    Cotto is looking very sharp for sure. That speed bag work.... wow.. good stuff. Should be a great battle. Cotto looking like he added some muscle for his 160 debut as well.

    Most definitely I would like to see Cotto vs Mayweather 2 or Cotto vs Pacquiao 2. It would be very interesting to see him fight either one of them again.

    damn cotto moves around a lot, no wonder he gasses out in the middle rounds, great footwork but he really needs to pace himself thats been his biggest problem, running on an empty tank after starting fights looking sharp.

    this is how your supposed to work a heavy bag.....way too often i see guys who stand right in front of the bag like their feet are cemented to the floor throwing wild shots just to make a loud ass noise
    lol especially the smaller fighters if your under 200lbs there is no reason you shoudnt be moving around the bag footwork is key.we all know that bags dont hit back but atleast acknowledge that they move.

    • @RafaelCDet
      @RafaelCDet 9 років тому +1

      No, that's how you're supposed to work a double-end bag. There are multiple ways to work a heavy bag, this is one of those.
      George Foreman stood in the front of the bag like his feet was cemented to the floor and I doubt you would ever say anything to his face.

    • @youz1uglybish
      @youz1uglybish 9 років тому +2

      read the comment lol....if you are under 200lbs there is no reason you shoudnt be moving around the bag....george foreman was well over 200lbs....just because george foreman found success standing in one spot like a roided up mummy with no footwork doesnt mean manny pacquiao could do the same

    • @RafaelCDet
      @RafaelCDet 9 років тому

      youz1uglybish I wouldn't say 220 is "well over 200lbs".
      And have you ever seen Pac on a heavy bag?

    • @youz1uglybish
      @youz1uglybish 9 років тому +2

      yes pac moves around the bag...foreman in his prime was 220+ in the 90's he was substantially heavier...besides that in foremans prime he was fighting alot of guys who where barely over 200lbs..when have you ever seen george foreman at a size disadvantage through out his prime years???
      you train the way you fight and you fight the way you train period.

    • @youz1uglybish
      @youz1uglybish 9 років тому

      good fighters are taught from the feet up...if you dont train good footwork you will never have it.its not a coincidence that the guys who glue themselves to the floor and just tea off on the bag as hard as they can have shitty footwork most of the time

    is it just me or does his powerlock gloves have a very strange shape to them? also anyone have any concrete knowledge of what ounce they are in this workout?

    • @KevmanX999
      @KevmanX999 9 років тому

      brad harris I'd imagine they're like 14oz, maybe a 16oz. You don't want to hit the heavy bag with light gloves

    • @Brad45420
      @Brad45420 9 років тому

      KevmanX999 oh def. i have the same glove in 18 but his look even bigger. i know he spars in 20's so i was just curious. i dont know what he does to his gloves but they always look strange on him in training and in fights, when he used winning and reyes back in the day and now that he uses mx in fights and powerlock in training

    • @KevmanX999
      @KevmanX999 9 років тому

      It might be that he uses extra padding when he gloves up. I train muay thai, so we do things a little differently in that we don't really secure our thumbs when wrapping our hands, and I also have days where I hit the heavy bag with gardening gloves that have been modified to be like open finger gloves, and I throw 1,2 combos over, and over again to help build up my knuckles, then I throw 200 kicks, 100 each leg to condition my shins. It's painful, but necessary

    • @Brad45420
      @Brad45420 9 років тому

      KevmanX999 oh good shit, i tried mma but fuck that i landed one kick and said ill stick to boxing haha. but yea he has a normal hand wrap of gauze and tape with gauze as a padding and its a pro wrap job not amateur style. i saw him get wrapped in another video. its my guess either something added into the glove or custom padding or just an optical illusion from the everlast symbol being higher on the back part of the glove. i dont know but it drives me crazy haha

    • @KevmanX999
      @KevmanX999 9 років тому

      Yeah I hear that lol. I mean I have no problem with throwing kicks. I studied karate for five years, but I am looking to make the transition to MMA, Anyway it's gotta be either a custom glove, or just your eyes messing with you. It's like this apartment I used to live in The guy that lived there before me decided to have a red accent wall right where the tv was, and all the other walls were black. Drove me nuts to the point I was like f**k it I'm painting over this s**t, lmfao

      I wouldn't mind seeing ggg vs the winner of canelo lara, or cotto Martinez what do you think?

Why is it that black people wear pink and it's all good but when cotto has pink he is gay .. The none cotto fans are out but for a small island like P.R we got reggeton ,salsa y Cotto puñeta !!!!!

    Freddies fighters always getting catchweights or waiting for the weakest champ to get a title. They are hoping the catchweight and Martinez injuries are enough to get Cotto the title. Pretty sad.

