Nostalgic video. I was up there in 2015 & 2016. Camped at Alta and Cliff lakes. Prior to that in 1968 when I worked for the USFS on a trail crew. We built the trail from Middle Lake to Lake Ivern.
Thanks, Matt. It’s definitely an area worth exploring. *We aren’t really smokers, aside from a rare celebratory cigar. And we usually keep it pretty close to the campfire.
The Pad Thai with Chicken has 420 calories per serving 7:00 On a backpacking trip you would only need to eat eight servings each day to maintain your weight. That's assuming that you aren't doing a whole lot of elevation gain and that you have kept the weight of your backpack to a minimum. The Chiang Mai Coconut Curry with Beef has 270 calories per serving 7:16. Twelve servings per day?
Well this is just typical our dinner meal. There are 2 servings per package, so 840-ish calories. That’s pretty filling for one sitting. If we can have a fire we often pack in steaks for the first night. And we have plenty of breakfast and lunch options. We don’t go hungry.
co zy3, we used the Sevenmile Marsh Trailhead (hike #40 in William Sullivan’s Southern Oregon guidebook). It’s a bit longer than the westerner Seven Lakes Trail, but it’s less elevation. Have fun!
Nice. Thanks for posting!
Glad you enjoyed it
So beautiful up there. Looks like something on a postcard or computer screensaver. Awesome when you get to see views like that in person.
Wayward Waggs, it really is. And there’s a lot to explore in this area. Highly recommended.

Wow that’s awesome. Thanks for your work on the trail!
Nice! That is a new wilderness I haven't heard of. Eek smoking in wilderness! Seems risky.

Hey which trailhead did y’all use? I’m over in shady cove trying to find the best way in there

Looks like cliff lake and alta???
That’s right, a couple of gems for sure.
Very pretty. Worth buying a better camera!
Thanks, video isn’t really my gig. But I have upgraded my backpacking camera since this trip.
Bad taste in beer!
Haha to each their own I guess. I like a wide variety but I do tend towards IPA’s. Cheers!
