tool that is awesome for me as a guitar teachers. Simpel, analoge and goodworking sounds for my students.

I just saw your other comment there, thanks and never mind ; )
All the Best
There is free power supply??
I have sonickage rockstage. For the price, it is really cool too. Make reviews of sonickage pedals. thx
After watching this, i bought one
I play City Eastern or City Midwestern myself!
Haha, how about suburb northern?
Edge of the hood Neanderthalian !
when will you demo that black dapper?
Maybe never, I think he said he may not have the time.
I stand corrected, he already did review it ; )
DerEchteBold Nice - I'll take a look
Is that Rafa singing the leadout tune?
Chirn70 yes!
wow, Henning playing Steve Vai ^^ !

can the od be used as a booster?
Sure like any other od, you put gain to min and play with the vol, but you will have the color of the OD or DS if you use it.
Like Darth Vader,....Ah, Impressive...
how much..?
lapendos naz 99€
Molta distorsione as Italian.... TRE means three.....
89 Euro by Gear4music,,,but this guy work for THomann....
Now it's the same price, but if you still find it cheaper somewhere Thomann will always give you that same price, I actually tried that once.
I'm so bummed.....I can't get it! I'm in the U.S.-m-A.
You cant compare this to the FlyRig5 there is no preamp in this pedal