    Queen cotto, The coward, The Diva. I lost all respect for him as a fighter with his recent decisions and holding the middleweight title hostage. I used too love cotto, but this recent abomination, there is no excuse.
    Too fight daniel geale, the man who got ko'd by the man, Who is currently the mandatory challenger, Is shocking. Normally i wouldnt post anything so negative about a fighter, but his actions make me cringe. I see people defending him but he was more than willing to make a deal with canelo if his demands were met.
    By holding the middleweight title hostage, He is disgracing the sport of boxing and what it is truly about. Weather or not other fighters out there are demanding this or that, cough, floyd, is irrelevant.
    I personally hope miguel cotto retires from boxing, before he disgraces his legacy any further than the damage already done.

      Really? Talk about hyperbole. "Abomination," "disgrace,"--you speak of Cotto as if he were some paper champ who's never fought anybody. He beat Sergio Martinez, the lineal Middleweight kingpin. He completely demolished him. The guy has fought multiple world champions, the absolute best of the best. He's been up, down, and everything in-between. After his demolition of Martinez, a fight that nobody favored him to win, he deserves respect. He deserves to be selective with his opposition after years of fighting world-class opposition. He's earned it. Canelo is a legit opponent and a true warrior. Golovkin is great, his time will come, but realistically he's still lacking in marquee wins.

    • @musicmusic6595
      @musicmusic6595 9 років тому

      bizmonkey007
      Your still missing the point. Just because he fought great opponents like floyd and pac, That does not give him the right to hold the title hostage for big paydays.
      Your kidding your self, this is boxing. I respected cotto all the way up to his recent actions, which to me were absolutely unforgivable. A man who truly deserves the middle weight crown, who has won two other title in that division, and EVEN went through the hassle of obtaining the WBC Interim after, And gets promised a shot at the title, then has to wait even further because miguel cotto decided to take a fight that was more profitable and has more chance of winning, And this was after he was made to wait, and AFTER miguel took a one year hiatus.
      The least he could have done out of respect, relinquished the title.
      I love boxing, i love everything about it, But dont tell me just because he is fighting canelo now, that all is forgiven and the man that rightfully deserves the crown has been thrown to the side lines because a diva fancies or so called Deserves another pay day.
      Lets get this straight. Miguel Cotto lost to every A side opponent, He even lost to margarito, And lets be honest cotto fought a martinez that looked completely shot and was coming off of a layoff. If it were the same martinez that fought paul williams i dont feel the same out come would have been evident.
      But regardless, all points aside, i give him credit he still beat him and i was over the moon when he did, i thought yes he has his career back on track. But what he done to gennady golovkin i cant forgive. He does not have the right to waste other peoples time who rightfully earnt the shot to have the good solid fights.
      Ethically cotto should have relinquished the title. Just because golovkin is lacking in marquee wins that is not his problem, he took the official route to winning the WBC intercon title, he had earnt his shot at the lineal title. Cotto strong armed the title and has made one of the most prestigous belts in boxing look farcical. That might be ok with you but to me its heart breaking.
      Sergio martinez said it right about cotto, he is nothing but a Diva who continues to refer to him self in the third person when in fact, he has lost to every A side opponent he has faced.
      The only way for me as a fan, that he can pull this back, is by giving GGG the fight he deserves if he beats canelo, if he does that, win or loose, i would respect him again because even though he made him wait, he did what was ethical.

      Music Music
      I see what you're saying and respect your argument. However, I still feel like it's overreaching and skewed. Saying Cotto has lost to every A side fighter isn't accurate (Mosley was the A side if I'm not mistaken). Sergio Martinez was the consensus favorite going into their fight and the definite A side. It's easy to write off Martinez in hindsight as being old and shop-worn, but it's not the whole story. Miguel Cotto is a fighter reborn, and he proved it that night. Roach has turned what many considered to be an over-the-hill champion into a force of nature. To disregard Cotto's resurgence, his improvement as a fighter, his complete decimation of a champion like Martinez, is unfair.
      Has Cotto put himself in a tough spot? Absolutely. He's not a true Middleweight and it showed with Geale. Hell, Cotto and Max Kellerman all but came to that conclusion in the post-fight interview when referring to Cotto's walk-around weight. But he's far from a "diva" and his actions are far from a disgrace. The man's earned the right to take his time, to be choosey and to wait on GGG until the money's there. That's what prize fighting is about at the end of the day: business.
      As for GGG, I'd love to see him fight a real Middleweight. A fight with Peter Quillen would be great, but network and promotional differences make that fight improbable. A dream fight would be GGG vs Super Middleweight kingpin Andre Ward, but I don't see that fight happening or GGG winning if it actually does come to fruition.
