There's no more superlatives for Jason; he's just The Guy. This is exactly what I was requesting when I put the comment on the last video about doing a tutorial on chordal / choral music and harmonizing a melody; I requested it and you had it prepared all along. I did go through the Do-Re-Mi tutorial when I had some time over the weekend, and I'm getting quicker because I was able to learn the melody and toggle bass pattern in one day (that's really good for me, it usually takes me weeks); however, in the introduction of that tutorial you did a little performance of Do-Re-Mi with chords; harmonies; arpeggios; ornamentations; rhythm - the full works, it just sounded a million times more professional than my simple left hand toggling, I just don't understand how you do it so effortlessly with no rehearsal? I think where I'm faltering (if i can even say that I'm faltering inasmuch that I've come on leaps and bounds since finding your channel) is with the rhythm. Sometimes you're accompanying with the pulse, then it's eighth notes, then sixteenth, then block chords, then arpeggios; then a bass pattern and all in real time, so no two renditions are the exactly the same - how do you have the presence of mind; the speed of thought to do this in real time? I'm sure if you notated these songs I could eventually perform them like you do, but it would take me weeks of assimilating; practicing and getting the muscle memory, but you seem to just do without even thinking - how is this even possible? Anyway my guy, blessings to you; you are one of the best.
Jason, Your lessons are always enjoyable, but I want to congratulate you on this one! Absolutely superb explanation and demonstration, really brings home the concept!
@@nathanielschool Never played a musical instrument prior to retiring a couple of years ago. Your generosity with these tutorials is a godsend. Thank you. Be blessed!
Jason, this is a wonderful, thorough job. Thank you! It will undoubtedly make it easier to understand what you are doing in the short riffs that you record each day, which until now have been going by too fast for me to understand the chord changes.
Most of intermediate piano players are stuck on this way.... But my jason sir is here👍so all problems will solve now after learning this lesson thank you very very much sirji🙏🙏🙏 for this classic lesson 👍
I love your generally very systematic approaches! I am not that secure in identifying the different cords yet, but if I do it slowly, with a piece of paper, I find my way. In the end this is all practice, right?

Thank you very much Jerry!
Amazing!!! Learned a great deal. The virtual keyboard showing the keys pressed works really well. However, it was used sparingly in this lesson.
Good to know! Showed it primarily when needed!
